Just wondering if any of you have an opinion as to whether the refurbishments will be finished by summer 2015.
I am planning my first stay onsite for next June but I do not want to stay at the GCH if it will be under refurbishment. If that is the case, I will stay at the Disneyland Hotel.

I don't believe the room refurbs begin until next year, so they'll probably still be underway.

Yes, chances are good the referb will be in full swing next summer.

Thanks, guys.
I am so disappointed. Ever since the GCH was built, I would walk through DTD and look up at the balconies and wish I could stay in one of those rooms someday. Now I have the opportunity but do not want to do it if the hotel will be a mess from refurbs. So I guess I will have to settle for the DLH or wait another year. I just do not know what to do.

From my experience, They (Disney) generally do smaller sections at a time so most of the hotel is just fine.

That is how we felt with WDW and the Poly. We were planning on a WDW family trip, but wanted to stay at the Poly. With all the construction and the pool being closed, that is how we ended up at DLR. However, that being said, I am glad we are going to DL in Sept and then in a couple years (when we can afford another vacation and the Poly construction is complete) we will go to WDW.

Can anyone give me more info? We also have been considering a GCH stay in April 2015, but may opt not, depending on what refurbs are planned.
Are they doing anything to the pool, that will cause a close of the pool?

I don't believe there are any details or a timeline yet regarding the renovation work. Several of us who have stayed there recently were informed by CMs that the work was planned for next year, but I haven't seen anything detailed yet.

We just got back -- our room was near the "secret exit" with a GRR view (400 wing) -- you could clearly see the refurbishments that were going on to the outside of the rooms on the 300 wing, but there was nothing that disrupted our stay. The inside of the hotel wasn't affected, nor were the pools. Don't know how things will be in April, but right now it's not bad.

Taking my 3 kids and husband in April staying in a 1-bed villa and very much looking forward to it. I know theres talk of the 60th celebration so I hope reno' wouldn't be effecting pools. A little construction will be fine but kids are expecting a pool - please post updates of info:)
