    confused about deluxes for 5

All deluxes have queen beds, not doubles. All Disney resort rooms sleep a minimum of 4 plus 1 child under the age of 3 in a crib.

Bad end to a vacation at All Star Sports (long)

You don't need to leave a credit card at a Disney resort. No mini-bars at Disney resorts, except in maybe a few rooms at the Grand Floridian? Internet charges are not charged to room, they are paid for at the time of purchase via the internet provider. Room service cannot be charged to...

What's the big deal with POP?

The things that send me to Pop over the other All-Stars (been to 3 of the 4 values): - single bus stop, doesn't share with other resorts - larger food court, more seating, some unique menu items - more pools - pool bar has seating inside and outside - water views are possible - also...

Changes ahead for 2008 room bookings!!

Yes, but how "free" are they? Does someone who doesn't gamble at all get freebies, comps and discounts? or are they thanking the gamblers for giving them their money (and encouraging them to come back and give them more) ? I agree, their is no comparison between LV, AC, and Disney.

Changes ahead for 2008 room bookings!!

Supposed to go into effect on June 23 for bookings in 2008. See http://www.allearsnet.com/news/hnews.htm#061107 Why don't you just wait 10 days before jumping to conclusions?

Already booked--insurance and reservation TFR question....

It can be difficult at times to move a reservation from one TA to the other; its usually best to book direct with DCL first, and then shop between TA's for best price/onboard credits. You are basically going to be taking money away from the TA you are booked with now....

Changes ahead for 2008 room bookings!!

Changes ahead for 2008 room bookings!!

I don't see this happening - discounts this year have been few and far between, and not as deep as in years past. They are raising prices because they have forecasted that they can. My prediction is that next year you will see even fewer discounts barring any unforeseen major events. Disney...

There's a big difference between spending a lot of money and gambling a lot of money!

Changes ahead for 2008 room bookings!!

I don't think that this statement is true year-round, during August and September I would agree with you, but not other times of year. I know many people that stay onsite and don't get the dining plan.

Changes ahead for 2008 room bookings!!

Disney doesn't need to offer a loyalty program, because all of their research shows that we will all continue to visit, again and again, without it. We then tell our friends, and they visit, and tell their friends, etc, etc. The Disney marketing machine with their TV ads will keep bringing...

    travel agents response

There are many people that don't want to do it all themselves, even if the info is freely available on the internet. Many use a travel agent for the services they provide - and many have very detailed knowledge of the destinations they sell.

Changes ahead for 2008 room bookings!!

Staying off-site for those 2 nights isn't going to reduce the crowds in the parks any!

    AAA Pros

You need to call and have you AAA card handy, sometimes they want the number. The card should also be needed at checkin. You cannot just show up at checkin and ask for the AAA rate if you didn't book it that way.

    Not too many discount options??

Discounts are offered when they need to fill rooms. Between 9/11 and probably up until late 2005, tourism was down and Disney needed to offer more discounts to get people to fill their rooms. In 2006 and even more so in 2007, the number of people traveling to WDW and other destinations has...

What do you use (towel, etc.) to sit on during parades?

If you are carrying rain ponchos, they can be used to sit on.

    AAA Pros

I would still double-check that $140.50 AAA rate - I would bet that it includes tax! Also make sure the same room type is being compared too! Maybe the $140.50 is for a Water view room and the $145 is for a standard. I've never seen AAA rates be this close to rack rates.
