Bigger car than 7 seater mini van?

As you only need all the capacity for pax and luggage to/from the airport, have you considered staying with a 7 seater and using a taxi in parallel for some of the party/luggage for these two journeys?

Driving in the US - Bad drivers

paulh is offering good advice. In California, I have been told by CHP that it is a traffic violation to change lanes more than 3 times in a half mile.

    about las vegas????

If you are into Star Trek then the StarTrek Experience at the Hilton is a must! As a side trip, Ethel M's chocolates and cactus garden are worth a vist. Ethel M was the mother of the Mars Brothers.

Question concerning Handheld consules on planes

This has nothing to do with interfering with the cockpit and everything to do with impeding an emergency evacuation should it be necessary. Nothing should interfere with the ability to empty the aircraft in 90 seconds from the time of pushback until it is in the air. Whilst you may think that...

    driving licence panic

Even if the car hire company don't want to see it, if you are stopped by the police for any reason, they will want to see both parts

Didn't know where to post this question. virgin airline ?????

How was the ticket paid for? If she paid for it herself, then she is under 18 and cannot lawfully enter into a contract and certainly cannot be held to one. Tell Virgin that neither side had any lawful grounds to enter into a contract and it is therefore void and that you wish the flight...

School - Not sure what to do

I'm afraid that the above is nonsense. The law is very specific. Only the Headteacher can authorise such absence. Not the Governors and not the LA. The HT has absolute power in this matter.

    Hand luggage with a toddler

Despite other posts above, there is no real definition of baby. However, at 23 months your child is still entitled to an infant ticket and so could well be classified as a 'baby' Any milk or juice would need to be specifically for babies and not just the standard item - like Tropicana In...

VWP could be scaled back - Visa's for all Brits

Effectively, yes. Altthough it is a bit more than a 'pop down' - it takes some time. WHo do you suggest would do this checking? It obviously has to be an authority with access to UK criminal records - which rules out the US authorities and the airlines.

    Duty free purchases

    Yes, they are.

VWP could be scaled back - Visa's for all Brits

The main difference is that for a visa you are required to supply a copy of your criminal record (or lack of one)

VWP could be scaled back - Visa's for all Brits

Having a visa does not change the need to fill in a form on the aircraft. With a visa, you have to complete a white 1-94 instead of the green I-94W for the VWP.

    Duty free purchases

Since the idea behind not allowing PAX to take liquids on baord was to prevent sombody blowing up the aircraft, I seriously doubt that it matters once the aircraft is on the ground and unloaded! So the answer to your question is no. US Customs will only be interested if you are over your DF...

VWP could be scaled back - Visa's for all Brits

A visa for Australia is simply a money raising exercise - nothing to do with security. If the US authorities allow postal application, then what would the point be? So I don't see that happening anytime soon. Politically, I don't think that the US can simply remove the UK from the VWP...

Gatwick Virgin, do they actually MEASURE hand luggage?

Virgin may not, but security will. The maximum size is just that - a maximum, not a guideline Under the current rules, you are only allowed a handbag if it is inside the 1 bag. The rule is 1 bag, not 1 bag plus handbag As for the book, I am not sure. As it is a US flight, you do get a...

    Free Starbucks coffees (US)

I would be a little dubious about these. They do not have the Starbucks logo or corporate colours and there are no "instructions to retailer" or rules for redemption. Usually there are limiting rules - with these, you could print several copies and not have to pay for Starbucks iced latte...

    New Security A Joke

Nothing to do with security as long as he wasn't carrying anything currently banned (everything at the time!). Security aren't there to check documentation. The documentation check to enter security is fairly cursory and at his age, he could still be on a parents passport - it is only the US...

    Lipsalve on planes?

As PaulH stated earlier in the thread... The TSA rules only concern flights from the US. Currently cosmetics are not allowed by UK security for flights to the US

    Lipsalve on planes?

Ryanair are flying transatlantic? It isn't down to the airline at all - it is down to airport security, which is the same regardless of which carrier you choose
