Your Most Magical Moments

What a great thread! I am loving reading these!

So many memories, so little time. I limit myself to 3:
1) my DH proposed to me on the stage in the middle of Spirit of Aloha-
2) having dinner with Winnie the Pooh at CP on my honeymoon then getting caught in the rain riding BTMR but getting to stay on the ride 4 times in a row
3) having my picture taken with Gus from Cinderella and my Grandma on a trip we took when I was 10. My grandma passed away 10 years ago and I hold that memory very close to my heart.

See my signature pics below? Those are only two of the many magical moments we've had in the past four years. :cloud9:

With each trip comes new magical memories. Here are just a few of mine.

-watching my then 2yr old nephew dance with Chip during the Characters on Holiday in Epcot. He was so happy. He turned red from laughing so hard.

-seeing my 3yr old niece who previously was petrified of characters pull Mickey's face down to her and kiss his nose. Definitely brought tears to my eyes. She was so proud of herself for being so brave.

-watching my other 3yr old niece play Mrs Potts during Belle's storytime. She was just precious.

-watching my infant nephew ride It's a Small World. He keep moving his head back and forth trying to get it all in.

-anytime I see Eeyore. I get thrilled every single time.

There are many more but these are just a few. :cheer2:

I have three:
1st time in Disneyland Paris, our first trip with kids to Disney. He was just over 3yrs old and watching Spectromagic, sitting in his stroller, with eyes shining. Snow White glanced over as she walked past and then came back to him and kissed him - all the Dwarves followed her and shook hand with him and his older (5 yr old) brother. The looks on their faces brought tears to the eyes of a few onlookers. ;)
2nd time Our next trip was to orlando one year later. His big hero was hercules. He was wearing hercules socks on our visit to MGM and on our way out of the park we happened upon Phil and Meg. She spotted his socks and made a big fuss, hugging him and chatting to him - he was so thrilled.
3rd time - same holiday we happened to go into World Showcase at the start of the day and his big brother (then 7!) was pulled aside in Norway and given a Viking hat and flag and made 'Viking of the Day' - he wore it the whole day. :goodvibes
Just reminded my youngest of the first 2 and he said 'wow, I still remember them, they were amazing. I really thought 'Meg' was the real character, it would be like meeting Keira Knightley now!!' pirate:
Disney do give some happy memories to look back on :dance3:

These are so great. I love reading all these wonderful memories. We've had some incredible memories through the years at WDW, but it's the character interaction where some of our fondest have come from.

In May of 05 we were waiting in line to see Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. It was my DS6, DS5, and DD5's turn to see them. They got their autograph books signed and we took a couple of pictures. When we were just about finished I started in with tick tock...tick tock...Well Captain Hook went right into his character. He started hiding behind my kids and Mr Smee tried to shoo me away. He thought that old croc was going to get him. Everyone in line was laughing and my kids thought it was the greatest thing in the world. They talked about it all day long and everytime we see a movie or picture with the Captain in it they start saying tick tock...tick tock.

I've really enjoyed reading these memories. Seems like it gets more magical everytime we go. Can't wait to make more memories this coming November the week after Thanksgiving. First trip during the holiday season.

My most magical moment was when my wife and i took photos in front of the castle on our wedding day :)

My most recent magical moment . . .

Got off the bus at MK the evening of June 28 to a drenching downpour, heading to CRT for dinner with the Fairy Godmother with DH and 2 DD's both 8, both grumbling a bit about the rain. (Still bummed about being cancelled out of Fantasmic the previous night due to inclement weather, altho we did catch it later in the week). As we headed toward the castle in our ponchos, DD's realized how much fun the puddles lining Main Street were to splash in, who cares about wet feet anyway, when you're on your way to dinner at CRT? As we approach the end of Main Street, rain lets up, stops, and then, lo and behold, we spot a rainbow in the sky right above the Castle!!! It was magical. :sunny:

It was our November 2004 trip. It was me, DH, mil, DS 3, DD 8. We were headed towards MK to have our breakfast at CRT, DD favorite. DD was dressed in her blue and white Cindy costume, complete with blue cape and white gloves. We took the ferry from the TTC, and on board was Chip, Dale and Donald. As each of them saw DD, the bowed and did the hand motion as they bowed to her. She was beaming. All the CM's called her Princess that morning.

