Here’s what actually went down:

About 6am my mom came into our room and woke me up. Waldo was really bad and she wanted me to assess the situation. You know, ‘cause my medical background.

I went over to check on Waldo and I didn’t like what I saw. He looks horrible. He was having a hard time breathing and talking. Almost like his lungs were deflated or something. I immediately told him he needed to see a doctor, so I jumped on the phone to get the front desk. I told the nice lady on the line that we needed medical assistance. She asked if it was an emergency and I thought about it – I guessed it was life threatening, so I said no. She connected me to Centra Care, the medical facility on property, and Centra Care said they would send a shuttle to pick Waldo up.

By this time, the kids were up and asking questions. Waldo didn’t see the need for us to stay in the room and miss out on taking the kids to TSM, so they shooed us out the door and off to DHS. I felt so horrible leaving them there, but they were right. They didn’t need all of us at the doctor with Waldo.

Andy, me and the kids headed out the door with TE promising me to keep in touch through out the day to let me know Waldo’s diagnosis and prognosis. We got to the bus stop at 7:58 and made it to DHS in no time. There weren’t many people in line, so we headed to the turn styles on the very left side of the entrance. We were something like 2nd or 3rd in line. I turned around to check out the crowd and there I spy Janet and her family. I sent her a text, “I’m watching you Focker!” and in a few seconds she looks up and spots our brown faces and waves. :lmao: That was fun!

We also spied Tim and Bite1, Kate's (Sharkb8) husband and son!

As we patiently waited for the gates to open, I started chatting with the Character breakfast CM’s standing near us and they ask if we’ve ever done the Playhouse Disney character breakfast. Much to her dismay, I admit we’ve never had a desire to try it. She immediately tells us it’s a “must-do”! I tell her we only have a few days left, and have no reservation. She tells me they can take us right now, if we want. Hmmm…. if it’s a must-do, then why do they have open ressies at this time?

The gates open and the lady in front of us is having trouble with her ticket. The CM’s are telling her it’s expired, and she’s insisting it’s not. I’m freaking out inside. I need to get to the rope drop people. The nice CM’s at the restaurant turn style sees my angst and waves us over. She gets us through and we’re off with the hoards of other folks. We’re stopped by the crowd just a few feet from the rope when I turn around and directly behind us is our friend Janet, her DNeph Andrew and her DH, Jim. And just beyond Janet is Kate and her family! It's a Fockerfest at Rope Drop! :cool1:

They were on their way to ToT and I tried to convince Evan to try it. He wasn’t biting, so we said our good-byes and made our way over with a million of our closest friends to TSM. Everyone was grabbing FP’s so we decided to just jump in the Stand-by line. I loved everything about this ride!

Me and my Purell clean glasses:

As we exited the ride, we grabbed some FP’s for later just incase Waldo and TE decided to come to the park, they could ride with the kids. I sat on a bench and waited for Andy and pretty soon I spy a Focker.

Margie and her son “A” came over and “A” told me all about his ride on TSM. He was really adorable and so enthusiastic! :goodvibes:

We decided to check out the GMR in hopes of scoring some Dream FP’s here – rumor has it that’s the place. Um… it’s not. Anyhoo, the kids enjoyed the ride – thank GOD the alien part was broken. But how creepy is Sigourney Weaver’s eyes? :scared:

Up next was the VOTLM. Even though they hacked up the story line, I enjoyed this show as did the kids. Andy recorded the show on his phone for Waldo to view later, as we all know Waldo loves him some mermaid.;)

I spied this guy in line and thought of V.
wdw8-27005.jpg

Up next on the itinerary was Animation Studio, so that’s where we headed. I’m new to this scene, so I wasn’t aware of the “secret” entrance and we stood in line with the regular folk. Thankfully there were only a hand full of other people there. It was at this time I decided to call TE and see how Waldo was doing. She answered the phone rather quickly and said she’d call me back and hung up. WTH? :confused3

We found Mickey inside and got into the queue and waited our turn. My phone rang and it was TE, the doctor said Waldo had acute bronchitis. They gave him some antibiotics and cough medicine scripts and TE was in the process of getting them filled and then they were heading back to the room for some rest. The doctor was concerned that it could develop into pneumonia and at his age, wouldn’t be good. :headache:

I felt like we should go back, but she insisted we stay and have lunch. They could use the peace and quiet. I knew she was right, as the kids would be bothering Waldo and not allow him to rest.

