While we never went to WDW when I was growing up (which could explain my addiction today - to much pent up Disney longing), our family was known for crazy road trips, so I am loving this TR!

Possibly my favorite trip was a 14 hour spur of the moment drive with my parents and sister and my brand new fiance to see a soccer game (although, granted, it was a World Cup qualifier) - in a Lincoln Continental! 20 years later, we still joke about bad music (DH was driving, everyone else sleeping and my dad's British Invasion tape was stuck in the player) and bad snacks (ever fallen asleep on top of a package of Twizzlers???) And, yes, DH and the fiance are the same person, so he can't claim he didn't know we were crazy when he married into the family!

Wow, what an exciting trip! I loved your driving details. I believe we are driving in September and mapquest says we have a 19 hour drive! So, not too far off from yours. It says a little over 1100 miles each way. We'll also be going straight through!!!

Your kids definitely looked excited to be there. Can't wait to hear about arrival day.

We feel the same way about Illinois. We always assignlegs of the drive by state and my Husband always gives me Illinois. That state lasts forever. We always stop st metropolis every drive because it is always clean.

All caught up. I'm going to guess and say the price of gas down was lss then one ticket. Great savings. 9 hours one state ugh. It takes us 9 hours to drive to the world I hate it I can't even begin to think one atate. Then again the memories made with the family- priceless. Can't wait to read all about check in and parks
UNCW89 my DD graduates from there this Dec. Heading down tomorrow to order her class ring. May have to take a walk on the Kure beach and look in on the beach house. Wish Britts doughnughts was open tomorrow.
