How To Lose Waldo in 10 days-The Trilogy~NEW 10/26 - Final Thoughts; Adios Amigos!

I told the nice lady on the line that we needed medical assistance. She asked if it was an emergency and I thought about it – I guessed it was life threatening, so I said no.
:scared1: Dude, you are so not in charge of deciding whether to call 911 when I have a massive asthma attack! :rotfl2:

I spied this guy in line and thought of V.
wdw8-27005.jpg
Sweet! :cool1:

I got a much better score this time around.
wdw8-27009.jpg
You got the much-coveted Beaver! :thumbsup2 Leo says the Beaver is the "coolest" prize.

Up Next: We become "them" and then we become something else. :ssst:
:yay: :yay: :yay:

I'm so glad Waldo got medical attention! Tell him "Violet" says not to mess around with chest stuff. ;)

Poor Waldo! Glad they took care of him. Baby Girl was sick when we were at SSR once and a doctor came to our room. It was so convenient.

Glad your meal was good. You got some good photos with the characters.

Finally caught up again.

akepcot011.jpg
I'm bettin, this guy is some kind of rock and roll star from the 80's. They are the only one's that can't let go of their hair style.

Hi Back from another day at work !! Changed avatars again for Jo!! Man I think I deserve a Tag for Being Queen of the Changing Avatars !!:rotfl2: Bur personally I think the Tag Fairy is on vacation in Disneyland !!:lmao:

yeah, you def could not get mad at him for wandering when he's sick and he was thinking about maddie. :lovestruc

Let me start out by saying I'm sorry for not getting back to your replies. I've really been trying to wrap this bad boy up. I think I may have skipped a set of replies, so I'm sorry if I skipped you. It absolutely was not intentional! :flower3:

Poor Waldo.
Thanks, Hedy. He gets better, ummm... laterish. :guilty:
Great pics of Splash, Tracy. I wanna try to get my girls on that one, but I'm not sure if they'll go for it or not.
I was actually surprised she rode it. But once she did, it's now her favorite ride at the MK. :thumbsup2

:lmao: Did you see Andy's face? Not quite sure what was going on there. :lmao:

Did anyone shout at you as you pulled into Main Street?
Um... yes - read it again. :rolleyes1

I told Mitch about Catfoodgarden.
:scared:
When we rode, I called dibs on HamBoy and made Mr Diz ride with Baby Girl. I think his ride was like yours.
DUDE - I'm so calling dibs on Maddie next time!
OMGoodness, the flashback to the '80s. I hate it when guys have better hair than me.
It was soooo bizarre. He had rolled up, cut off Levi's even!
That Flat bread at Jiko sounds so yummy!!!!!
The flat bread was yumalicous! I vote for a focker meet in Jiko! No catfood there. :goodvibes
I'm so sad that I missed the MK meet. We must have been walking up main street as you were walking sown to leave becasue our LTT ADR's were at 4:45, so that is about the right time frame:sad2:
It was short, but sweet. Got to meet Tanya and Margie and that was nice. :thumbsup2
I too think the picture of maddie is so magical. You should enter it at http://allears.net/pw/pw.htm. I also like the pick of Evan. It sure does look like him. Ilike CP buffet also. I dont know if I am changing my ADRs arount to fit it in thsi trip.
Ok, I submitted it. Keep your fingers crossed! ;)
Great updates, T! I am running out, so I can't quote all the funny bits, but I love the pictures - the teacups and the Speedway in particular!

Looks like a great meet, and a fun day, even though the plan went out the window. :goodvibes
Hi CE! It was a fun day. :goodvibes

THIS is what makes me a believer in the car transport system!
I've decided to rent a car from now on. :thumbsup2

YAY!!! :cheer2: We need Maddie and Evan to work on Leo, please.
For sure next time! The power of peer pressure. :lmao:

He'll do it one day when the other kids do!
::yes:: ITA
I'm a long-time lurker on your TR's, but oh my gosh... You've got to tell me that Waldo is a-ok right now!!!! :( I'm scared over here in PA!!

Seriously, your TR's always make me laugh hysterically. That picture of Maddie on the tea cups is perfect - frame that!!!
Thanks for coming out and saying Hi! Sorry to keep you hanging for so long! ;)
Hey fellow OC person.....looks like I have some reading to do.
Hey Jordan! Long time no see! Where ya been?
GO EVAN!!!!Riding SM wow. His face in that pic is priceless. Oh and poor Maddie looks soooo scared. Glad they BOTH liked it.
Ok lets get moovin here. I'm worried about WALDO!!!!
She was a bit scared, but loves it! Now if we can just get her on BTMRR. :rolleyes1
The pic of Maddie on the tea cups is really good! Frameable even!
Ohhh, and I'm all over Magic (grow) Shoes, missy. That, and kleenex stuffed shoes! *whistling*(Mom of the Year!)
Not that I would know anything about magic shoes *Ahem*, but those things were SERIOUSLY scary! :scared:
Heyyyy, I used to live in Orange Co. in Brea!!!! WOOOT!
Down with the O.C.! (flashing my white bread gangsta housewife signs)
OC in da house!!! Yeah, yeah WOOOT! WHOOT! Whoopie di whoop in da hood! Yeeeeeeah boyeeee!

Ok, that's enough gansta-mom for me. :teeth:

And...ummmm...what else do you become?

I think I knows it...I think I does!! :hyper:
:ssst:
Waldo is a trooper! How cute is he that even sick he stops to buy Maddie a light up toy! Just adorable! At least the medical care was good and swift and he got meds so he won't have a lousy time.
Ah, he made a promise to his girl - so he had to keep it. He's good with the kids like that. :goodvibes
Hey Tracy... I finally made it over Great report... I wondered how Waldo got his name hehe.. now I see lol

The pictures are wonderful You have had some awesome meets so far and looks like your family has had a pretty great time. i too long to be a DVC member ...
Hey Tanya! It was great to meet you! :goodvibes

I'm sorry, I had to laugh at your bathroom story.
Yup. Good times.
Poor Waldo !! Hope his meds worked !!
Wait .. it gets better.
Seems like Waldo jumped right back into the swing of things-including getting lost!
Evan's announcement in the toiler is so funny. I'm glad I wasn't in that restroom with you. I would have been so tickled.
Waldo makes getting lost an art form. :lmao:
Glad he got the meds he needed and took it easy, though I was saif not to see you one last time.
I know - I was so bummed we didn't get to see you again! BUT there's always next year. ;)

Now what do you become;) (FINALLY!!!!)
:confused3
OMG - no time to multi-quote, but...

1) Love Evan's monorail shirt...I too took a fancy to it the last couple of trips when I've seen it in the stores...and it's mine now...

2) My poor Waldo...is he any better yet? For the record, I got sick as well on that trip...and yes, 2 freakin' months later...I'm still sick. Er. Yes, I'm sicker than I was. Give my buddy a hug for me...

3) Evan just cracked me up in the bathroom...in his "outside" voice...heh heh...

4) Hoooooo booooyyyyyyy....I've been waiting for the end of this trip. Report. Can't wait!!! Hmmm...wonder what happens on Thursday!?!?
1. Did you really? :lmao:
2. Seriously, he just got better last weekish. :guilty:
3. :sad2:
4. :teeth:

The food is basic buffet food, but if Evan and Maddies are into Playhouse Disney it is a cute character breakfast. It has Jo Jo and Goliath and the Little Einsteins. Then they have CM's that come out and sing the MMCH songs. It's cute, but not a must do!
Ok, I think I'll pass. I'm not sure what's up with the kids and the character thing. They love to see the characters, but when it comes to interaction, they freeze up.

Jimmy was there too
Wait, I thought he was with your mom and Denise getting the stroller.

No picture
I know I took a picture, but I can't find it! :headache:

Because he is a gentleman
Seriously, some of the men around WDW surprise me. There were tons of men who sat whilst my mother stood. I was pissed.

