Have you checked Amtrak from Seattle to Vancouver? That's what we were planning before we decided to do the Panama Canal this year instead of Alaska last year. Just throwing out an option you may not have thought about.

If it were me I'd go through Dreams Unlimited rather than call Disney and transfer. It's my understanding transfers get less onboard credit.

My two cents - it was good to have a "plan" for a total newbie family, and I got that from TGM. On the other hand, the "plan" for the preschool set included rides that were being renovated, were age-inappropriate, or required the rider to be significantly taller than an average 5 year old. I...

We stayed at Hampton Inn Lake Buena Vista last time, and it was nice (but just OK for Hampton). We've also stayed at the Sheraton Safari across from Downtown Disney (years ago) and it was also nice.

My youngest has some pretty severe allergies and wicked eczema and our allergist and pediatrician both recommended Aveeno Baby for sunscreen.

We went this year Jan 2 - Jan 7. It was super crowded on the 2nd, Epcot was the worst I've ever seen it on the 3rd, and there was virtually no lines the entire rest of the time.

My boys were 2 and 5 when we went in January and both of them reached out to "catch" things as they "flew" past. That joy and wonder on their faces at the time, that is what Disney Magic means to me.
