Your thoughts on Donald's B?

Please let me know how you like or dislike this. This character breakfast would fit well into our touring plan, but I am also touring with 4 newbies (3 adults and a 4 year old boy).

OK - I just called to make ADRs even though there have been no responses yet. I was able to get SciFi for Nov. 27th, LeCellier for lunch Nov. 29th and I was on to Donald's so I asked Zachary, my "awesome" attendant, for his opinion. He was nice enough to oblige - He was loathe to say anything negative about Donald's, but he asked why I chose it. I explained that it just fit well into my plan but that I was apprehensive after hearing mixed reviews. Without further ado, he suggested Chef Mickeys for the following day and found a nice early ADR. So I am considering it fate Thanks Zachary (the really fast talker). Clearly, when I said "I would like to make some ADR's.", he knew that I am a DISer through and through and we hit it off immediately.

Kuddos to Zachary for being SO helpful and "awesome"!

We REALLY like Donald's, I am a big donald fan so that helps. We usually get later ADR's somewhere around 10am and we get great character interaction. By going later we get the opportunity to get on 1-2 rides and grab a fastpass, plus with the later seating we just grab an early afternoon snack with a late dinner. Going back in October on our AK day

this is one of our favorites!! we(4 adults) always plan to eat here. it is served buffet style and has many great choices--breakfast meats, scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, pastries, fresh fruit, hot/cold cereal,etc. or, you can have a made-to-order omlette. the characters are donald, of course, chipndale, goofy and mickey. they are in safari attire. be prepared for your photo to be taken before being seated; you don't have to buy. if your ADR is prior to park opening, you will be escorted to the resestaurant. if you finish before the park opens you will be "held" at a rope drop til opening. enjoy!!

Personally, I like Donald's, but there are those who don't. Have never had CM for breakfast, but I've eaten at Donald's three or four times. We have always gotten an 8am ADR so the food was fresh. Have never had any complaints about character interaction either.

We loved Donald's! We had an ADR at 10:30, and were able to do Kilamanjaro Safaris twice, plus walk through the African animal trails before our ADR. The food was great and the character interaction was awesome. We even had a crazy waiter to keep us laughing. There was so much food that we weren't hungry for lunch and had a 6:30 dinner.

DW and I ate there last month and thought the food was excellent. Lots of choices and everything was fresh and hot.

We just did Breakfastasaurs 2 weeks ago. We had an 8:10 ADR. The last time we did this was in 1998 and enjoyed it better back then. The hot food is set up right by the front door with two sides and only a rope seperates it from the incoming traffic of people. The cold food is setup more in by the table areas where the normal lunch condiments are. Not the best set up for food, it used to all be in by tables away from the door, more spread out and more choices. So, comparing it to the 2 times I did it 1998 it is not as good.

At about 8:00 everyone was seated at once and then our waiter hurried us on to get our food cause the characters would be coming. The line was long to get the food and cramped. The characters all came one after the other and weren't very good. Pluto ignored my niece who was hollering his name.

The food was okay, but it was a challenge to go back up to get 2nds. I liked the breakfast potatoes and cinnamon french toast the best.

We just felt way too hurried - it was sit, get your food, characters and your done in like 30 minutes. Some families were gone in like 20 minutes. We stayed until 9:00 and were the only ones left in our area and they were already seating more people.

Our waiter didn't even get our drink order before telling us to get our food so when he did come by to get it only my sister was at the table and she didn't know what we wanted (not everyone wants orange juice and coffee)

Let's just say we won't be returning. It was too rushed to enjoy.

We loved Donald's! The food was great and the characters were wonderful. We did seem a little hurried though. But, we will go back there for our next visit!!

We liked it just fine. We had a late seating and got in there later than our seating. We also had to wait quite a while for the characters to come by. Otherwise the food was fine, the atmosphere interesting, and the staff excellent. Next time we'll check another CB out instead--Chef Mickey's or Cape May.

This is a very good thread.
We are going at the end of October and we were concerned as well.

We did Donald's about 3 years ago and it was the first character meal for my two sons. We had a blast, but I was concerned about it this time due to all the reviews.

This year we are doing a 10:30 am and going to try to get some of the rides done first, so we do not have to rush. There is an EMH on the morning we are going. I think not being rushed to go some place really enhances the experience.

Character Meal Strategy -
Never do a character meal if you have a full day or someplace you really need to go afterwards. Example, - We always do Chef Mickey's on our open day. This way we take our time and if the characters take their time, we are ok with this.
I guess you could use this strategy for any themed ADR you are going to do.

Thanks for the feeback I guess that I will keep our ADR with Chef Mickey's and play it by ear. I'm tempted to try it also, but with only a 5 night stay, there are so many times you can eat. Thanks!
