If hurricane season doesn't scare you off and you don't have kids just starting school and you don't mind humid weather and hot temperatures and lots of thunderstorms

...early September is wonderful! We home school, so just when everyone else is getting back to cracking the books we take off for two weeks usually arriving the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. We try and spend Monday at Discovery Cove

(never any crowds there) and then after everyone else heads back to start the work week and school year we have ourselves Disney bliss...low crowds, no lines, lots of special attention from cast members, no need to get to parade routes early and my very favorite of all...a special family tradition that we get to share Mickey and company!

This September we will be heading down a week later and doing one week at WDW and spending the next aboard the Magic!
We have gone in Feb. and that was a great time as well...maybe even a bit better if you don't like the heat and high humidity and you don't want to take your chances with hurricane season

.
For our family, it's just a way to celebrate the start of our home school year.

And of course a way to get back to WDW...always a great time no matter what time of the year!
