Your Favorite Drinks (spiked) Around The World Showcase?

Eva, we will be at Disney May 10-16th, and we would love to meet for a Drink around the World. We are staying at the BWV, where are you staying?

Any others going to be there the same time?

We are staying at the BCV, so we will be neighbors. The 10th we are not going into the parks because we won't get there till the early afternoon. But we are pretty much open for any other day. The first night (10th) we are going to Flying Fish and then on to Jellyrolls if anyone is interested with doing either or both. I haven't made ps at FF yet so anyone is welcome to join us.

I don't get in until 7:30 PM on the 10th and I never miss the Adventurers Club anyway.

Hi, we are in Epcot on Monday and Wed. How do either of these afternoon or evenings sound? My group is me and my husband and my girl friend from highschool and her husband. They are newbies, never been to Disney, and are excited to try DATW!

Can I play??? I’ll be there May 9-14 (Swan & CSR). I’ll be there by myself, and I really don’t like to drink alone! I definitely plan on hitting Jellyrolls and Adverturer’s Club, and I’ve always wanted to try the drinking around the world thing.

We also plan to try to hit Jellyrolls one evening, but we cannot make it the 10th, we have tickets to Cirque du Solei, maybe we can plan another night to do Jellyrolls too!

We are going to be at WDW May 4-12. We're splitting our stay first 4 nights at BCV and last 4 at VWL (have some friends meeting coming for those nights).

I'm not sure if we will be up for another run (twice in one year), but could easily be talked into a few drinks I'm sure.

January was probably our least favorite tour as it was quite cold and we started in Mexico - a first for us. Just didn't work out like the first 3 years.

If your serious here are my tips:

11am - start in France (they won't find it funny so don't waste too much time here - just grab a glass and a pastry and head on

11:30am - 12pm - Morroco, walk around - enjoy your drink (Casablanca is a little rough - try a coffee or mixed drink)

12pm - 1pm - Japan - have no more than two drinks here, but enjoy some tempura or sushi, don't get stuck here though

1pm - 1:30 American Adventure - just get a beer and look around - nothing exciting

1:30 - 2:45 Italy - here you may find some CM's getting a kick out of you - have a drink, walk around hang out

2:45 - 3:30 Germany - get a pretzel! Typically this is where the CM's have started to understand whats going on - beware some will force shots on you.

3:30 - 4 Outpost - talk to some CM's here while you have your drink, we've always found them to be really great

4 - 4:30 China - grab an eggroll, but don't spend too much time here, the CM's are really nice, but won't really get what your doing

4:30 - 5:30 Norway - have some fun here - grab a Ringnes and ride Maelstrom - play on the Viking Ship - but try not to let them talk you into the "viking size" Ringnes - it can only hurt you in the end

5:30 - 6:30 have a Margarita and ride El Rio - relax and catch a parade if possible

6:30 - 7:15 - Ahhh the Canadians - eat some popcorn and have a beer - talk for a while - they have always found us amusing

7:15 - 9 - UK - here is where you'll want to plant yourselves until Illuminations. Obviously patio tables are great, but you may a little too tipsy for this so grab a table outside and get some fish & chips or grab a table in the bar and head out for the fireworks, but hang out for a while, this is where we always meet a ton of people.

I would also suggest a passport to have signed by a CM in each country - a picture from each country and our latest addition has been buying and wearing a hat from each country.

At this point you can stumble back to your resort - preferably an Epcot resort!

I doubt we'll make a full run of it, but would be interested in saying hi and having a drink if possible!

OK! Monday the 12th seems to work for most. Now we just need to decide on a place and time. This sounds really fun. When we decide on a place and time I will put it on the DIS Meet list to see if anyone else wants to join us. Cheers everyone!

Where are you going to post it – Adults & Solos board? Monday is great for me. Eva, I might be interested in meeting up with you guys Saturday night too if you don’t mind (at least for the Jellyrolls portion). I was planning to go there that night anyway and will be staying at the Swan.

How cool to have DR and Melissa kick us off! Does that make us the Disney Irregulars?

That sounds good to me. 11am at the fountain in France? We could have lime green ribbons. But I bet that there won't be much traffic around the fountain that time of day. I hate that DR and Melissa won't be there for more than the first drink. But it will be a nice send off. Or we could reschedule for Sunday. I'm not sure who can make it that day. I'm open for Sunday through Wednesday (11th - 14th). How about I will make a big sign that reads, "Members of the DIS Drink Around the World Party"? OK, everyone that would like to come send me a pm including what time and day works best for you. Then tomorrow morning I will find the date and time where the most can show up. Sound good? Then we can decide what boards to advertise on. Boy! Am I getting excited!!

Hey don't worry about us - like I said we already did this once this year! Our friends are leaving on Sunday the 11th and I'm not sure what they will want to do so really whatever works best for y'all go with it! I think our official trip for DATW next year will end up being our Spring Break next year - the first week of March.

As far as Disney Irregulars (reminds me of the old movie the North Avenue Irregulars - one of my favorites!) if you make it around you'll definitely be a REGULAR!

Don't forget a passport (we get ours at the shop next to the Int'l gateway. This is a good way to make a note of what you had to drink and some CM's will write funny notes. Cameras are a must - you may not want proof, but your friends will enjoy it!

We look pretty much just like our pictures on our website - you should be able to spot us pretty easily.

Oh - another thing to remember is to take some cash - not all the stands will take cc or room charges.

I'm glad we're going to try and get this together - we were able to have a small meet last May and really enjoyed it! Only a month to go!

OK, from the pm's and the posts here it seems that Monday (12th) seems to work best for everyone. We will meet 11am at the fountain in France. I will have some type of sign so we can find each other. I don't know if it will have DIS in it since that belongs to Pete and I haven't asked his permission to use it. But it will say something about Drinking Around the World. We could also set up a possible place and time later in the day so that people that can't make it at 11am could still join us, maybe around 3pm. Any ideas on where we will be at that time? I'm hoping that I won't be back in my room sleeping it off by then!

Right now I have that TDC Nala, SCDizneyDawn, and Pugsley will be there. DATW (Dawn) would like to try to meet up with us later in the afternoon. And of course DR and Melissa will be there to send us off in style. Anyone that I am missing? Who will everyone be bringing? It will just be me (Eva) and my husband Steve.

I'm going to go and post the invite on a couple of the boards. I've been trying to add the meet to the Magical Meetings list but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll keep trying. When I do get it on there I will post back so that everyone can sign up to show who is going.

With the meet and everything I almost forgot that you had said that you might be interested in going to FF or Jellyrolls on Saturday. If you are still interested in either send me a pm and we can set up a place and time.

Also, just to let everyone know, I posted an invite to the meet on the Adults and Solo Board, the Community Board, the DVC Board (under DVC Get Togethers), and here on the Restaurant Board. I'll try to keep everyone updated on who is going.

Great, another Catherine. My name is Catherine too. Can't get a group together without several of them being present.

Melissa's itinerary says we'd probably be in Germany around 3 PM. Germany's a good meeting place - there's beer and more beer.

I won't be sleeping it off by 3 - in fact I am going to the Adventurers Club when all this is over, but I seriously doubt I will be drinking there.
