Your experiences with Alfredos???

Two years ago when we first tried Alfredo's, we loved it. We had the fettuccine alfredo and it was delicious. My DH's only restaurant request was that we return to Alfredo's. Unfortunately, this time it was a major disappointment. The fettuccine alfredo was awful - just noodles with stringy cheese - not creamy like last time. And at $18 a plate... very expensive.
The place is very crowded, although we had a good table with lots of room. Service was very good. No problems there. Both my DDs ordered the fettuccine and when the waiter asked how our meal was, they both said they didn't like it. So he changed their meals for spaghetti. We should have done the same!

My wife, four and a half year old and I ate here on 28/1/04 for the first time. Shared the calamari antipasti and as our usual when we go to Italy, we ordered a principali pasta and a meat for splitting. They had no problem with bringing extra plates for the fettuccine and the grilled veal along with the gratin potato. Our preschooler had the spaghetti with meatballs and loved it. For dessert we had gelato in both limone and fragole(lemon and strawberry which were not listed on the menu but we figured we'd ask). Let me just state that we make our own wine and soppressata each year, so let that be your guide as to our interest in Italian food. I thought everything, including the gelato, was both authentic and quite delicious. Service was excellent and prompt though it seemed like the waiter/ess initially pushed us toward a pricey wine until we made it clear that we needed to decide what kind of meal we were having before selecting a wine and suggesting that they bring us a bottle of water con gasi(with bubbles). Remember that in Italy the service you recieve is proportional to the respect you show both to your waiter and the food.

The highest compliment was reserved for the first steps out of the front doors, upon leaving my wife said to me "For a minute there I actually thought we were back in Rome.", a high compliment indeed.

Alfredo's is my favorite of the Epcot eateries. I've been there at least once a visit on my last three trips. The food and service have always been wonderful.

I was talking to a friend the last time I was down there who also loves Alfredo's and knows a few people who dislike it (there are locals). It was explained to him that since much of the Italian cuisine is regional and very different that alot of Americans have very different ideas about what is 'true' italian food.

I will say there is no comparison between Alfredo's and The Olive Garden. Shoelaces covered in ketchup would make a more palatable meal than anything served at The Olive Garden.

I want to like Alfredo's.........I really love Italian food and am use to great Italian cuisine. Alfredo's just doesn't make the mark. I have eaten there three times over the past several years. I have never had a good meal. I ate there for lunch last year as I wanted to give it another try. The red sauce was just awful...really inedible. My son didn't like his pizza calling it "nasty" and he never complains about pizza. DH didn't care for his entree either !:(
You should try it and post your review for the rest of us but don't expect too much.

I have eaten at the Olive Garden once( only becauseI was invited by friends). Olive Garden had lousy Italian food but in my humble opinion Alfredo's is much worse.

We have dinner at Alfredo's every time we are in WDW. We have never had a bad meal there and we have always had great service. Their Fettuccini Alfredo is the best.

Just ate there for the first time a few days ago.
This was my hold-out restaurant.
I've eaten everywhere but there so I thought I'd give it a try.

The waiters were very nice.
Too nice. They tried to push every expensive item on us.
When I wanted a Ceasar salad he tried to talk me out of it and order antipasto which was 21.00 (i think).
When I tried to order the fettuccini, he wanted me to order something that was way more expensive and nothing like fettucinni.
OK..I can deal with that game.
We ordered what we wanted.
Kids ordered the Lasagne. They ate every last morsel. Loved it.
I had the ceasar salad. It was good. Not great.
We had calamari which were very good.
I had the fettuccini alfredo. It was a lump in the bowl which had obviously sat under the lights . I can make better fettuccini and pay a LOT less! DH had the veal. He told me I could make it better too.
I thought it was a lot of money for medeocre food.
There are other places I'm going to over Alfredo's next time.

Been there..done that...not going back

My wife and I had lunch there during our trip last January. Food and service were both very good. She had the fettuccine alfredo and I had the chicken caesar. I highly recommend the desert sampler. We loved it so much we made dinner p.s. for our trip in May.

We have eaten there twice, most recently in Jan 04, we did not like our Fettucine Alfredo, the service was terrible, from the hostess to the waiter. We will not be going there again. Definately a waste of money--in our opinion.

We've eaten there several times over the years and have found it to be consistent- consistently average!

No matter how many times we try Alfredo's, it's always just okay. The tables are way too close and the service can be very spotty. The foods okay, nothing to write home about. If you want to try it, go for lunch so you don't feel like you wasted too much money. I get 20% off the bill with the Disney Dining Club card and I still feel like I've spent too much money for what we're served here.
Needless to say, it's one restaurant that we eat at only in a blue moon and just because my one son likes it. We're at Disney constantly since we only live 3 hours away and eat at so many places, Alfredos just isn't one of them. I won't be there this weekend!

We have been to Alfredo's about 12 times in the last 9 years, and we love it. Yeah, every restaurant is hit or miss with crowds, service, and quality of food. We usually get the fettucine alfredo, which we love! Since there are such strong reviews, you really have to try it out for yourself. If you don't like it, then hey, at least you tried it. And you know not to go there in the future. All I have to say is, I would rather pay $17.50 for fettucine alfredo at Alfredo's than $18.49 for the worst spaghetti and meatball (singular) at Tony's! :)

My two cents- Never ate there due to a number of mediocre reviews over the years, espcially bad service. Finally decided to go last year and had a really nice time. The wait staff went out of their way to be helpful and was very pleasant, nothing like the surliness I read about online. As far as the food, our approach was to have a couple of appetizers and the fettucini alfredo. I'm no food expert but I'll have to say I enjoyed the fettucini alfredo, first bite gave my taste buds a taste sensation. First time there sat in main dining room, luckily not at a crowded table. Second time sat at the side room overlooking Italy's plaza. This was quieter and we got to see the play (?) which went on in the plaza. In fact, the actors came up to our window and were about a foot away during part of the performance.

Like a lot of things at WDW you may not think you will like it or have doubts about it, but many times you can be surprised by a restaurant or attraction. I'm glad I at least tried Alfredo's to form my own opinion.

We ate there on our honeymoon 13 years ago and loved it so much we went back a second time. We tried it again a couple of years later and thought the quality had gone down hill. Gave it a try a couple of years after that and were very disappointed.

We haven't been back in the last 6 years - have too many other favorites to go to now.
