Yummy Mummy's (Disasterous) World Tour

.In January, (my last cruise) the food was better, we met other people in Castaway Cay that had also cruised after Christmas, and said the same...Maybe it is just an adjustment period to the new menus(the first Parrot key night was good, get the ribs)

I am sorry you had so many problems, it does not sound like the same ship we sailed on. We were on the Magic for the 1/25 sailing. Our sailing was the first one, that had ALL of the new menus and the food was very good. So I don't think the food problems you had, can be blamed on the new menus.

Trust me...I can't believe I was on the same ship...it was like I was in the twilight zone! I LOVE the Magic, you don't understand...everyone at home can't believe how highly I speak of DCL... ironic, isn't it?! Word has gotten around school how many cruises we have been on, and Mums stop me at school to find out who to book with, what the ship is like, "is it really worth the difference in price" I should have my own travel agency!!But, in WDW I have heard a few comments on how the food recently wasn't the way it was in January, BUT that was not my complaint, honestly, I'm not really big on the whole food thing anyway. We come from a city that is reknowned for it's restaurants, so I don't usually care about food when I travel..(although Boma was particularly yummy tonight!)
We were all the way aft on deck 7, apparently that was the place that the mysterious part needed replacing...I was told the exact same thing, Donna. I'm telling you sleeping was absolutely nasty that night...
Highflyer
We were pretty sure we would be on the Eastern too...I will email you when I get home guys...no, we trudged it out in Animator's with our servers, and the world's most amazing head server(not ours incidentally..no offence Christophe) but I don't know how to spell his name, it started with a Z, like Zaheer, or something, but he went above and beyond...HE called the engineering or whatever people for us, and had 3 guys in our room instantly...why guest services had a problem accomplishing that is beyond me. I would love to try again, but I don't know how Emma is going to get back to North America...she might come back in May for dd grad...we will see what happens, maybe I will see if work will subsidise if I write an article on the Magic!!(With the way I'm spelling tonight, I will need a proofreader!) All my savings went on this last trip, it was supposed to be the trip that would give us memories to last...not the ones we have been left with, however. The lack of toilet facilities, and the inability to shower the children was pretty nasty, let me tell you..

We were 7 forward...had 7001 and 7003 and those rooms were terrific...I am so glad we had A/C...we could not have slept without it. I am sorry to hear guest services were not more helpful...the ship was NOT full and they should have moved you even if it meant to a higher cat at THEIR cost. Were you originally planning on doing the eastern? I missed that part. I really am sorry it worked out so badly for you...

ok, so I missed our flight today! Then the next flight we were on standby was overbooked, so we are sitting in the Embassy suites near the airport...we are on the 8am flight home...
Donna - no, we hadn't planned on doing the Eastern, but when everything went wrong, I told my best friend to give it another chance, and we would pay for another week. They couldn't accomodate us...only had a cat.4, according to their computer(7500 plus tax please & thankyou)...I guess Tinker Bell was striking that day. All I wanted to do was pay them for another week to make it up to my best friend and our family, to show them the magic I have been telling them about for over 3 years...

Ok...I caught up. You know, sometimes it does not pay to get out of bed...you have had 10 days of that...hope you make it home safely tomorrow. {{{Hugs}}}

Let us now when you make it safely home. I'm sorry you didn't have a good vacation at all. From the sounds of it everything that could go wrong did. Hopefully that will be it for a long long long while!

Made it! Whew!...got up at 3:50am, I was afraid of missing the plane..all went well at the airport, but mega turbulence, I was sooo scared, you can imagine what I was thinking. Got home an hr ago, now I willl start concentrating on dcl...and packing, and figuring out where to start my life over...you know, the usual{giggle}Can't wait to get out of the cold though...

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has given us so much support throughout this "ordeal"! I didn't realize how many people were following our adventures...I was very fortunate to have had the help of an incredible person, who came to our rescue, time and time again...without being asked. I realize now, that he lost a significant amount of money hanging around waiting for us to figure out what we were doing, where we were going(this is on the airport fiasco day!) and then squiring us around.(And entertaining my dd!) People like that don't come along every day, (in fact I have NEVER had anyone do anything like this without strings attached) and although he probably now thinks I am a complete lunatic, I just hope he understands that everything he did for us was appreciated. I know he reads these boards occaisionally, which is the reason for the lengthy oratory! Now for some less somber news...
We had a problem with All Stars when we left, they double charged us for the room, and kept charging us for a deposit that had been fed-exed from Key West, they had a record that they received it, but kept losing it in the system! Charges kept randomly appearing on the credit card, and the credits never showed up. I finally got through to a manager after a gazillion long distance calls to Florida, and she was shocked at all the problems we were having. She was great, restored a bit of faith in Disney. I have to let DCL know all the problems we had, otherwise they can't fix them for future guests...I have to pack a 30 acre farm in the next 30 days though, talk about "challenges"...! I will keep everyone posted...thanks again!Cross your fingers for us!