We checked out the rest of the area, practices singing Hakuna Matata on the singing computers and said “Hi” to our robot friend, Wall-E. Isn’t he adorable?
wdw8-27006.jpg

As we left the Animation Studio, we saw our friends from Handy Manny and Little Einsteins. Andy got in line for Quincy and I went in search of some snacks. I grabbed a popcorn, a pretzel and a drink and met my family at the Handy Manny line. Well, we ran into Margie and her son “A” and also her 2 DD’s. She teased me about my hands full of snackage! :lmao:

We’ve been to DLR and we’ve never seen “One Man’s Dream”, so we decided to check it out. It was so nice to get out of the heat and look at all the wonderful models of the various parks and park icons. We watched the film and we all actually enjoyed it.

CONTINUED IN THE NEXT POST...

We were ready to get our ride on, so we headed over to TSM to use our FP’s.
wdw8-27002.jpg

I got a much better score this time around.
wdw8-27009.jpg

It was about 30 minutes until our ADR time, so we decided to try to get into Mama Melrose’s early. I check us in and then Evan had to go potty. Just as he and Andy disappeared into the bathrooms, our name is called. We were seated and I texted Andy to tell him where we were. They were taking a long time, so I ordered drinks and waited. And waited. And waited. I text Andy again, thinking he went back to the waiting area and he showed up within a few minutes. Poor Evan got stage fright and couldn’t … umm… go.

I ordered my usual – mixed field greens salad and the shrimp pasta. It was good. Again. ::yes:: I can’t remember if we had dessert, so if we did, it wasn’t spectacular or anything. Oh well.

As we got ready to leave, Evan had to go potty again. This time he wanted me to take him. And naturally Maddie wanted to go as well. So, the three of us head off to the itty bitty restrooms in MM. And then, the three of us squeeze into the itty bitty bathroom stall. Evan’s first and he …um… goes. Next is Maddie and ditto for her. Now it’s my turn and Evan, using his “outside” voice, shouts “Mom are you going to make a HUGE poop, too?” :faint: OMG! I was so embarrassed. I could hear the snickering outside the door. :lmao:

We made our way out of the park, but not before grabbing this t-shirt for Evan. He loves it! He’d wear it everyday if I let him.

Waiting anxiously to check on his Papa:
wdw8-27012.jpg

We got back to the room to check on Waldo & TE. They were relaxed, but bored. As much as they loved the room, they wanted to be out and about having fun with the kids. Waldo was looking forward to eating at Mama’s, so when he asked me how it was, I replied, “Meh – you didn’t miss anything.” He looked me straight in the eye, threw a pillow at me and called me a liar. :lmao:

We relaxed for a spell whilst Waldo told us all about his medical adventure. He said the facility was small, but very accommodating and the staff was wonderful. They took good care of our Waldo.:goodvibes

Our original plan was to head to AK for EMH. Our friend Mo would be there with her niece Kelly and I had wanted to meet up with them. I knew that wasn’t going to happen, so I texted Mo and told her about Waldo and that we’d miss her and Kelly that night.

Waldo and TE really wanted to get out of the room and get some food, so we headed to Epcot, in search of a Cheeseburger for Waldo.

As soon as we enter the park, Evan wants to ride SE. Again. This has quickly become his favorite ride. The rest of us are on SE overkill. The best part is the little video at the end, IMO.

We lucked out again as a we entered WS, a Friendship boat to Morocco was just pulling up. We jumped on and discussed on the ride over where everyone was wanting to eat. I know I want my Tangeriene Café platter, and Waldo has flopped to jonesing for sushi in Japan. We all scrapped our plans and headed to America for some good old-fashioned Cheeseburgers in Paradise. NOJimmyBuffet. Ahh… comfort food at it’s best.

Waldo really felt ripped off on this vacation, so we didn’t whine about him wanting to stay to see IROE. It was really hot this night, as we made our way around WS. We were heading toward China and that’s when we lost him. Some where between the Africa coolpost and China Waldo wandered. It was dark and that's never good when we lose Waldo. Andy walked all the way back to Germany and back and didn’t spot him. We decided to just sit on a very warm cement bench in front of China and wait. We knew he wanted to see China, so that was probably our best bet. About 20 minutes later, we saw this old man carrying a Mickey mouse light-up sword crossing the bridge into China. It was Waldo! He’d stopped to buy Maddie the light sword he’s been promising her. :cloud9: Ok, so we couldn’t really get mad at him. This time.

