Hereyago- The baby shower went as expected. It was all packs of generic wipes and generic diapers no gift receipts. A few outfits, some cute, some intentionally not . One book on manners and she clearly didn't get the reference. The mom to be, who had her cherub today actually, seemed very irritated by the whole thing. She kept saying " I guess no one got the memo" and " is there a gift receipt?" She took her gifts and went home sick right after the shower. She told someone she was going to try to exchange it all or else donate it. I only popped in for a few minutes, but I saw the aftermath. Oddly enough, someone else got her boogie wipes. So she got 2!! They stole my thunder. Lol. I was surprised at the haul she got a lot of diapers and wipes even if she didn't likethe brands.

Hi everyone! Sorry for not updating right away glad soneone shared the update with this thread. The mom to be was just as rude as she has been before the party lots of huffing puffing and muttering comments . She did get a lot of loot, but none in the brands she specified. I heard she actually got two pink outfits which was odd because it's a boy. Lol. Not one gift receipt to be had. I found out over the weekend people were upset with her cause when she left work she put the whole cake in the trash and I guess it hadn't been cut or anything. She went home sick after the gifts. I only got to pop in for a few minutes but she got 2 things of boogie wipes.

I know this is regional, but we don't throw baby showers for second time mothers.

I totally agree! We have a girl at work that had two older children by her first husband. Remarried and had a third baby, so work people threw her a shower. Now a year and a half later, she's having another. So, I get an invitation to yet another "celebration". I mean really???? I was planning on getting her a small gift until I got the invitation to basically another shower!! Now I am just put-off!
