Does anyone have this? I just started it. I looked for a thread, but sadly couldn't find one. (Is there one? Please? Tell me some fellow DISers are out there out-running zombies too!)
To stretch it out, I'm doing the C25K version first - hey, I'm a new runner - I've just been on the elliptical for 6 years, it's totally different - and it is actually written to accomodate various fitness levels of new runners.
The premise is a blast. You were just rescued from zombies and are now a member of a camp of folks who are holed up against the zombiepocalypse. Everyone has to contribute to be part of the camp. Your contribution is to be a runner. You are Runner 5. If you do the main app you go on missions (30 or 40, I think) for the camp to retrieve items. If you do the C25K version, you are getting in shape for becoming an official runner, but you get to go on smaller missions as well. You can play your own music from playlists in between instructions from the base camp, who monitor you and let you know if there are zombies on your tail.
At the end of each mission, you synch up with your PC and can do all sorts of neat game stuff and tracking stuff.
I'm told that the startup company that did this app is just about to release more missions.
I am soooo enjoying this. I was thinking about running the TOT 10-miler in October, but really worried about my motivation. This will keep me motivated, I think. At 4 workouts a week, with the missions from the C25K, then the regular missions and the missions on the new release, I should have enough to last me a while before I have to repeat any missions.