Later on during the same day we were walking behind the castle. DD was still in her Cindy costume, and DS was wearing his Peter Pan costume. Well, the CM's had us stay at the castle and wait, that there would be a surprise for us. The show was going on in front of the castle, and Peter Pan would be coming by soon chasing Capt. Hook. Well, Hook sees my little Peter in his stroller and comes over towards him like he is the real Peter Pan. DS has no idea what to do. Peter comes, sees Hook busy and waves and off they go. Of course it happened so fast we had no cameras out. The cm's tell us to wait, they come again in a few minutes. Well DH takes the camera and goes where he can get us on tape. I stand there with DS, and we wait. Here comes Capt. Hook again, shaking his hook at my lil Peter. Peter Pan comes around, and was gonna go off, but Capt. Hook makes him stop and come over to DS. It was awesome, Capt. Hook was great, Peter was great, the CM's were fabulous, it was such a magical moment. A cm comes over to dh and says, I hope you got it on tape the second time around!! He did of course!!

Disney is magical, and we love it, especially the kids. If one more person asks me why I am going back again, I am going to hand them our video from our trips!! :)

So much of our trips are magical. Kids getting to "work the crowd" with CMs before parades, sweet interactions with characters, the beauty of the parks.

For your visual people, here is some "take me back there's" from trip #1:

Disney Magic 2000

And one with all three trips, two silly kids, and a bunch of fun characters:

3 Trips: One World

Our most amgical moment was on New Years Eve last year.

My DW, DS(6), DS(4) and I were booked to check in Jan 1 to get off-peak rates, but the best airfare was to fly in on dec 31st. We got an off-site hotel for that night and when we got to MCO, we called and got an ADR at the last minute for 8:45 pm at Fort Wilderness Trails End

We got to Ft wilderness, had a GREAT dinner at Trails End at walked all around the resort. We walked to the beach and were surprised by the "floating" electric parade! Allof us were grinning from ear to ear and wishing that we could go into the parks, but we couldn't, because we couldn't check in until tomorrow.

The CM at the docks suggested that we take the boats and go to the park entrance and catch another boat to GF, Poly and Wilderness to see the resorts decorated for the holidays. So, we took the boats to the entrance, showed the boys where we were going tomorrow and went to all the resorts and soaked up all the gorgeous decorations.

It was getting close to midnight (only 10pM back home) and as we took the boat back to ft wilderness, the boat "captain "made an announcement that if we stayed on after the drop at FT wilderness, we could go to the center of the Lagoon to watch the fireworks at the stroke of midnight! We stayed and saw a dazzling display from MK, Epcot and at least two ther places all at the same time! The CM told us that many of people had paid $100 each for a "fireworks cruise" that was essentially what we got, sans the piped in music!

We finished the show, rode around to Ft Wilderness and went back to our hotel. What a magical evening! And all it cost was dinner at Trails End!

We checked into POR the next morning. The only bad thing was that we all got "stung" by tinkerbell and now have pixie dust on the brain! We are booked for free dining at ASMO for sept 29th! :bounce: :joker: :Pinkbounc :rotfl: :yay: :dance3: :bounce:

First of all ... Thank You DemonLlama for making me CRY AT WORK!! I love your videos! I worked at WDW for 6 years, and moved to California 2 years ago. I miss the parks and the magic!!

I have many special memories. But my favorite happened a few years before I worked there full time. In 1990 I worked for Disney via the College Program. I worked in the Cone Shop and Bakery on Main Street.