Oh I hope waldo has been to the doctors and had a good look over since your trip. That is what landed my mom in the hospital.
Your epcot not sounds like our Aug. trip from last year. The bus just never would be for our resort. Looking forward to your next episode.
Thanks for asking, Pam. He actually got worse before he got better. When we got home, we got him to the Dr. only to find out they gave him (Centra Care) meds he was allergic to and didn't mix with his everyday meds. He was lucky not to be admitted to the hospital. He was in bed for almost 2 weeks. :guilty:
Hollywood and Vine's Breakfast Buffet was good .The food is standard breakfast buffet but no complaints from us. I found the service to be very good as far as buffats go and the character interaction was excellent. When alone I avoid most character meals as I want to just enjoy my food !! However the kids LOVE them !!
I'm glad to hear your kids loved it, Rosie! :goodvibes
OMG :rotfl2: So did you? ;) :rotfl2:
Jo! For the record. No. Ahem. ;)
I was like what  until reading the replies when the penny dropped :rotfl2:
You know what "the penny dropped" means in America? :rotfl2:
We saw this not too long ago and enjoyed it as well.
I'm so glad we stumbled upon it. :thumbsup2
I can't wait for the next installment!
Patience grasshopper. :goodvibes
Still waiting.....
Don't you have a TR to work on, missy? :rolleyes1
:scared1: Dude, you are so not in charge of deciding whether to call 911 when I have a massive asthma attack!
 OMG! :rotfl2:

You got the much-coveted Beaver! :thumbsup2 Leo says the Beaver is the "coolest" prize.
Yay, me! I have a cool beaver! :cool1:

I'm so glad Waldo got medical attention! Tell him "Violet" says not to mess around with chest stuff.
Ok, that still cracks me up. Whenever we talk about you and he say Vi or Violet, well all yell in unison, "V!!!" :lmao:
Poor Waldo! Glad they took care of him. Baby Girl was sick when we were at SSR once and a doctor came to our room. It was so convenient.
They did offer that, but Waldo opted to go to the clinic.
I'm bettin, this guy is some kind of rock and roll star from the 80's. They are the only one's that can't let go of their hair style.
Probably a one hit wonder. Funny thing is he seemed to enjoy having his photo take, so you may be right.

Hi Back from another day at work !! Changed avatars again for Jo!! Man I think I deserve a Tag for Being Queen of the Changing Avatars !!Bur personally I think the Tag Fairy is on vacation in Disneyland !!
I've notice you're avatar is different every day! You go Rosie!
all caught up t!! i'm sooo glad waldo is okay!

yeah, you def could not get mad at him for wandering when he's sick and he was thinking about maddie. :lovestruc

Hi Rach! How are you feeling?

Wait! I missed Beaver Games? :rotfl2:

Poor Waldo! I can't believe he wandered while in WS? That's SO out of character for him!
Glad he's ok. He's OK, right??? poor little lamb!

Gah! SO much has changed in the year since I was there!!!! I'm so thankful for your reporting, mama!

((hugs))

August 28, Thursday

Here’s what the itinerary said:

8/28 Epcot Day!

8:00 am Bus to Epcot
9:00am Rope drop and head to TT
Go stand-by and grab FP’s
11:00am See anything missed in FW
12:30pm Lunch and leave park

5:00pm Dinner @ Spoodles
Return to Epcot

Here’s what actually happened:

We had an 8:00am AIS time this morning. When I woke up, I went to check on Waldo. He was completely wiped out. He needed to sleep in and I was cool with that. We decided to completely scrap the plan and let the kids decide where to go. Red park, green park, it didn’t really matter at this point. Or did it?:scared:

They naturally chose MK. Blech! Of course they would pick a park that had EMH this morning. Double Blech! And MK to boot? It’s not like MK is any different that DLR and we could go there any day. Yes, I was having issues with their choice. I tried to talk them out of it, but that was impossible.

We made it out to the bus at 7:30am, just as a MK bus went by us. Triple Blech! By the time we get to the MK, it’s 8:10am. Yes, 8:10!!! 10 minutes after rope drop on a EMH morning! O.M.Gawd! I’m having major anxiety. We need to get to Splash, MI:LF and Stitch and then get out of there.

We head directly over to Adventure Land and it’s roped off. WTH? Why is it closed? We head over to MI:LF and IT’S closed. WTH is opened? We ask a CM and basically the only thing opened is FL and a few TL rides. Seriously??? I am NOT happy.

