    Longer Stay or Better Resort

I'm a middle of the road kind of gal, and thus, I'd do both-- a split stay. Instead of 7 or 12 days, I'd stay for 10-- 5 at the value and 5 at the moderate. Your numbers may or may not be pretty similar than if you were to do just one or the other. You could adjust to compensate as well...

Where to stay Pop or Dolphin

I stayed at the Dolphin as part of a family of five when my siblings and I were about your kids' ages. We weren't cramped and didn't have any problems sharing the bathroom or sharing space in general. I think the Dolphin is better for your kids' age group, plus you have the option to boat or...

    Resort change - after arrival

Got to the All Star in '05 and decided we didn't want to stay there after all. The CM at the desk called over to CSR and had us moved immediately. Of course, we had to pay the difference between the rooms. It was really not a big deal.

Anyone actually stay at GF, and NEVER going back?

GF is very beautiful and definitely has a theme, but I doubt I will ever stay there. When I go on vacation I want it to feel relaxed and like I can have fun! GF makes me feel like I'm an excited little kid stuck in grandma's house where I have to keep my hands to myself and speak in hushed...

    Re-Fillable Mugs at Swan?

Hey Bill, fellow coffee addict and Swan stayer here-- we'll be there in June and I'd love to know the answer to this too, although I have a sneaking suspicion the answer is "no." Let's cross our fingers! :)

Hotel Choices for Honeymoon - Help??

We are staying at The Swan for our honeymoon trip in June. We could not beat the teacher's rate we were offered, which is around $150-200 less per night than we were quoted at WL / AKL savannah view. If either of you are in the teaching or nursing profession, or a government employee, you may...

AAA Discounts vs. Teacher Discounts ???

I called for my reservations in August and was told on the phone directly by Swan and Dolphin reservations center that the teacher's rate is THE lowest rate you can possibly get, lower than AAA (Though I think it's the same as gov't and nurse rates? Not sure on that one.) I was so excited to...

Bride and Groom ears on Anniversary?

I don't have a problem with people who wear the ears on their anniversaries, but ... I can see how it sort of steals the thunder of people who are honeymooning. I would feel bad about doing it, like I was misleading people or something. I do agree with the other poster who said that you only...

    CSR or Dolphin?

I recently had to make the same decision! I am a big time CSR lover, but found out I could get a teacher's discount at the Swan or the Dolphin and that rate ended up being significantly less than I expected. We also do not rent cars while in Disney. I think the convenience of the Dolphin's...

    Drinking around the world??

I did it when I was in college. To be fair, myself and another person shared many of the drinks, but I definitely saw Illuminations in a whole new way that night! :rotfl: I could park myself in the UK pub all day because that's where my favorite beers are (Bass, Boddingtons, Stella Artois...

    Beaches and Cream Question

I think it closes around 9 or 10 but definitely try to go! It's a lot of fun and the ice cream is great. :goodvibes

Big River Grille & Brewing Works

I think Big River is a great brewery and pub. The jalapeno cheese dip is awesome and so is the beer cheese soup! The Rocket Red Ale is definitely great, as are all of their microbrews. I have never had poor food or service there.

Let's see your Pics entitled "What The.....???"

:scared: :scared: :scared: These are hilarious!!! However, I don't get the one with the lady in a shorter skirt and boots. Mini skirts and Ugg boots together are standard dress in my parts, especially among the collegiate crowd, up until it gets pretty cold... then leggings are thrown in the...

    Worst restaurant at WDW?

I go to San Angel every time we're in Epcot. I also love the food at Spirit of Aloha. I think Biergarten was my worst experience. Bad food that was so greasy and seemingly undercooked and then we ended up being seated with a horribly obnoxious family. Thankfully I got over it pretty quick...

CSR vs CBR, or "my headache"

I have special memories at both resorts- CBR was the first we ever stayed at when I was a little girl and it looks almost exactly like the Barbie dream house I had -- haha! It's a great resort and if you choose it, I'm sure you'll love it. That being said, I wouldn't switch if I were you...

    Let's see your Beverly photos!

I love this thread!!!:lmao: Beverly is the most god-awful tasting substance on the face of the planet! I liken it to what I suspect earwax would taste like. I don't have a picture to share yet, but I am planning to catch a pic of my future DH on our disneymoon trying the Beverly! He's a...

How does GAY days effect the parks?

Wow, this post took forever to read, but it sure made me realize how grateful I am to live in Ann Arbor, the San Francisco of the Midwest! And I love my big Catholic church here, where all God's children are welcome, including Adam and Steve and their three adopted mulitcultural children! The...

The *NEW* 2008 SWAN & DOLPHIN Resort Information Thread!

I have a silly question about the toiletries provided. I hear they are Bath and Body Works brand!!! This excites me a whole bunch as I'm not a huge fan of the Mickey stuff in the Disney hotels. I have used the travel B&BW stuff at another hotel (not a Starwood though) and I loved them...
