what i mean is where is your special place to just sit in one of the parks and just look around. not on rides. mine is in the magic kingdom just as you go under the main street railroad.i like to just sit there and watch the familys comming in for the day and the look's on there faces all of them. it's so pricless you can tell who is there for the first time ever.it's like for a couple of minutes all is right with the world all problems are gone everything horrible they ever been thru is gone and the only reality is the magic kindom.this special place. the little kids are so great they just get so excitied.almost bring's a tear to the eye. so where's your place.
p.s. WARNING i think this is the cough syrup i just took talking. :teeth:

Our fave place is just to the left of the magic hat in mgm theres a little refreshment place we love to sit there and watch people go buy

I also love to sit outside the Christmas shop at DTD, close enough to hear the music

Mine is Tomorrowland. Two different places. One is outside the Indy ride. Watching the people going by or even when the talking Garbage Can is out and about. (love the look on children's face when they say something and it answers back) the other is by Astro Orbitor entrance. Watching the kids run for Space Mountain.

Ours is the garden in UK Its shaded and not much traffic and you can just sit and relax and eat are fish and chips and drink are drinks.

We love to sit on the Rockers on the porch outside of Tony's in the MK and just watch people. Also, 2 nice rockers on a small porch just outside the exit from the Hall Of Presidents. Rock on!! :rotfl:

The rocking chairs outside of Diamond Horseshoe Review. Also, the checkers games by the Frontierland Shooting Gallery. Rocking Chairs outside the shop by HM. Anywhere in Epcot - esp. by the Foutain of Nations.

We like to sit somewhere near the Tiki Room, eating our Citrus Swirls (a must for every trip) and watching people. Now, we can watch people get spit on by the camel on the Alladin ride. :rotfl:

We like the spot near the river in AK between Africa and Asia. There's a great view of the Tree of Life and it's overlooked by most people walking by.

Mine's not in the parks, but at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Sitting there on my balcony in the evening after a fun day of park touring, watching the sunset and the animals meandering across the savannah...ahhh. Love it.

Goodness. I don't have cough syrup to blame, but I got teary eyed just reading this thread. I am very homesick. I love to go up on the balcony of the train station late afternoon. I love to watch the people and love to watch the lights on Main Street start to come on at dusk. Will October ever get here?

Loved this question.... it also brought back sweet memories...

The rocking chairs in front of Trail's End, sipping lemonade and watching my daughter making friends with the bunnies in the lil grassy area beyond.

The rocking chairs in front of Tony's on Main Street, eating frozen bananas and watching people, or Spectromagic....

The rocking chairs on the porch at the YC, before the Storm Along Bay area...with a good book and a view of the Boardwalk across the water...

(Can you tell I have a thing for rocking chairs?)

But my all time favorite secret spot.... in the garden, in the dark....with Walt and Mickey at MK. When it's quiet, with the castle lit and the when street is hushed.... when my husband and I silently thank Walt for providing such a wonderful world for my family to leave our worries behind and just simply enjoy being together

Sue

i'm going to say that the reason i'm crying is due to the pregnancy hormones..lol. I just cant wait to have the TIME to relax, watch and take in the very special moments with my family on our next trip...

I also wonder...will SEPTEMBER ever get here?? :flower:

Sounds like we all ought to coordinate our visits or I can see the headlines now-"Disney security called to quell disturbance caused by guests fighting over rocking chairs"! Some of my favorite places (yes, they all involve rocking chairs):
In a rocker on the porch of Tony's Town Square watching the people stream in and catch their first glimple of the castle.
In a rocking chair on the porch of the kitchen shop by HM (think it sells different stuff now)
The rocking chairs on the porch by Diamond Horseshoe Saloon
The rocking chairs on the porch outside the lobby at BC
The rocking chairs on Tom Saywer Island facing BTMRR (actually, any of the rocking chairs on TSI are great.

There are some wonderful areas to do this. My favorite spots would be:

1. SItting on the bench outside the Norway Pavilion looking over WS Lagoon at night.
2. outside the Ghiradelli Cafe in DTD
3. Standing over the central garden in the Great Ceremonial House at Poly.

I loved reading this post and taking notes. With 2 boys my DH and I really haven't had the time to just "sit and relax" when were in the parks. In fact I just recently said this to DH after our trip a few weeks ago, that it will be nice when the kids get older and they can do their thing and we can do ours. :)

My DD8s and my favorite spot is teh wisshing well near Cindy's castle ..Its Quiet and youcan watch the people wander down Main Street

I love to sit on the benches and watch the kids play with the jumping fountain at Epcot- I can't wait to take our will-be 18 month old in Oct for the first time!

Main St USA at night. It's the greatest place on earth!!!! :goodvibes

My special place is the benches near the teacups in the MK. By then my feet are getting tired and it's great to just rest of awhile and watch everyone on the ride as they spin around.

But they all seem to be disappearing.

We used to get Dole Whips and sit in the covered area that is right next to the bridge that enteres Adventureland. It used to have tables and chairs and it sat out over the little creek that runs through there. They have turned it back into a meet and greet area.

The other was a small alcove just outside the side of the gift shop at Pirates of the Caribbean. There was a small fountain there with lots of plants. It used to be so nice to sit there and rest, watch people and hear the water in the fountain. Now the fountain has no water and is filled with potted plants.

Also, we love sitting anywhere around the big fountain at Epcot. It is nice to relax and watch people and the fountain. At least that one is still there.

There is a smoking section at MGM that is almost like a little park. It is an area of benches in a section of trees. It is between the Sci Fi Theatre and Star Tours. It is quiet, shaded and in a spot that is easy to people watch.
