Your trip sounds fantastic so far, and the spur of the moment part of it must have just added to the excitement and adventure itself. We too have often talked about driving instead of flying but it would be to DLR instead of WDW but hearing your experience with it definitely makes me want to do this even more. I can't wait to hear how the rest of your vacation went

I think it sounds like amazing fun. I'm originally from the Midwest and a natural roadie. I traveled with a band (as a singer) for 12 years, so I am no stranger to a road trip. It can be awesome fun. And an unexpected education. The US has all these amazing pockets of just plain interesting stuff.

I live on the East Coast now, and have discovered the AutoTrain, which is an experience in itself, and makes the trip from MD to FL a lot of fun and a neat little adventure.:

Anyway, carry on.....I am intrigued by the idea of the report and enjoying the report itself.

Sorry to hijack as well.....we recently went to Carolina Beach for the first time and ate at Britts (or shall I say indulged!). We're going back for Memorial Day weekend too. Any recs of what else we should do/eat in that area!

Still love this trippie. I want to do something that spontaneous someday!

Freddie's Italian Restaurant at Kure Beach is good. It's an Italian place , but they have an AWESOME filet there. The chops are good too.

Ugh!!! I got here through someone from Mn posting about garage sale money today for Disney from Minnesota (long route but hey!) and now I want more!!

So fun! Totally have done the drive a thousand times (just this March to the Keys and WDW) and would love no planning and just go!
