The Official 2010 MNSSHP- Tips,Tricks and a few Treats !

Ok, here is a question: DD12 isn't into the character meet and greet thing anymore. So, we can just collect candy and ride rides-I know certain rides will only be available after 7pm. Then see the 2nd parade as from this thread I understand it will be less crowded.

So, does that sound ok?

That sounds great, we love the 2nd parade its defintely less crowded

Hi Everyone!

I'm sooo excited! We are going to our first MNSSHP this year on our trip over! We have done the MVMCP in 2008 and loved it but I have heard so much good things about the halloween one we just HAVE to try it out! We have however decided to wait until our arrival to book our tickets so that we can see how the weather is fairing etc.

We arrive in Orlando on 1st October and leave on the 15th! Our initial plan is for the Tues 12th October and we have an ADR booked in at Crystal Palace for dinner that evening just in case. Fingers crossed it all goes according to plan.

All our costumes have arrived this week, DH is going as Captain Jack Sparrow ( it was a costume my Brother had so borrowing that to save money), i'm going to go as a Pirate Wench ( simply as it was a cheap and easy costume to get). DS1 LOVES Zorro ( not very Disney themed I know but he is happy and thats all that matters), DS2 is crazy mad for Wheezy the Penguin from Toy Story 2 so we have a Penguin costume for him, and DS3 is dressing as his favourite character Buzz Lightyear!

We initially thought about doing a whole Toy Story Theme, DH Woody, Me, Jessie, DS1, Green Army Man, DS2 Wheezy and DS3 Buzz but the Woody and Jessie costumes were pretty expensive and as I say DS1 really wanted to be Zorro so this is what we have planned!!

Can't wait really looking forward to it! 24 Sleeps to go til we leave for Florida!!

Sounds great. That's mainly our plan as well.

Anyone know which rides are not available after 7pm? Just so, we do any of the not available ones that we want to do prior to 7.

One week from today and we'll be at the first MNSSHP! I just can't wait, it's driving me crazy! I am still planning on posting pics after the party, although if we stay until the end and I'm too tired it may be the next day. My daughter and SIL have decided against dressing up, but I did make them tee shirts. I'm still going as a ghost, yeah still lame, but I actually do like the costume. My DGS is going to be Buzz Lightyear. If anyone that will be there the 14th sees us, I hope you will stop and say hi. We love meeting fellow Dis'ers.

We are going September 21st and myself and DD (8) will be going as 101 Dalmatians. DH & DS (12) won't be dressing up, but I don't think either way you would feel out of place. Lots of people dress up and lots of people don't. Just remember that it will be hot - so cool is the key!

Oh that's interesting.. We were Bam Bam and Betty Last Year and its pretty "cool" .. So I'm going to bring it and see how I feel the day of :) But thank you !! :)

I'm jumping in at the end of this thread, and am planning to go back and read it all! I have been reading the 2009 thread, and just found this one.

This will be a quick weekend trip, just me and my girls (10 and 17 mos when we go). I have tickets for the 10/24 party, and 2 nights booked at Pop. I teach, and we don't have off days in October, so I'm taking a personal day on 10/25. My 13 year old son and husband will be hunting from early October until March, so I thought this would be a great tradition for me and the girls! They don't know about it-plan to get up that morning and tell them we are having a girls day, and have the suitcases hidden in the back. Dd10 will figure it out when we get to the airport:)

We are flying in on Saturday, swimming Sat night, then sleeping in Sun. We have an adr at 1900 for an 11am breakfast, a 1pm DTD Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appt for dd10, we'll eat a late "lunch" somewhere, then head to MK by 4. I have an appt at the barbershop at 5 for dd1's 1st haircut, enjoy the party, then fly home Mon morning.

Sorry for rambling-I can't talk about it at home since it is a surprise!

Dd10 will be Jasmine, dd1 will be Tink, and I'm going to be Minnie. I ordered Minnie ears from disneystore.com, yellow Mickey crocs from Ebay, and now I'm looking for a red polka dotted sundress or top. :goodvibes

Last year was the first year for DH and I and that is exactly what we did, except we watched the fireworks also. I am not a fan of fireworks but these were great. They were totally different. I would recommend you watch them also. You can always leave the viewing area if you don't care for them. We had so much fun that DD19 insisted that we go again this year and take her with us.

i know the jungle cruise will be closed. I am wondering about the train.

Also, when others refer to the characters in the builing by Aloha Isle, is that the Veranda area (Baloo, King Louie, etc???) ??? Thank you......

There are three character areas in the Agrabah side of Adventureland.

Imagine walking over the bridge, from the Hub, and to the right there is a greeting area known as the Veranda Porch. This is currently home to Ariel and Prince Eric. No characters are expected to be here during MNSSHP.

If you walk a little further, before you get to Aloha Isle, there will be an entrance to the Veranda on the right. This is a building you walk into and has three character meet and greet areas.

If you walk just past Aloha Isle you'll see a little area to the right (has tables during the day) where you'll find the Aladdin characters. This is known as the Veranda Gazebo.

Note about the veranda: The first queue alternates between Timon and Rafiki. The second queue alternates between King Louie and Baloo. The third queue alternates between Tarzan and Jane, Terk will be available all night.

The veranda is also a candy stop! When you leave, it'll be past the Aloha Isle so you'll back track (just a bit) to get to the Aladdin characters.

As for the Aladdin characters, they will also alternate. Rumors indicated Aladdin and Abu will be meeting together and then Jasmine and Genie will be meeting together. This is new this year, so I'm not sure 1) how accurate that is and 2) how long it'll last.

Hi Carreen, :flower3: Sounds like you and your family have a great vacation planned. I will have to read you Pre Trip Report. We will be at MNSSHP on the 12th. We have our tickets so it is a go for us. We are all dressing up. I will be on the look out for Capt. Jack and his pirate wench with little ones as Zorro (cool) and Wheezy (so cute) It will be my DH and DSIL as pirates and our DD and myself as pirate wench's or such. :rotfl: Our whole family (12 of us) did the MVMCP on our last trip, we all had such a fantastic time we have to go to the Halloween party. :thumbsup2 If you see us roaming come up and say Hi.

Glad to see some other folks with be attending on the 12th. We have already purchased our tickets for this night also. My DD will be Alice, my DH is going to be the Mad Hatter, I am hoping to go as the Queen (if I can find a costume that doesn't break the bank.) And we are still trying to decide what my DS will be - either the White Rabbit or another MAD person :lmao:..............

Went to Party City here in Colorado yesterday, they are just starting to put out the goods. Told me to come back at the end of the week and they should have "The Wall" of numbered costumes up. Headed off to Target, they had a decent amount of costumes out, but very generic stuff so far IMHO. Unless anyone wants a 50.00 dollar Dorthy of Oz costume :scared1:.

I just keep twiddling my thumbs waiting for the stores here to get out the Halloween stuff, so I can see if these costumes are going to fit
Not long now !!

Home with sick kids and finally read it all.......

I didn't see this question-sorry if it is a repeat.

We are only going for the weekend, so we don't have any park tickets. We are going with the assumption that we can get in at 4 with our party tickets. I know there won't be FP during the party, but will we be able to get FPs with our party tickets between 4 and 7?

That is a good question! I hope someone knows the answer too!

Any FP's that are in use during the day should be available during that time. Whether there are any left is another story......

Yes but if you have to scan your KTTW card or ticket card to get the FP then they would not be valid, right? Because they weren't scanned to get in the park. Can you put the party ticket into the FP machine to get the FP?