Waldo and TE headed into China to see the Warriors, whilst Andy and I took Evan over to Malestrom. Maddie decided she’d join her grandparents in China. We walked into the queue and the CM at the door asked Evan to hold the red lanyard. Evan was so excited, telling everyone he’s the “line leader”. We were happy to hear they weren’t running the movie after the ride, so we exited into the dump shop and got this photo of Evan.

wdw8-27013.jpg

We met up with the others right in front of Norway and copped a squat on the curb to watch IROE.

wdw8-27014.jpg

Now without the great ball-o-fire, it was a super short show and kind of a dud. Oh well. We decided rather than fight the crowds at the bus, we’d do some shopping at MouseGear. I was looking for a particular Epcot shirt for myself and every store only had x-small or small. Yeah, that’s not happening. And the sweatshirt I wanted was $60! :faint: I could not fathom buying a Disney sweatshirt for $60 for myself.

Anyway, we told TE and Waldo that we’d meet them at the hotel and Andy & I slowly made our way over to the bus stop. It was close to 10pm and the bus area was INSANE! And to top it off, Maddie and Evan both fell asleep. Some how we had to get 2 sleeping kids and 2 strollers on the bus with this enormous, angry crowd. Why were they angry? Well apparently in the past hour, they’d only seen 2 busses. Everytime a bus would come ‘round people would cheer or boo. It was insanity. The taxi line wasn’t any better.

I tried calling TE to tell her to please hurry up and get to the bus stop so they could help us. Well apparently she lost Waldo somewhere in MouseGear. I told her to head to the candy area and she’d find him. They showed up just as the next bus was pulling in. Whew! We all got a seat, except Andy who stood so another mother could sit with her sleeping child. Never would my husband sit as a woman holding a child, stood.

We got back to our room and crashed OUT! Tomorrow was our last full day and that was sad, but there was something special happening on Thursday and so we had a bittersweet feeling going on that night. ;)

Up Next: We become "them" and then we become something else. :ssst:

I'm glad Waldo was okay. I was a little worried...I hope he takes his meds and stays on a path to recovery.

And...ummmm...what else do you become?

I think I knows it...I think I does!! :hyper:

Waldo is a trooper! How cute is he that even sick he stops to buy Maddie a light up toy! Just adorable! At least the medical care was good and swift and he got meds so he won't have a lousy time.

Hey Tracy... I finally made it over :) Great report... I wondered how Waldo got his name hehe.. now I see lol

The pictures are wonderful :) You have had some awesome meets so far and looks like your family has had a pretty great time. i too long to be a DVC member ...

Awww, poor Waldo being sick on vacation, that is no fun. :sad2: He sounds like a real trooper though!

:lmao: I'm sorry, I had to laugh at your bathroom story.

Seems like Waldo jumped right back into the swing of things-including getting lost!:lmao:
Evan's announcement in the toiler is so funny. I'm glad I wasn't in that restroom with you. I would have been so tickled.

For Waldo:hug:

Glad he got the meds he needed and took it easy, though I was saif not to see you one last time.

Now what do you become;) (FINALLY!!!!)

OMG - no time to multi-quote, but...

1) Love Evan's monorail shirt...I too took a fancy to it the last couple of trips when I've seen it in the stores...and it's mine now...;)

2) My poor Waldo...is he any better yet? For the record, I got sick as well on that trip...and yes, 2 freakin' months later...I'm still sick. Er. Yes, I'm sicker than I was. Give my buddy a hug for me...

3) Evan just cracked me up in the bathroom...in his "outside" voice...heh heh...

4) Hoooooo booooyyyyyyy....I've been waiting for the end of this trip. Report. Can't wait!!!popcorn:: Hmmm...wonder what happens on Thursday!?!?:rolleyes1

Andy, me and the kids headed out the door with TE promising me to keep in touch through out the day to let me know Waldo’s diagnosis and prognosis. ::yes::

Hmmm…. if it’s a must-do, then why do they have open ressies at this time?