Since we’re literally standing in front of Stitch, which in fact, has a 5 minute wait, we get into that queue and ride that. The kids enjoyed it and we decided to head over to AL for the 9am rope drop so we can ride Splash. As soon as the rope is down, it’s every man for themselves. I tell Andy to meet me there. I can out walk Andy. Heh heh heh. Don’t tell him I told you. Sho’nuff, Evan and I get there and by the time I get him out of the stroller, Andy and Maddie are there and we all jump in line for Splash.

wdw8-27015.jpg

Evan & I are in the front this time. We climbed in and I noticed something funky smelling. Now let me say this. I hadn’t noticed a lot of funky smells this trip. With the exception of:
A- Someone smoking an herbal substance in our hotel.
B-Sweaty people who get wet in the rain, suddenly smell like wet dog. :dog:
C- Catfoodgarten:cat:

Well, this ride smelled funky. And here’s why:

wdw8-27016.jpg

See this funky green moldy crap on the log thingy? Ok, that’s gross. Someone needs to squirt these things with Tilex or something. :crazy2:

So we loaded up our log and as we’re headed up the first little hill, I’m talking to Evan and water splashes up and lands right in my MOUTH!!! Ewwwww!!!! I completely freak out! :crazy2: Can you imagine WTH is in that water??? I still get grossed out when I think about it. I’m really trying to hold it together because I want Evan to enjoy the ride, and it’s killing me to know that I have a toothbrush and Scope within arms reach, but I can’t exactly pull that stuff out and get to work.

Yes, it was the longest 12 minutes of my life. As soon as it’s over, I run into the bathroom and brush my teeth and rinse with my Scope.

Did people stare at me.

Yup.

Did I care?

Nope.

Yes, I know I swallowed that filthy water, but somehow cleaning my teeth made me feel better. :goodvibes

We decided to head to ToonTown to get one last ride on Barnstormer. We rode Barnstormer 2 times and then then kids decided they’re hot and tired and wanted to head back to the hotel to get their swim on. I hadn’t had anything to eat, so we decide to stop at the Bakery to grab something for me. Holy cow! The line was out the door! I wanted to shake these people and say “PEOPLE!!! You are wasting valuable touring time!!! Get out there! Get your FP’s! Hurry, hurry, hurry!!!” But I didn’t. I shook my head and we headed out to see the mobs of “them” heading in! Mind you, it was 10:30 am, on a EMH morning and these people were heading into MK. We noticed a lot of them had on their “1st Visit” buttons on. Pffft… newbies.

So it was decided we’d spend our last full day in WDW at the pool. :beach: We headed back to the room, changed into our swim suits, grabbed TE and Waldo and went back out the door.

Our first stop was AP for some lunch, which took forever. The kids both ordered hot dogs. Well, they gave us one hot dog that looked perfect. A nice, pinky red, juicy & plump looking dog, whilst the other was more of a grayish-orange, wrinkle, dried up shoe string. When the CM handed them to me, I looked at her and waited for her to say something. Naturally she didn’t so, I asked her if she really expected me to feed my child a gray hot dog? I guess she didn’t even notice, because she made a face like “Eww!” and quickly took said gray dog away and replaced it was a twin of the other juicy dog. I’m hoping she trashed it and didn’t pass it on to another person. :upsidedow

We finished our lunch and went down to the High Rocks pool. Evan loved the baby slide there and jumped in his Spiderman ring and began a repeat of the other night. Up the stairs and down the slide. Up the stairs and down the slide.

Maddie and Andy headed over to the other side of the pool whilst, Waldo found a shady spot and lounged there. TE was roaming around taking photos of us all.

Another father and his daughter joined us at the baby slide. And the little girl and Evan followed each other up the stairs and down the stairs. And that's when it happened. A very loud life guard came over blowing her whistle. I looked around to see who she was blowing it at and didn’t realize she was blowing it at ME!!?? She came over and told me Evan could not go down the slide with the ring on and then she started blah, blah, blah… So Evan doesn’t know he’s not allowed to do this and he’s at the top of the slide ready to go down. The life guard tells me I need to get him off NOW. Well I go over to the slide and Evan goes down before I could stop him. Oops. So I tell Evan he cannot go down the slide with the ring anymore and he takes it off and heads back up the slide. No big deal. Until….

The life guard tells me to go get him a life jacket if he can’t swim. I told her we’ve been using the ring everyday on the slide and this is the first time someone has said anything to me. She looks at me and says “I doubt it!”. Boom! That set me off. I look at the other father and he shook his head in disbelief. Oh hells to the no she didn’t just talk to me like that.

