Your Favorite Extinct Attraction

Definitely Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, and although technically not a ride, I miss the cable cars from Tomorrowland to Fantasy Land.

Oh yeah! I forgot about the cable cars! I love those, though I was always afraid to lean to far to the side. :rotfl: Too bad they are gone now, for whatever the reason.

I know what you mean!!! I don't do heights!!!:rotfl2::lmao: But the views were wonderful.

I'm with your husband on this one. Mr. Toad's was my favorite as a kid.

It's another reason I love Disneyland. They still have Mr. Toad's and Snow White's scary adventures.

I think I was thinking of World of Motion that Test Track replaced. :) Am I right?

What is where Snow White was? And when did it take over? I haven't been to MK in 5 years.

Re: Mr. Toad, when I first road it at age 10, I remember opening the gate when I had just gotten off the ride. I saw my dad and wanted to say, "Dad! We went through Hell!" but to me that was swearing so I had to rephrase it. :rotfl:

Body Wars. And I'm sad that 20,000 leagues is gone because my 10 years old adores Jules Verne books, and 20,000 leagues is his favourite!! He would've loved it

Earlier i said Horizons, which is my overall choice. Here are my choices from the othe parks:

Magic Kingdom: If You Had Wings

Disney-MGM Studios: Backlot Tour (the original version which was an actual tour of a working production studio. Not the joke it has become)

Animal Kingdom: original ending for Kilimanjaro Safaris which was seen only during cast previews and featured seeing the carcass of Big Red

On the opposite note, here are my extinct attractions I'm most happy never to have to see again:

Magic Kingdom: Tiki Room Under New Management (glad Iago burned)
Epcot: Symbiosis (snooze fest)
Disney's Hollywood Studios: Sounds Dangerous (annoying show)
Animal Kingdom: Discovery River Boats (an hour long line to ride a boat for 10 minutes because Disney opened a new park with 3 rides and made the boats impossible to drive)

The Adventurer's Club. Nothing like it, anywhere in the world that I know of.

I've only been going since 2004, so there aren't a lot of extinct attractions during that time. Of the ones I can think of, I really only miss 2 (Timekeeper and Millionaire), and miss Millionaire the most. It was a game everybody got to play, and it was fun to be part of what felt like a TV production, even if it wasn't being filmed. There's far too little of that left in DHS. With AIE going away at DHS, I hope they use that space to bring back Millionaire.

Here, here! I'm glad its back to its original form! I look forward to some original attractions like this and pirates- even if pirates added Jack. I can overlook that since the song is the same and I can feel the cool breeze of the a/c when I walk down the long passage ways of the line. I love the tiki gods in the walls when they move their teeth up and down!

20,000 Leagues. Although, Nemo at DL is a good compromise, if the line weren't so darn long. Skyway between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Before our first return trip since I was a kid, I kept trying to figure where my pictures were taken that were so high and had such a good view:(

Glad I missed the Tiki Room tragedy. It's my favorite. I can't wait to wear my new tshirt.

Does anybody know really why they took down the skyway? The rumor was that somebody leaned over or out, but like I said I think that's a rumor. They were such a nice way to get from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland. (That is where they went, isn't it?) I found this: Skyway deaths on Snopes

Low throughput
Long lines
Low operational hours (closed often in high winds)
High liability (both the risk of someone falling out and the risk of someone dropping something on people below)

20,000 Leagues!!! I remember my first trip to WDW when I was 8 years old & that ride just amazed me. I can't even tell you how many times I rode it that trip.

After that is Mr. Toad's. Which way are we gonna go.....which way are we gonna go.....

And Snow White's was a rite of passage. You haven't lived until you've had the crap scared out of you on that thing.