The food is basic buffet food, but if Evan and Maddies are into Playhouse Disney it is a cute character breakfast. It has Jo Jo and Goliath and the Little Einsteins. Then they have CM's that come out and sing the MMCH songs. It's cute, but not a must do!

We’re stopped by the crowd just a few feet from the rope when I turn around and directly behind us is our friend Janet, her DNeph Andrew and her DH, Jim. And just beyond Janet is Kate and her family! It's a Fockerfest at Rope Drop! :cool1:

Jimmy was there too;)

They were on their way to ToT and I tried to convince Evan to try it. He wasn’t biting,

He sure wanted no parts of it!:lmao:

Margie and her son “A” came over and “A” told me all about his ride on TSM. He was really adorable and so enthusiastic! :goodvibes:

No picture:confused3

We found Mickey inside and got into the queue and waited our turn. Poor Waldo:hug: I was concerned when you told me he wasn't feeling well!

Poor Evan got stage fright and couldn’t … umm… go.

Poor Evan!

Now it’s my turn and Evan, using his “outside” voice, shouts “Mom are you going to make a HUGE poop, too?” :faint: OMG! I was so embarrassed. I could hear the snickering outside the door. :lmao:

:rotfl2:

We made our way out of the park, but not before grabbing this t-shirt for Evan.

My mother picked this up for Jim for Christmas!:thumbsup2

, I replied, “Meh – you didn’t miss anything.” He looked me straight in the eye, threw a pillow at me and called me a liar. :lmao:

:rotfl:

We relaxed for a spell whilst Waldo told us all about his medical adventure. He said the facility was small, but very accommodating and the staff was wonderful. They took good care of our Waldo.:goodvibes

And a good thing too or the Fockers would have raided the placepirate:

Never would my husband sit as a woman holding a child, stood.

Because he is a gentleman ::yes::

Up Next: We become "them" and then we become something else. :ssst:

popcorn::

Oh I hope waldo has been to the doctors and had a good look over since your trip. That is what landed my mom in the hospital.
Your epcot not sounds like our Aug. trip from last year. The bus just never would be for our resort. Looking forward to your next episode.

Hollywood and Vine's Breakfast Buffet was good .The food is standard breakfast buffet but no complaints from us. I found the service to be very good as far as buffats go and the character interaction was excellent. When alone I avoid most character meals as I want to just enjoy my food !! However the kids LOVE them !!

He looks horrible. He was having a hard time breathing and talking. Almost like his lungs were deflated or something.
Oh no

I sent her a text, “I’m watching you Focker!” and in a few seconds she looks up and spots our brown faces and waves. :lmao: That was fun!
Hilarious :rotfl2:

It's a Fockerfest at Rope Drop! :cool1:
wooohoooo

the doctor said Waldo had acute bronchitis. They gave him some antibiotics and cough medicine scripts
Good job you got him to the Dr!

Now it’s my turn and Evan, using his “outside” voice, shouts “Mom are you going to make a HUGE poop, too?” :faint: OMG! I was so embarrassed. I could hear the snickering outside the door. :lmao:
OMG :rotfl2: So did you? ;) :rotfl2:

About 20 minutes later, we saw this old man carrying a Mickey mouse light-up sword crossing the bridge into China. It was Waldo! He’d stopped to buy Maddie the light sword he’s been promising her. :cloud9: Ok, so we couldn’t really get mad at him. This time.
Awww sweet!

Well apparently in the past hour, they’d only seen 2 busses. Everytime a bus would come ‘round people would cheer or boo. It was insanity.
We had that too :sad2: WDW really need to sort their buses out :sad2:

Up Next: We become "them" and then we become something else. :ssst:
I was like what  until reading the replies when the penny dropped :rotfl2:

She connected me to Centra Care, the medical facility on property, and Centra Care said they would send a shuttle to pick Waldo up.

Exactly what you need when you're not feeling well. :thumbsup2

We’ve been to DLR and we’ve never seen “One Man’s Dream”, so we decided to check it out. It was so nice to get out of the heat and look at all the wonderful models of the various parks and park icons. We watched the film and we all actually enjoyed it.
We saw this not too long ago and enjoyed it as well. :)

Waldo was looking forward to eating at Mama’s, so when he asked me how it was, I replied, “Meh – you didn’t miss anything.” He looked me straight in the eye, threw a pillow at me and called me a liar. :lmao:

He feels better already. :goodvibes
