Our pager went off in about 10 minutes, so really they were only 5 minutes behind. We had a lovely Hispanic server who was so sweet and welcomed us back to the CP. She was super sweet to the kids and even took them over to the buffet to show them the kiddie buffet and the desserts. She was down with da' brown!
Ok, now I’m not really a fan of buffets, but I have to say of the buffets we had on this trip (Tusker House, Catfoodgarten , CP) this one was my favorite. They have the most lovely cold buffet items and that alone to me is worth it. That, and the salmon. OMG, it’s to die for! I don’t know what exactly it is but there are only 2 places where I eat salmon; Boma and CP. I think it may be the same recipe, I don’t know, but it’s fantastic.
All the characters came around and posed with the kids, all except Pooh. We waited and waited for Pooh, then decided we’d try to find him at Epcot later or something. I’d forgotten the autograph books princessjv made for the kids back in the room and so I knew we’d have to character hunt in the next few days.
After our meal, we decided to use our SM FP’s and walked over there. The FP line was completely congested and in fact was longer than the stand-by line. You could see up to the 2nd floor that the line was not moving. We decided to wait until later to ride. It was about 30 minutes until the Toon Town DIS meet, so we all used the facilities and jumped back on the train to Toon Town.
As we got off, I noticed a couple of benches between the train station and the playground. One was empty, so I pulled up and parked next to a lady and her family. I chatted with my mom and Waldo and Evan headed to ride Barnstormer and Maddie and Andy headed over to visit Minnie’s house. The lady kept looking at me and it didn’t dawn on me that she could be a DISer. There were no noticeable LGMH’s or lanyard, so I didn’t think she was a DISer.
She looked at me again and said “Tracy?” OMG! It was Tanya90210! I’d never seen a picture of her, so I had no idea! We said our hello’s and I noticed it was after 3:30, where was everyone? Janet had texted me to say she wasn’t going to make it after all. I looked over at the other side of the playground and there was Jo, Mo, & Margie and their families. I walked over and said “Ahem. The train station is over THERE!”, pointing to where Tanya was standing. They laughed and we all walked over and chatted with eachother. Of course, this time we got a picture.
Margie, Mo, Me, Jo, Jess and Tanya in the back and Kelly Ellie and Maddie in the front row.
Evan and Waldo came back and then Evan took TE over to Barnstormer to ride another 2 times! We said our good-byes as everyone had places to go and itineraries to keep.
We got on the train back to SM to try again. This time the FP line was moving fast, like it should, so we jumped in line. Maddie was a bit nervous about it, as she’s never been on this and Evan was down right excited, my little daredevil. After our log went down the big drop, I asked the kids if they liked it, loved it, or hated it. They both cried that they loved it! They wanted to ride it again, but the wait time was like 90 minutes.
We got back on the train to Main Street and were greeted by shouts from our favorite British DISer and her family, DisneyJo! We finally headed out of the park around 4:30pm.
Back in the room, we all napped or played or watched movies until around 7pm, when we decided to go down and grab some food from AP and perhaps hit the pool. As we walked over to AP, I noticed the pool wasn’t crowded at all, so we ate quickly and went over and jumped in the pool. The kids were having a blast going down the little slide and Maddie had fun doing the big one. I had brought a swim ring for Evan, so I blew it up and he went down the slide over and over again. (<-Remember that!) There was another father at the end of the little slide and we all took turns guiding the little ones back to the ladder for another trip down the slide. We all had so much fun.
Around 8:30 we could see lightening in the distance and decided to get out and head back to the room. Waldo complained that his chest felt “heavy” that night. I thought that was odd and asked him if he felt pain or just pressure. I was worried he was having or was on the verge of a heart attack. No, he said it felt like pressure, perhaps from all the coughing. I gave him another Claritin and we all showered and got into bed.
Up Next: Waldo REALLY needs medical attention.
