No, I have the best dog! She's a miniature schnauzer. Dh and I both grew up with other breeds, but now we both say we'll always have miniature schnauzers.
My mom has one of these. They are NOT for the faint of heart. I almost checked myself into the loony bin after dogsitting that crazy mutt the other day.
Another vote for a Westie! We love our Scamp. My mom volunteers to dogsit our Westie - says he is the best dog she has ever met. That's saying alot since we grew up with a lot of dogs. Beagles, Shiztu (sp?), Pug...
We have two collie mixes now. Same drawbacks as the others mentioned. Bark alot. Shed alot. My male border collie mix is a head case. He will be outside for 40 minutes, then come inside and pee and poop in the utility room. He is lucky to be alive.
Norwegian Elkhounds - very smart and affectionate. I could do without the shedding, though! Tundra is our 3rd kid - she thinks she's a shorter, hairy-er human.
Pugs - simply too cute for words. Little clowns that don't "yip" like a lot of small dogs. We've decided that this will be our next breed.
Greyhounds - I've always wanted to give a retired racer a cushy home. They seem so gentle.
