Zegerid vs prilosec??

Zegerid has the same drug as Prilosec; however, adds a sodium bicarbonate kick (I think) to the mix. This is thought to help the Prilosec work better but it is contradindicated in anyone with high blood pressure or problems with sodium.

I loved zegrid 40/1000
It worked better than any drug I have had. My worked changed health insurance coverage. So I can no longer afford it. So I am on omprezole. A generic of Prilosic. doesn't do near as good. If I eat spicy spicey food. I will cough alot alot. I don't feel the burn. I had a surgery the same time I got off of it. And had a bad cough for about a year. I spend thousand of $$$ thinking it was problems from the surgery. To find out if was my medicine not working as good as zegrid 40/1000

I've taken Nexium - worked like a charm - but insurance coverage changed and it's untouchable for me at the current time to pay the premium for it.

So I was taking Zegerid, worked great...

Had a coupon plus sale with Prilosec and it just works sometimes...

I loved Zegerid -- I take Bystolic for high pulse and i've never found that I've had a problem mixing both and even taking it at the same time...

With what you said, I might just take Zegerid mid afternoon and take my Bystolic in the morning like I have been.

I like Zegerid better, just figured i'd ask around...

Hmm 40/1000, i'll have to check the box...

zegrid now makes a 20/1000 over the counter.
but not a 40/1000

My Dr. told me to buy the 20/1000 OTC and take a 20 mg omeprozole with it. he said same thing. I have don't it yet. Because it would still cost me double. But still cheaper by about $150 than buying the 40/1000.

My insurance company says I have to pay about $100/ month to take a 40mg omeprozole a day. But I can take two 20mg a day for $16 per month. Doesn't make since.
