New Magic Kingdom Welcome Show & Main Street Opening UPDATE: Page 15 - Post #281

Can anyone confirm whether or not Main Street eateries will be open before EMH lets guests in? For example, Friday EMH opens at 8. Am I going to be able to grab a croissant doughnut at 7:30?

DME vs Hertz on a time crunch

Years ago, I made my first trip back to WDW as an "adult", and the one ride I really remembered fondly was Maelstrom... so I absolutely feel your pain. I actually refused to watch Frozen under the grounds that my movie ticket, movie rental, or dvd purchase would be the final straw that pushed...

DME vs Hertz on a time crunch

Excellent. I have Hertz Gold, so that should speed up things, and my parking is covered with my annual pass. It's only 6 more dollars to upgrade to an SUV, which should make my changing efforts significantly more comfortable.

    Magical Express - Wait times?

I've been hit or miss on DME January 2013: Wilderness lodge, arrived around 11am on a Saturday. We waited on the bus for all of 10 minutes, and we were the first stop. This was our first DME experience, so you can imagine that I thought it was the greatest idea ever. December 2013: AKL...

DME vs Hertz on a time crunch

Hello everyone, We're heading down to MCO Friday, late afternoon. We're supposed to land around 5:30. We're just in town until late Sunday (yes, this trip is actually being referred to by us as "Emergency Maelstrom Trip", so we opted to do MNSSHP on Friday evening, just because it's the only...

    Narcoosee's ADR Timing? Advice please!

I can't answer your dining plan question, but when we did Narcoosee's this past december, our waiter asked us if we would like to hold our entrees until after Wishes so that we could go on the dock and watch. Half the dining room did it, so I'd keep your 9:05 and just do it that way. I wouldn't...

What Does Everyone Use to Keep Track of Plans

I usually have everything in an excel file. So i'll email the file to myself, download it to my phone, and open it with kingston office (you can use whatever spreadsheet viewer/editor you have on your phone). If im going with friends or family, i'll usually jot down the touring plan on notecards...

When we had a peephole, it only had glass on the outside

What is that one ride that you can ride over and over again?

BTMR On a christmas party night, a little girl kept asking her poor mother to ride it over and over again, as it was about 11pm and there was no line. We just kept egging her on and her mom kept caving. It was pretty hilarious after about the 6th or 7th time. If you're on the disboards, i'm...

    Rank your disney hotels!

Resorts are my one of my favorite aspects of wdw, so I think this thread is excellent. This is so hard though. There are some that I acknowledge as "better" that I don't like as much (GF vs. WL for instance) Which is best Polynesian > Grand Floridian > Contemporary > AKL > Yacht Club >...

"Official" Unofficial Show Your Disney Side 24 Hour Party at Magic Kingdom.

We're planning to try for the whole 24 hours in the park and trying to hit every attraction. Doing all of our favorites early, spending the warmest hours doing Splash, WDW railroad, riverboat, CoP, tiki room, CBJ, and HoP. Got a lunch FP+ for BOG and trying the golden oak outpost chicken...

Captain's Grille or Grand Floridian Cafe...for breakfast

I once did both within a 4 day span.. lobster omelette at CG and the maple-vanilla french toast at GFC. I enjoyed them both really. I think i'd give a slight nod to CG, but I would go back to either

Are the Pirates of the Caribbean boats still taking on water?

I got the chance to ride it about a dozen times in dec 2013 and jan 2014 and the degree of wetness absolutely depended on where I was sitting. I didn't think of it as a bad thing really, I kind of assumed it was some sort of new feature to make it more exciting :rotfl:. I've never been...

    Busch Gardens, Williamsburg

In terms of airports, PHF (newport news/williamsburg) is closer than RIC (richmond) and ORF (norfolk) isn't too much farther from richmond as long as traffic isnt bad. You'll definitely want to rent a car regardless. If you want to see some historical sites, Jamestown is about 20 minutes...

Pizzafari vs. Toy Story Pizza Planet

I think they're "supposed" to be the same, but I found Pizza planet's pizza to be much doughier with a higher bread to cheese/tomato ratio. I thought pizzafari's pizza was better, personally. But it could've just been a bad day at pizza planet.

Late arrival Yacht Club - where to eat?

Since you mentioned a 4 year old... Beaches and cream will also be open. Good burgers and tons of ice cream. The fountain over at dolphin is also a solid choice for the exact same reason. Beaches and cream can get pretty crowded, and the fountain is usually fairly deserted. So if you're...
