Your Favorite Place to stay near Disneyland

The desert Inn also has a larger room that is more like an extended stay suite that would be good if you brought along your extended family. It sleeps up to eight, is pretty spacious and has a little kitchen in it. The kids suite is really nice too we stayed there with a total of 4, 20 year olds and it was big enough for us so it would be great for kids(:

As someone who works in the hotel industry just wanted to give my personal opinion/info. Third party sites are great for finding last minute rooms - just understand you will likely not be getting the cream of the crop , they are cheap for a reason. You may get stuck with the worst view - you might not , it really depends on the individual property. But if all that matters is a place to lay your head you can find amazing deals ! Just be wary is the best advice I can offer. When in doubt what amenities are offered or available call the hotel to be safe and get confirmation of a name and position so if any issues occur you can let them know exactly who you spoke with.

I have stayed at Marriott Anaheim last year with my husband as I work for Marriott and it was really awesome. Biggest downfall is the parking fees. 24 for normal and 28 per day for Valet. We went the Valet route and it was a lifesaver.
If you are flying in , you don't have to worry about the cost , but it adds up quickly if you are staying several days like we did. We actually paid just as much for parking as we did for the hotel room..lol. It's a beautiful property but with most Full Service you pay for everything - internet especially. Business class hotels such as Courtyard by Marriott often have complimentary internet and sometimes breakfast. It dosent have all the frills such as room service or a resort feel but you can save money. It depends what is most important to you and your family. Just some things to keep in mind :)

Candy Cane Inn! It's a lovely property with free parking, free shuttle, (even though it's very close walking distance) and a nice breakfast. The rooms are on the small side, but they are nicely decorated, clean and comfortable.

I love this place for its ambience, quiet atmosphere (even though it's right up next to CA Adventure) and the awesome customer service. :thumbsup2

A kids suite has a King in one room and bunk beds in another room. The one at HOJOs has a pull out "chair" for an additional small twin size bed, Portofino has a pull out couch that's more the size of a double bed. BTW, we got the kids suite at the Portofino for $105/night just before Christmas.

When the kids are bigger, I will definitely get a kid's suite then. That is an awesome deal especially around Christmas time. Thanks again.

The first time I went in the 90's, we stayed at Jolly Roger, yuck! We stayed 2x at Best Western Park Place Inn and enjoyed it both times, location is awesome, never had a problem and it was very clean, and we've stayed 2x at GCH.

I've driven by the Jolly Roger before and always thought it was a funny name for a hotel. Thanks for the heads up. I will avoid that one for sure. I would love to hear your feedback on the Grand Californian. DH really wants to stay there. What is the highest price per night you feel it is worth? Thanks again.

Priceline. I have a strategy that works well. But I also don't always have set dates and can be flexible.

I will look into that and compare. Thanks again.

Thanks again. This hotel keeps looking better and better. I would love to stay with extended family. DH would never allow it though. He likes to only stay with our immediate family.

Thank you so much as I feel your post could really help others who read it as well. Disneyland is about a four hour drive for us, so we will be driving. DH has also been in the hotel/casino business for a long time and agrees with your assesment. It is part of the reason I have never used any of the travel sites before. He worked for the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas until recently, so we were going to stay at a Mariott. The new company he works for does not have a discount program with other hotels as the Cosmo did with Mariott. You should stay there with your discount sometime if you have not already. It is the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in.

Since there are no discounts to entice me anywhere, I wanted to stay at a highly reviewed place with a good rate. It may still be a Mariott. I do not really care about the view. I would rather stay in the best hotel I can afford in the cheapest room (worst view) than stay at a lesser hotel with an awesome view. As long as DH does not oppose the idea, I may even use a travel site to get a deal.

I like the name of that hotel. This is the second suggestion I've heard for this one, so I will look into it for sure. Thank you.
