Your funniest experience from 50's Prime Time Cafe

:rotfl: My brother in law didn't clean his plate. My sister (his wife) then told the waitress, jokingly, that he didn't finish his meal. The waitress called her a tattle tail. She left, came back a little later with a paper hat that looked like a "dunce hat", but it said "TATTLE TAIL". Her kids thought this was too funny.

Daunt and DH gave him a hard time about who was cooking in the back and how many moms there were back there so he took DH's camera to take pictures of mom to prove to us who was back there. He went around the restaurant and took pictures of strangers!

Same thing happened with us. I asked a 'cousin' to take a picture of DH, DD and myself. He went around the entire place and took picture of all our other 'cousins' (not strangers!). We still have all the photos in our photo album - good memory of our visit.

Can someone tell me what plane in the hanger thing means??? we are going in Sept. 07 and are having dinner here. For me I am a small eater so I know I won't be able to eat all my food and of course I don't like veggies, YUK!!!::eek: . I have read all your posts and have been laughing :rotfl2: so hard at work. :cloud9: . I just can't wait we are coming down for 11 days Sept. 7- 17th.

It is what you do when you are feeding a baby. You put the food on the spoon and wave it around and say open up here comes the plane.

Here's two questions. I would love to go but my ds might get very embarrassed. It is only myself and him. What happens if you ask for a doggy bag. And what happens if you don't know the words to little teapot. I will play along with these things but when I get embarrassed I forget little things and for the life of me I can't remember all the words to the song at the moment.

There was a tble of 4 teenages next to us. And some were ordering desert instead of dinner and one was on cell phone when she was trying to take order etc. She asked my 6 yr old what to do with them...she said put ythem in the corner. So she made each of them turn there chairs around and face away from eachother like they were in the corner while she got there drinks and told my dd to watch them. When she came back she asked if they behaved etc. My six yr old loved it!!!

Now I feel dumb. I have children and should have known that one. :rotfl2: Thanks for the information. :thumbsup2

I hid under the table at this restraunt when I was little.

I was crabby, and in a bad mood.

I did worse at Chef Mickey's, though....*whistles innocently*

Our "cousin" helped SIL with the words. We tried but, we were laughing too hard. He also flirted with her which our kids just loved and teased her about later. They couldn't wait to tell Grandma and Grandpa. :rotfl2:

By the way, we are all pretty easy going so we all had a good time with this. The "family" really seem to know if you are uncomfortable and they don't push it.

When we went a few years ago with all of my family, husband, parents, sister, her family. My husband didn't eat his green beans. My sister thought she was funny and told the waiter that he didn't eat them all and tried to cover them with his napkin. The waiter said since you were a tattle tale and you didn't eat your green beans you both have to stand up and sing "I'm a little Teapot" in front of the restaurant! They did it, it was so funny!!!

This is one of our favorite restaurants! In fact, last night DH said to me "I can't believe we're not eating at Prime Time next week! (we eat there every trip, I thought we would try some different places). Anyway, last year, DH did something to DD8 - either ate some of her soup or drank her milkshake - and our cousin saw him, made him stand in the corner with his nose on the wall and had the whole room say "naughty, naughty Daddy." I was surprised DH actually got up as he is shy about being the center of attention. He then referred to DD8 as his little princess and she had to keep an eye on Daddy and let him know if he did anything wrong. DD5, who is very shy, was so worried about being reprimanded for having her elbows on the table, that she was coloring her children's menu with her elbows way up high in the air - it was hilarious! I keep teasing her about it. We always have a really good time there.

I Don't Think They Pick On The Younger Kids -just Their Parents. However My 10yo Ds Got Picked On Becuase He Played Along A Lot! My Dd8 Still Talks About My Green Bean Sundae

We love this rest.!!! In fact we will be there for one day next week and I asked dd where she wanted to eat and she said Prime Time Cafe!!

We were there once with extended family that hadn't been to wdw but once years ago and our aunt chose me to pick on. They loved watching and laughed so hard they had tears running down their cheeks. I finally got stuck in the corner and when our "uncle" came into the room and saw me he came to a crashing halt and got the room's attention and told the whole room to say in unison "Ha, Ha! You're in Trouble" in a sing songy voice. To this day the extended family says this was their fav disney experience.

My ds's girlfriend will be there on her senior class trip the same day we will be there. I think I will graciously ask her to join my dd and me for lunch and not warn her.:lmao:

These are hilarious! OK -- so does anyone have any pictures of these "punishments"? I would love to see someone standing in the corner. :rotfl2:

Here is the only one I could find. It's my SIL standing in the corner. I think she had tattled on someone.

I was being bratty, so I had to go stick my nose in the corner.

The first time my DH went, he didn't "get" it. He thought that the waiter was hitting on our DD. Never mind that she was 26 at the time, he got all protective and mad...it was sooooo funny.

Re: Standing in corner

How long do you "stand in the corner". Does your cousin come back and tell you you can sit down again.

My husband and his brother both went to the restroom and when they came back the waitress smelled their hands to make sure they had used soap(good thing for her they had!!:rotfl: )

We've had a couple of fun experiences.

My husband was told by our big brother to keep his elbows off the table. He kept putting them on the table and big brother finally made him wear a dunce cap.

The first time we went my son had the kind of haircut like Joey Lawrence had when he was little where the top is longer and the bottom is shaved like a bowl cut. Auntie Claire said her angel was being thrifty by only getting a half a hair cut.

My DD's were 9 and 11 when we ate here once. There was a young man about 10 seated at another table in our kitchen. Our uncle had my DD's stand up and gave the boy a choice of girlfriend--long hair or really long hair. I'm not sure who was more embarrassed the boy or my girls.

We had two great experiences. We were there for my dd's 13th birthday, she had a friend with her. Our cousin, Topher, went and found a prom date for my dd. You never saw 3 teens with such red faces.

The other time, we were to draw pictures of where we were from. We are from the Philadelphia area and drew appropriate pictures, although not very well. We were introduced to our cousins behind us and exchanged pictures, they were a lot alike. The woman said "Chuckie??". My dh had known her for many years as a family friend. Even our waiter did not believe that he knew her. It was great fun.

We love this restaurant:yay:

We eat at this restaurant every trip...its really the only ADR we ever make, cause its a HAVE TO.

My dh has a habit of cleaning not only his plate, but everyone else's, too. So when I couldn't finish my meal, I handed my plate to him, and he handed his empty one to me. When Mom came back, she praised me for cleaning my plate so well, and I just smiled, to which my son reported that I had given my plate to dh, and didn't really finish everything. I thought he'd get the "tattle tale bit," but no! I had to stand up and go to every table in both our kitchen, and the next room, and apologize for fibbing! My kids loved it!

Another time we were there with my dsis23. She has a tatoo on her shoulder, and one at the back of her neck. Our cousin was just flabbergasted that she'd have tatoos, and spent most of our meal trying to cover her up (napkins, other people's sweaters, a piece of paper with tape) so that Mom wouldn't see!! Too, too funny!!
