Your Most Magical Moments

Last summer, DD3 was just about to turn 1. We were at MK near the end of the day, and no one knew what they wanted to do. DH, DD1 & DD2 decide just as Wishes is about to start that they want to go on Splash Mountain and BTMR. We are standing in front of Main Street between Casey's and the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, and he and the girls just took off and left me with the baby! WHAT?!?! I was so irritated! I didn't know what to do. It was way too crowded to try and maneuver my way over to SplashM with the stroller.

Wishes started, and I quickly decided that I wasn't going anywhere. I couldn't! I looked around and prayed that no one was going to start screaming at me. I didn't intend for this to happen. I was a nervous wreck.

The baby wanted out of the stroller, so I picked her up and what happened next was so magical! Her little mouth opened so wide, and she was so happy and surprised! She pointed at the fireworks and made that ecstatic face throughout the entire fireworks show. All the people around us were watching her, noticing her reaction and getting such a kick out of her. She would put her little cheek next to mine, and I thought to myself, "This is one of the best moments of my life. You and I here watching Wishes together. I wish this moment would never end." Tears were streaming down my face. I will never forget it. :goodvibes

Probably my best memory or Disney World (and there are many) was on July 4th, 2000. My family and I were at MK that day (crazy, I know). The fireworks display that night was awesome. Best one I have ever seen. It was July 4 and the year 2000 so you knew it was going to be good. The started shooting fireworks over the castle as usual for awhile. Then out of nowhere fireworks were going off over tomorrow land to our right, then they started going off over adventureland to our left, so they had them going in 3 different areas all together. Then they were going off in an 2 different areas behind everyone towards the entrance of the park. Five places total. And the "grand finale" was just beautiful with fireworks going off all around the park. My Mom started crying at the sight of it all. It was truly a memory that will last a lifetime for me!

I love reading this thread and I am so excited about our trip! I think I mentioned it's our first ever, so I don't have any official magical moments yet.

DH isn't big about talking about the trip yet, so I talk with my dds a lot about the trip and what they want to see. Big sis wants to ride Dumbo and little sis wants to meet Minnie Mouse. And I laugh every time they get into a fight that goes something like this:

Little sis: "You going to ride roller coaster?"
Big sis: "Yes, but you're too little."
Little sis gets mad: "You too little ride Winnie Pooh Bear."
Big sis gets mad: "No I'm not!"
Little sis: "Am too!" (Meaning Are too!)

And on a sweeter note, I will be writing in my dd's baby journal (she's 2) about how every time we sit down to lunch together, she turns to her sister and me and says in her cute little baby voice, "Let's talk 'bout Disney World." princess:

It's so cute! :)

My most magical moment was when DW, DD (then 3), and I made our first visit to WDW. It was May 2000. I was 35 years old and had wanted to go to WDW my entire life. When we finally got there and were riding from TTC on the monorail, and I saw the castle and Space Mountain my heart started to pound. Then DD, who I was holding in my arms as I stood so that she could see better, squeezed my neck real hard and said "Daddy, we're here! We're here!" DW put her hand on my shoulder. I started crying. I can only imagine what people thought about that 6'3" 240lb man with tears trickling out the bottom of his sunglasses that day. That was one of those moments I'll hold on for a lifetime.

We had a wonderful stay last September. It was my boys (11 & 10) first trip to WDW. We spent our last day in the park and were having a really tough time leaving. We were standing next to the statue of Mickey and Walt in MK. The "Share a Dream Come True Parade" was ending, and you could hear Peter Pan say, "Ahhh is that the end Tink? Ohhh, I see, It'll never end. As long as there's imagination left in the world..."

As I started crying my DS 10 reached up and grabbed my hand, and he was all teary eyed too. He looked me in the eyes and said, "Thank you Mom and Dad for taking us here." And with that, we all walked out of the park. It was truly magical!

Ok,everyone just stop..My mascara is running down my face.

For a surprise my Sister and her husband brought me and my 2 kids to Disney... She does not have any of her own and therefore adores my kids and wanted to give them something special... we were having breakfast at Crystal Palace and all the characters passed and we went to see Pooh in the middle of the restaurant and we were waiting our turn and the kids were soooo happy and laughing... when I turned around to look at my sister who was sitting at our table... she was crying (tears of joy) and told me that she was so happy to be able to give this to her Godchildren... I started to cry too.... She is my best friend and she is so dear to me...

My favorite disney memory ever happened several years ago when we walked out of the Lion King puppet show at MK in a downpour. No one wanted to move - so our brave little family ran (yes, we ran) to It's A Small World. As we were waiting in line the kids then 6, 9 & 12 each put a penny in the water. As we neared the end of the ride and came around the last bend, we could see outside and the sun was shining. I thought my 9 year old was going to jump out of the boat he was so excited. Apparently when he threw his penny in the water he wished for sunshine. His sister (12) was just as excited because she too had wished for the rain to stop. At that moment they both truly believed their wishes had made the rain stop.
Yea, it's that magical. :goodvibes

For years, my ex husband swore the whole family off of anything Disney. Couldn't even put a tshirt on my kids with Mickey on it. He did let them watch videos so they grew up with the classics (except Mickey). He was an alcoholic, abussive person and we've been divorced for 3 years now.

