Me too! I was 7 and had just made my first communion...literally, rode the coaster in my communion dress! My parents told me that I could do whatever I wanted that day with just them, no siblings (I have 3), and I wanted to ride that coaster!
My very first time riding a coaster was at a local carnival with my mother and brother. I was very young maybe 5-6. My brother and I begged our mom to let us ride so she did and rode with us. If that wasn't enough she proceeded to tell us all through the ride some story about a girl who hadn't sat down in her seat properly and then proceeded to fall out on the tracks and get her head cut off!!!!
Oh yea, that was the longest scariest ride I've ever been on, THANKS MOM!!!
First real coaster, the wooden yellow coaster, now known as Thunderhawk, at Dorney Park in Allentown PA. It's still there, although is now dwarfed by Steel Force!
My first "steel" coaster, and the one I remember the most, was the Sooper Dooper Looper at Hershey. I had my 4 year old daughter there for the first time last year. She was JUST big enough to ride it....she absolutely LOVED it!
The Blue Streak at Cedar Point. An old wooden rickety looking roller coaster. Only had a lap bar and you always felt you were falling out of it. So fun!
Haven't been in a while... anyone know if it's still there.
It's still there and a favorite with coaster enthusiasts from all over! The kids rode it last Friday! You still get lots of "air time"
It's the oldest standing coaster at Cedar Point.