I get Evan and toss him over to Andy and I jump out of the pool and chase her down. She sees me heading toward her and she crosses over the bridge, so I head to the other life guard chair and ask as I pointed to her “Who is her manager?” Well, the beyotch life guard sees me talking and pointing at her and runs over to me and asked me if there was a problem. I replied “Yes, your attitude!” The other life guard gets on her walkie talkie and asks for assistance NOW!

The manager comes running over while I start going off on the life guard and he jumps in and sends the life guard away. I tell him what happened and he apologizes to me saying that yes, children cannot wear swim rings on the slides, however the life guard should not have spoken to me in that manner. I told him I completely understood that part, but I would not permit a CM to be rude and condescending to me. He apologized and asked what he could do to make it up to me. I didn’t want anything – but I did tell him that this was our last day and we’d had nothing but positive experiences all week and this CM really threw a dark cloud on our last day. I walked away and joined my family and pretty soon I saw that beyotch life guard carrying buckets of ice back and forth. I’m sure I became her story of the day. :lmao:

We left the pool a few hours later and yes, we saw that CM again and it took everything in me not to give her the bird. NOMorrisDay

We had a very important appointment at 3:30 that afternoon. You see, Andy & I had been discussing DVC all week and decided that DVC was a great idea for us and we decided to sign up that afternoon.

We went back to our room, got ready and headed down to the DVC office at SSR. Our guide, Larry was not in that day, so another guide helped us. We walked out of there proud members of AKV and a nice set of bonus builders points to use within 12 months at SSR. I was on Cloud9!

:dance3:  :woohoo:
DisneyvactionClub.jpg
 :woohoo: :dance3:

We grabbed the others and called down for a taxi van to meet us at the Carriage House. Just as we arrived, the taxi van pulled away. The CM’s called again and said it would be a few minutes. About 2 seconds later, they had a DVC van there and ready to take us to the Boardwalk. How nice was that? Waldo said they did it because we just signed up and they were buttering us up! :lmao:

We arrived at the Boardwalk and this time it felt different. I didn’t really care for it last year, but this time, it wasn’t crowded and we were able to really enjoy the atmosphere. I told Andy we could use DVC points here as well. We walked down to the Boardwalk and headed to Spoodles. The courtyard is really lovely, there were children playing on the grass and families everywhere.

They seated us at Spoodles within just a few minutes of our checking in. Our server was very attentive and soon the food was rolling in! I took a picture of the bread and my glass of Sangria and sent it to my brother. I know, I’m mean. :stir:

We passed on dessert, and headed over to the candy store and bakery on the boardwalk. I’d heard the brownie cheesecake was incredible, so I got one for me & Andy and Waldo and TE got the tiramisu.

wdw8-27017.jpg

We didn’t want to go into Epcot, so we jumped on a bus over to DTD to do some last final shopping.

Our first stop was the Christmas store. We purchased a few ornaments and a few of the reusable grocery bags. You’ve seen them, right? They’re almost $6 and they fold into a little tiny pouch. Anyway, TE wanted to buy some to use at the grocery store. She didn’t blink an eye when I told her they were $6. This from the lady who complained about paying $2 for the canvas ones at our supermarket. Go figure.

wdw8-27018.jpg

Andy affectionately refers to DTD as “The Land of the Lost” and here’s why. Somehow upon leaving the Christmas store, Maddie and I found ourselves completely alone. We looked around that whole area for anyone. We went back into the store and all around and didn’t see anyone. I got a text from Andy saying he and Evan were in the bathroom, so I sent him one back saying to meet us at Goofy’s Candy store. I ordered 2 sets of pretzels and Maddie ordered the 3 marshmellow thing. As were waiting for our stuff, Andy and Evan show up. Maddie and I head to the pin store to look for a monorail pin for Evan. Pretty soon we get a call from TE saying she’s infront of Ghiradelli’s by herself because she lost Waldo somewhere between the Christmas store and One Upon a Toy.

wdw8-27019.jpg

0828081919-1.jpg

Maddie and I search in vain for the monorail pin, only to find out it’s a set of 3 and pin #1 is sold out. Oh well. As we leave the pin store, we spy Waldo standing infront of the Margarita bar. We grab him and stop and pick up TE and we head into WoD. Andy finds us in WoD and somehow I end up with Evan. I’m looking for a shirt for me and Evan tells me he only likes the Epcot one for me, so I blow it off and we all meet up in front of the store near the spitting Stitch.

wdw8-27020.jpg

heh heh heh ... this sign makes me giggle.
wdw8-27023.jpg

TE wants ice cream from Ghiradelli, so we wait for her and then head over to the boat back to SSR. I love the fact that you have the boat option. We stop at the Carriage house to check out the merchandise and I have to buy a DVC key chain. :teeth:

wdw8-27021.jpg

Back in the room, we’re all kind of lazy and not wanting to get ourselves packed and ready to go home the next day. Our room has so much crap, I have no idea how we’re ever going to be finished by tomorrow.