I moved to Florida in 2003 and decided to take my kids to Disney for their birthdays that year. I have 3 kids and I thought I'd take each kid for one day on their birthdays so we could have one on one time. Well, my DD (then 5) and I were scheduled to go, DS #2 (then 3 1/2) said "I go Disney. I see Buzz and Woody". So, my mother decided to go along and be DS #2's chaperone. She wasn't really interested in going, but wanted DS #2 to be a part of it.

We got to MK and rode the boat over. I got emotional because my ex had said we'd never ever go to DW as a family. Here we were, taking the boat. My mom said it was worth walking around in the heat all day and fighting the crowds just to see the tears of joy on my face. It was sort of a victory celebration over everything we had suffered through over the past 7 years with the ex.

Two weeks later, I got to take DS #1 (then 7) to Epcot. He desperately wanted to ride Mission to Space. DS #1 has severe ADHD and a few undiagnosed "mood disorders" and he didn't like to be close, hold hands, etc. All day long, he was holding my hand, talking, laughing, smiling, and all in all so happy. Later at the fireworks, I had to laugh at him because he said "the fireworks sound like my dad's ____ (gas)." Of course, he said it loud enough for everyone around us to hear. I just laughed at him and said "Yep. That's one of the reasons he's an ex." It was just so funny.

the first fireworks show that we saw was illuminations - i cried it was so beautiful, when i saw Mickey for the 1st time I sobbed!! when i saw the castle at MK for the 1st time I cried (see a pattern emerging here ) :rotfl: when my kids saw illuminations they were speechless , fantasmic was out of this world ( i cried again !!!) everything about our first time was magical, as i type this just now i feel all emotional just thinking about it . it was truly a special time for me and my family dh and 2 ds 12 and 9 years. thank you to anyone out there that has contributed to the wonderful memories we all have from disney, love to all. see ya in 10 weeks and 6 days.  :cheer2: :cheer2:

I just want to say that I am SO happy for you. I'm glad you and your kids got to finally experience the magic of Disney. You deserve it and so much more! :goodvibes

Long Past....

A deserted MK on Thanksgiving Day somewhere around 1990...in Tomorrowland, a space cadet dressed Roger Rabbit actually PICKING ME UP and swinging me around for photos! (Turns out it was a guy I was in Drama class with at school that year...*lol* And I had a HUGE crush on him to begin with!)

My then 5 year old cousin (who is now like 24) meeting her first character (the Sheriff of Nottingham) who proceeded to 'steal' her nose. Everytime she saw him the rest of the day she hid behind me with her hand covering her nose..even during the parade.

1999: Seeing my college friend's face when she saw the castle for the first time...and again later her laughing as Pluto hugged her (her first character interaction...and her first ever time out of North Carolina).

2003: Watching tears roll down my boyfriend (now hubby's) face the first time he ever saw Wishes...the music, the booming and the lights really got to him...and me too (we both cried this year too...LOVE those fireworks!)

Recent Magical Memories from our July Honeymoon:

The wonderful lady who met us as we were wandering away from ToT after learning the line was way too long and there were no fastpasses, who gave us 2 passes she had saying "You look like you are celebrating something, and we're ready to leave...would you like these fastpasses?" (I was wearing my bride ears). Bless her, we were going to skip ToT this trip...but she made it possible!! If you read this...THANK YOU!!!!

Getting given 2 anytime fastpasses by a CM for Rockin'Roller Coaster when the emh lines were over an hour and no more fastpasses were to be had (I can't wait more than 30 minutes without a run for a loo, so fastpasses are a Godsend for me!)

Returning to our room at WL after our first morning at WDW and finding an autographed congratulatory photo of Mickey and Minnie in our room, complete with balloons (what a neat surprise!!)

Getting a boat to ourselves at It's A Small World... we felt so special.

Being serenaded by the Whispering Canyon waitstaff with "Going to the Chapel" while we danced...it was our first dance as a married couple (there was no dancing at our reception).

That's all I can think of now....needless to say, it was a magical trip.

I never really thought of this as a magical moment but it truly was. Not at Disneyworld but definitely Disney related.

It was Day 3 after Hurricane Katrina and after waiting in some type of line for hours every day DS and I were in line at Home Depot to hopefully buy a generator if they didn't sell out. We ended up waiting 3 and a half hours in the boiling sun, no shade anywhere except under my Winnie the Pooh umbrella. This is really a beautiful umbrella that my mother bought me from Cracker Barrell years ago and has all the classic Pooh characters playing in a green meadow. Anyway, I am sitting on one of those big carts that you use to carry heavy stuff (like a generator) and had the umbrella propped over me to create a little shade. This darling little boy, about 4, came over and was staring at my umbrella. I said hi and he said so sweetly "Your umbrella has all the things I love on it." I could have kissed him right then. He proceeded to spend the next couple of hours with me and DS talking about Disneyworld. Turns out his family has annual passes so they go quite often. Everytime we would get off subject, he would say "Let's talk about Disney again." He really brightened my day and made an unbearable wait at a stressful time a very nice afternoon.

How sweet! That sounds like my kind of umbrella! I  Classic Pooh!