One night, a couple of hours after the park closed, I was waiting inside the Cone Shop for friends to get off work. I heard the regular main street music change to the music of the Electrical Parade. So, I walked outside. The white lights of Main Street had dimmed and I looked towards the castle and saw the parade coming down the street. They were doing a practice run. So, I sat on the curb and watched.

I was the only person in sight, and it was as if they were performing just for me. All of the free moving carts came over and 'played' with me, showing off how they could twirl.

That night will live in my memory forever. It is one of those moments that you know will never happen again ... it truly was my most magical experience in the parks.

I just got back from my first trip over the July 4th holiday. Iirritated at my DMIL, the DH wanted to ride the teacups, which I can't handle the spinning and my DS did not want to ride so I took him on the Indy Cars. It was pouring down rain. Wishes started as we were in line. As we get in the car and on the track, the car two cars ahead of us keeps stopping. I don't know if they were having a hard time with the gas or were too busy watching the fireworks. But I started watching the fireworks and not them so every time they stopped, I was too preoccupied with the show to notice and would bump the car in front of me, who would bump the car that kept stopping. I look back and there are 10 cars behind us. I am just dying laughing at this. At one point, I notice a CM who I am guessing should be watching for instances just like this. Well, she has her back to us and is also watching the fireworks. I remember making one turn and thinking how long is this track. What should have been a 1-2 minute ride was about 10. It was great. The lady that we kept bumping was with her DS also, and she couldn't stop laughing either. We both agreed that it was the best time!!!

Don't let these boards get you down. Disney truly is a magical place, that will bring a smile to your face and heart. Can't wait until I can go back, wish it were tomorrow.

the videos made me cry too and reminded me that although the really small children fit into disney magic all the way through.....us big kids fit into disney magic just as much, but we're a bit bigger, so it takes a bit longer to fill us up inside!

Two stand out for me:

My honeymoon 14 years ago. My wife was never there and the first night of our honeymoon we went to the Magic Kingdom to watch spectromagic. She had tears in her eyes. That was a great moment.

The second was two years ago when we went to Pop Century for the first time. A week before we were leaving I got a call from my doctor who told me the mole he took from my belly button turned out to be melanoma (a dangerous form of skin cancer). He suggested I cancel my trip. After talking to my surgeon he said go on your trip and while you are away I'll make all the arrangements with the hospital and we will schedule your surgery for when you get back. Needless to say when I arrived at Pop Century the place just blew me away and while I was standing from my balcony looking down at my daughter and my wife having so much fun in the pool, I just got a little choked up. In a good way. Gottal Love that Disney Magic.

When we were planning our second trip to the world, I told DD that we were planning an historical tour of Boston (not that there's anything wrong with Boston) but to a 7yr old princess, it was not her idea of a summer vacation. When we finally told her the we were going to WDW, the look on her face was priceless :teeth: !

My youngest daughter had just turned 2. She loved Sleeping Beauty and was always watching the movie. She also loves to sing. At that time she didn't have a huge vocabulary but she would try to sing along to the movie. Whiel were were having breakfast with the Princess's in Norway, Princess Aurora, came over to my table. MY 2 year old was still in a high chair, but my oldest was 3 1/2 and much too shy to even go near Princess Aurora. So Aurora went over to our youngest to take a pic with her. My little one said nothing to her, but all of a sudden she starts singing "Once upon a Dream" from the movie. We were all shocked that she did this, even Princess Aurora. To our amazement and without asking, Princess Aurora picked her up from her high chair and brought her over to Mulan, Snow White and then Mary Poppins to show that this little girl could sing Sleeping Beauty's song. It was all a magical moment. One that was not caught on tape because someone (my husband) forgot to charge the camcorder battery. I found out when i asked him to record us standing outside the restaurant, just seconds before our name was called. He has never lived it down and never will!!! At least I have pics, but of course it's not the same.

This is just too great of a thread to let die... :goodvibes
