I was wondering what your opinon is of the Fantasmic show at MGM? My parents HATED it. They didn't care much for MGM at all, in fact. We have two children-- ages 1 and 3... do you think Fantasmic is worthwhile? Can you see this and the Osborn light show?

thanks for your advice!

Fantasmic I would advise you to see it and form your own opinion, yes you can see Fantasmic then see Osborne Lights.Have a magical and safe trip.Welcome to the Dis hope to see you on boards often.::yes:: :wave2:

IMO, Fantasmic is a must do, at least once, to see it.
With music, characters, and special effects it is my favorite nightime show. Well ok, Wishes is probably a tie for my "favorite", but you get the idea. ;)

While I think Fantasmic is overrated (give me the classier, more-adult Illuminations anyday), I always see it whenever we go at least once. (I also think I'm the only person on these boards who thinks that)

That being said, with such young kids, I may skip it this time around. It's very noisy (then again, much is at Disney), and there is a lot of focus on villains, rather than Mickey.

Definitely see it, but maybe the next time you go.

I would not miss it! DW and I make it the one thing not to miss each trip. We took our at that time 16 mo DD to it and she loved it. We plan to go a few times this summer. It does have some scary parts though. Hope you give it a try.

I love Fantasmic!!!!!!! Just hate the waiting so long before it starts to get a good seat!!! I like Illuminations better, though. Don't miss the Osborne lights they are fantastic!!!:3dglasses

I found Fantasmic to be great and make a point to see at least once every time.

I think Fantasmic is great. It is much more than I ever imagined it would be. But with children that young it might be hard for them to wait so long for the show cuz you have to get there early. And there are loud parts that might scare them. So, I would recommend waiting until your children are older.

I love Fantasmic and don't like the new Illuminations. I much preferred the old Illuminations that seemed to focus on the countries and played the great music for each country. My only complaint with Fantasmic was that we didn't get there early enought and had a seat on the edge. That was ok but when the floats with the princesses came by, they turned the spotlights on only when toward the front of the lake and they were off before they passed by to us so my kids (7,4,and 19mos -all loved it) didn't get to see them very well and I couldn't take pictures.

I was really really impressed by it when I saw it at DisneyLand. I was disappointed by the one at WDW when I saw it, but I still think it's a great show - just liked the DL one better for some reason.

We did it once and won't again. It's a great time to ride Rockin Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror over and over again.

I would see it once for sure! It's got the Disney feel to it... with characters and cool effects. We enjoy the more adult Illuminations, which has nothing to do with Disney characters LOL!

We saw this show at Disneyland 1st. The show at DLR is sooooo much better then the one at WDW. I DO NOT miss it at DLR. At MGM, if there are no crowds, and I can have about a twenty min. wait or less, then I will go. However, if you have not seen the show at DLR, you may enjoy it a little more!

WE love Fantasmic and watch it at least twice while we are there. My kids are teens but sat right beside a 3 year old and he was staring wiht mouth wide open the whole time. During the villian scenes he had one tear run down his face but still mouth open and not moving. At the end he was telling his Dad that Mickey won! He also called out the names of the characters when they showed up on the water screens. We were on the third row from the bottom and he said that fire is amking my face hot so maybe you should go a little higher up for the little ones!

We absolutely love it. Last trip kids were 6,4. and 15 months. They all enjoyed it. There are a couple of scary parts but it just goes over the little ones' heads. They are just watching the lights and pretty colors . I think you must see it at least once. We don't miss it when we go.

If you are going early for good seats take along a bottle of bubbles. My teen daughter blew some before the show and all the kids were excited to have them come up their way and it broke up the wait. OH and with little ones try to get in center of the metal things in the water. Two of them make up a water screen for parts of the show. If you are off set it may be hard for little ones to see the screens!

JMHO, but I only LIKE Fantasmic.... I don't LOVE it. But we go during value season and have no trouble fitting everything in and the kids really like it so we don't miss it. Usually by that time of day everyone is ready to sit for a while anyway, so it works out fine. On our last trip, DD had already ridden RNR eight times that day, so we weren't giving up ride time to see the show!.......P

:D

I can't believe there is someone who doesn't like Fantasmic. I saw it for the first time, and the only time so far, in 2002, and there were several moments during the show that I got chills. It is a superb show and if you have the chance, you should definitely see it. If you don't have the time, make time to see it. You won't be disappointed.

We enjoyed the show but do not think it is worth waiting an hour for, or even two as we saw people doing a few weeks ago. We chose to skip it this year since it seemed to rain almost every night at some point and we were afraid of spending all that time waiting and then get rained out.
Also, there are some elements that might be too scary for small children, such as the Maleficent dragon and the fire on the lake.

It's a WONDERFUL show!!! We love it very much!

I have 2 DD ages 4 1/2 and 8. They weren't crazy about it at 2 but grew to LOVE it!

It's someone everyone should experience at least once.

We do the package so there's never been much of a wait for us.

love the show ... do it at the begining of your trip it realy puts u in the disney mood ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo
