Zales remounting

Has anyone had a diamond remounted at Zales? My diamond fell out about 10 years ago and I want to have it remounted, but I would like to have an idea of how much it's gonna cost before I go to the store. I just want a simple solitare setting.

I had mine done, but not at Zales, but thought you still might want to know. It was done at Jared, which seems pretty similar to Zales? Anyway, I too just had a simple solitaire mounting (new) and had it attached to the old ring. It cost $75.00 and that inlcuded plating of the mounting and a small extra fee to mount an emerald cut (appearantly, it's tougher than most.... )

Well, good luck - I put mine off a long time too - its been so nice to have it back!

My sis-in-law went to Zales (where the ring was purchased) when one of her side stones fell out to get it replaced. The stone was put back, but it looked off set and just not right. About a month later, the metal around the stone started turning yellow, but her ring is platinum. They soldered it with white gold! She is still fighting with them about this almost 6 months later.

I had mine resized and reset at a reputable local jeweler. Not only did it cost less than the mall chains were charging, but it was done on-site. I was very happy with the results and plan to have the ring I inherited from my mother-in-law resized soon at the same place.

I had my engagement ring Diamond Reset at Zales 6 years ago.... and if I thought about it again, I probably would have NOT done it there.

The company that came to Zales was a SUBCONTRACTOR - and not actually Zales. They do these resizing events throughout the country and travel from store to store. Although I picked a nice setting and was pleased with the service, the prongs were uneven and "shifted" - I eventually had the ring fixed at a local jeweler.

BTW>> my husband is still mad at me that I did this.. because I changed the ring he gave me!