I let the kids play in the Jacuzzi tub one last time and then it’s to bed for them both. They fall asleep rather quickly and Andy and I worked on getting us all packed and ready. We had trashed so much stuff, I couldn’t believe it.

Trying to pack all this into 3 suitcases. :rotfl2:
wdw8-27024.jpg

Our ME envelop had arrive and our pick up time was 1pm. Perfect because I had planned breakfast for us @ Kona Café and then some park time.

Up Next: Sniff, sniff... parting is such sweet sorrow. :sad1:

They didn’t need all of us at the doctor with Waldo.

True, but I'm sure it was heart-wrenching.

I felt like we should go back, but she insisted we stay and have lunch. They could use the peace and quiet. I knew she was right, as the kids would be bothering Waldo and not allow him to rest.

Again, absolutely the right thing, but oh so hard.

Now it’s my turn and Evan, using his “outside” voice, shouts “Mom are you going to make a HUGE poop, too?” :faint:

Oh, dear lord... :rotfl:

He looked me straight in the eye, threw a pillow at me and called me a liar. :lmao:

Aww, I love Waldo. :lovestruc

And the sweatshirt I wanted was $60! :faint: I could not fathom buying a Disney sweatshirt for $60 for myself.

::yes:: But, if you're like me, you wouldn't think twice about $30/kid. Why? :confused3

Never would my husband sit as a woman holding a child, stood.

 This is why we love Andy.

:goodvibes

Oh, T. I love you. :rotfl:

DVC was a great idea for us and we decided to sign up that afternoon.

I'm sorry, why no balloon, dancing banana, woohoo smilies here? :) Congrats, my friend. :goodvibes

She didn’t blink an eye when I told her they were $6. This from the lady who complained about paying $2 for the canvas ones at our supermarket. Go figure.

Shhh, the ones here are $.99...

Great updates, T!

Red park, green park, it didn’t really matter at this point. Or did it?:scared:

Ooh, I'm telling Mike.

So we loaded up our log and as we’re headed up the first little hill, I’m talking to Evan and water splashes up and lands right in my MOUTH!!!

:lmao: OMG, that is too funny! I'm sitting here in the living room with the boys and they looked at me like, " What the heck are you laughing at?" When I told them they started cracking up. I still have this mental picture of you happily floating along with Evan and then SPLASH!!!, mouth full of Disney ride water. That's priceless!:rotfl2:

I wanted to shake these people and say “PEOPLE!!! You are wasting valuable touring time!!! Get out there! Get your FP’s! Hurry, hurry, hurry!!!” But I didn’t.

Tell me about it! I can't see spending thousands of dollars on a trip and then not doing the research. I feel bad for the kids, poor babies. Oh well, we'll zig while they zag.:snooty:

The life guard tells me to go get him a life jacket if he can’t swim. I told her we’ve been using the ring everyday on the slide and this is the first time someone has said anything to me. She looks at me and says “I doubt it!”. Boom! That set me off. I look at the other father and he shook his head in disbelief. Oh hells to the no she didn’t just talk to me like that.

Uh-uh, no no no no! Girl, them's fightin' words! I can't say that I'm shocked a CM spoke to you like that, I suppose it can happen even at the happiest place on earth but let me tell you, there's no way I would ever let something like that go especially where one of my children are involved. Good for you for informing management and kudos the the supervisor who apologized and tried to make it right.

Finally!!! The moment I've been waiting for!!! Ooh, I'm so excited for you! Are you still on cloud 9? So I'm assuming you're using your developer points next August at SSR? Are you also using your AKV points? Details, details!:yay:

ETA: Ok, I don't know if you had your ticker up before but for some reason I never noticed it. I just added mine. Notice anything familiar? Look at our travel dates. Ok, I'm officially creeped out!
