Zika virus update

As a note, the above story is for Florida. Other sites have a bit more information, most importantly, they indicate that all of the individuals contracted the illness while traveling abroad (same as the known cases in California). So, it doesn't seem like the Zika-infected mosquito have arrived in the US yet, but it continues to be a real possibility/threat. The California Department of Public Health has a useful FAQ for those that are interested:
https://www.cdph.ca.gov/HealthInfo/discond/Documents/ZikaFactSheet.pdf

The problem is that once a person is infected with Zika, even if it was contracted while traveling abroad, it can spread to mosquitoes while that person is sick. So if that person is bitten by a mosquito while sick with Zika, that mosquito then spreads the virus to the next person it bites.

Sorry, but there have been ZERO cases contracted in North America. None. Don't add to fox news hyperbolic trash they use to get ratings by spreading that kind of lies, please. Spreading rumors and lies about health issues is how we ended up with a quack doctor convincing millions vaccines cause autism.

Stick to the facts.

While I agree that there is a lot of false news out there, non infected mosquitos (not all species of mosquitos-so it can vary greatly depending where in the world you are) can become carriers if they bite someone who is infected, many diseases are spread this way.

If you want facts without much hyperbole (everyone has an agenda), check out the CDC:http://www.cdc.gov/zika/disease-qa.html
