your special place?

In the back of the UK @ Epcot! The park setting with the townhomes...very relaxing

My "happy place" is on the walkway between the GCH and the Nanea Volcano pool at the Polynesian Resort. The smell of the torches & Ohana - The beauty of the gardens - little tiny lizards jetting between the greens - the sound of the rushing water down the slide & the promise of seeing the MK across the lagoon once you step onto the beach - it's just perfection! Ahhhhhh.......

Ahh, yes, the English Garden in the UK. It is so peaceful, especially when it starts to rain. ::yes::

I also love (at MK) to take a late lunch, get a cheeseburger and sit outside at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe. I have a table I have adopted as "my table". It is near the wall, looking over the water below. To the left is Tomorrowland, to the right is Cindy's Castle, and straight ahead further away, is Main Street. :flower:

The little street that leads to Mama Melrose between the Muppet Store and the Christmas store in MGM.

The rocking chairs in front of the fireplace in WL, especially late at night.

All of Liberty Square.

Wow, after reading all these wonderful "taking it in" moments, I have realized that my fave spot in all of WDW is very unconventional. :rotfl2:

Ok, I have two. :)

1. I really love going back to the room after a long day at the parks. There is something about coming back to your room and seeing a towel-animal elephant sitting on your dresser. We always throw our bags of purchases onto the the other bed and sit for a moment of silence. It always gets me when I see how much we bring back (the bed is fully covered by the end of our stay).

2. More recently, on our last trip we stayed at POFQ. Every morning I received the most joy while sitting outside at one of the tables eating my Mickey waffle (I can still taste them now). Watching the families getting ready to begin their days at whatever park they have chosen. The children are always so full of energy and I always see little princesses princess: running around excited about the character breakfasts they will be visiting. I always laugh to myself when I know what the situation will end as at the end of the day. :rotfl: Tired, spaced out kids being carried by just as tired parents.

3. Of course, our fave area to sit is inside MK. We too really enjoy the rocking chairs near Aunt Polly's on Tom Sawyer's Island. DH enjoys watching the people and listening to the sounds of the HM, and I...well I really love feeding the ducks :)

France, at Epcot, either sitting at a table outside the little bakery/cafe or on the edge of the fountain. With all that Disney has to offer, you know what my kids, ages 8-15 request, every trip? "We're going to get to sit and eat bread and cheese in France, right?"

Also, right outside the Star Trader's gift shop in Tomorrowland, there's one of those raised flowerbeds, or something, and some benches, and the TTA is going overhead, and it's the perfect place to sit with a Mickey Bar and just...absorb.

We also used to enjoy having our morning coffee at the Counter Service in Adventureland, I think it was called the Tiki Terrace or something, there were tables with umbrellas and it was one of the few counter service places opened early that had coffee. But cramming Aladdin's carpets smack in the middle of it ruined the view, and made things WAY busier.

I love sitting on the benches over by the Mexico pavilion, sipping a frozen margarita, smelling the wonderfull smells of mexican food, with the music playing, just people watching.

hahah yes i love the way the monorail smells and i'm not afraid to admit it!!! I also love the sound the doors make when they close and the little man who talks on the speakers...if he wasnt a million years old I would hope to marry him some day, clearly only if Prince Phillip does pan out! :hyper: ooo ooo oo AND I love when he talks in spanish!!! hes so exotic...so dreamy! :faint:

I remember back in the early 90's, Entertainment Tonight did a story on the voice behind the Monorail. I belive his name was Jack Wagner. He was with the Disney company a long time dating back to the 50's. He even made a few appearances on The Mickey Mouse Club. Unfortunately, he died a few years ago. :sad1: I'm not sure they still use his voice on the Monorail today, but I think they still use it for safety spiel on a lot of the rides.

-the round, cushioned seats on the fourth floor of the Contemporary........watching the monorail float quietly above me.

-the hammocks at the Poly, pushing my toes into the sand and watching the MK in the distance.

-the benches in the Asia area of AK where you can watch the monkeys jump around the "temple."

-on the boat traveling from the MK to the Poly and GF. That breeze is just too wonderful to explain.

-just about anywhere in WS. There are so many little peaceful areas that bring back so many memories.

-of course, the rocking chairs outside of Tony's.

-Restaurant Marrakesh watching the belly dancer and listening to the music.

-outside the Lego store at DTD at night, where you can see around the water to all of the beauty that is Disney.

Wow, I'm sure there are so many more. Just about everywhere at WDW makes me happy.

I also love being in the CR and trying to find the 5 legged goat on the massive mural!

grabbing a rocking chair in front of the bubbling hot spring inside WL and listening to the theme from last of the mohicans that they pipe through the lobby speakers

I have 2 places that mean alot and that I enjoy....at POFQ sitting outside the food court with a cup of coffee real early in the morning....I keep a journal while we are there and that is when I usually write. I love to watch the families coming in for breakfast. The kids are so very excited and hopping all over the place and the parents are in dire need of the morning's first cup of coffee trying to keep up with them!! Then there are the ones who have an early flight out and they are pulling their luggage down the walkway and you can see their faces...some are so sad looking that I just want to hug them and tell them that they can come back again! WDW is not going anywhere!!
the other place is in Epcot by the leaping water! Watching the children and sometimes the adults trying to catch the water and sometimes they miss and the water gets them!! the looks are priceless!!

All of you people are scary stalkers. To sit in the park and watch and stare at people and little kids? I'd advise a session with my father. He is a psychiatrist...I will even give you a break on the price per session...there is help out there...trust me

Mine are the tables at Casey's looking at the Castle. We always get there early before Wishes and then DH and I take turns taking the kids on rides. After they leave I love to just sit there by myself and watch the castle change colors and think about our day and how wonderful it is to be at MK. I am already thinking about sitting there with my mom in October while DH and Grandpa take the kids to ride stuff. I know she will love it, it will be her first and probably only visit. Of course after that I'll probably never be able to sit there again!

We love sitting on the chairs outside of Casey's Corner, especially back when Cinderella's Surprise Celebration was running. We loved to listen to the soundtrack and people watch as we ate our snacks. I hope that show comes back when the current one is done.
