Your favorite WDW ride....now extinct?

In no particular order:

:earsboy: If You Had Wings / Dreamflight (see this website for a nice tribute: http://home.cfl.rr.com/omniluxe/iyhw-main.htm)

:earsboy: The RYCA-1 post-ride show at Space Mountain. A neat look at the future. Big-screen TVs. Video phones. Automatic language translation. Now everyday items at Amazon, Amazon and Babelfish. [DadVoice]You kids don't know how good you have it today.[/DadVoice]

:earsboy: The original Tiki Room show. Remember the days when attention spans lasted twenty min....wait, what was that on TV?

:earsboy: Horizons, but it would be really dated now. And there's enough video of it on the web to reconstruct the entire ride. Should I win the lottery (and I mean when, I'll donate some of my winnings to re-constructing this attraction.)

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride :(
Tiki Birds :(
Carousel of Progress :( (We don't do busy season.)

Mr. Toad of course!

I'm going to DL in Feb. I'm a little worried. Should I ride it and maybe spoil my childhood memory of a realy cool fun ride? Mr. Toad as a grown up may be a let down...

Tiki Birds? They're still there....do you mean the original show?

Also, that webpage about "If You Had Wings" is AMAZING! I love it, I've visited it before. :p

I vote for the 20,000 Leagues under the Seas submarine. As a small child, climbing into the sub and going underwater was a thrill. It's a shame it's not around anymore.

Indeed. The new show lacks the charm of the original. My family was disappointed.

20,000 Leagues under the Seas Submarines. They where kind of cheesy but it was fun climbing down into the sub.

:jumping1:

1) 20,000 Leagues under the Sea...yeah, to an adult the ride was dopey...but to a child it was very cool.

2) Skyway

20,000 Leagues...what exactly IS Ariels Grotto and is there a ride there? DH is still mad at WDW for nixing this ride and won't go near the grotto area! <shedding a bitter tear. sniff> :snooty

Mine would have to be If You Had Wings, and Mission To Mars, I don't get there often enough to really notice many changes, but those are the main two. Oh yeah, can't forget Mr Toad!!!!

The original Journey Into Imagination (love figment!!). However my favorite ride was CoP. I'll probablly never get to see it again.:worried: :worried:

The got rid of the buckets at DL about 10 years ago.. Too many people throwing things... The rides I miss most from DL are:

The Submarines.. They used to have real mermaids in the water!
The People Mover
The Cars that they put on the people mover track.
The Rockets
Swiss Family Robinson Tree House

But we all have fond memories of our favorite rides... But I do like how they differ between the two parks...

I miss the original Journey Into the Imagination. That was one of my favourite rides :( At least Figments still there though :D

Back when most rides/attractions required an A, B, C, D, or E ticket which you had to BUY in a booklet that never had enough E tickets, my favorite was "If You Had Wings". It was FREE and the A/C was always ice cold. I love Buzz Lightyear, but I wish they would have left the airplane takeoff from "Wings" and "Dream Flight"! I like that part better than what they do now!!:D

Now I can't get that song out of my head - If you had wings, had wings, had wings .......ahhhhhhhhhh!

1) Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (I miss this soooo much!):guilty:
2) Horizons
3) World of Motion
4) The Living Seas ride (with the seacabs)-was this ride called anything?????
