Your experiences with Alfredos???

Our family has had a meal @ Alfredo's on every trip we have taken to WDW. (That's 11 times.) We love the food and the only time we didn't like the service is when we were seated in the back room. We kinda felt left out from the fun.

I will agree the prices are a little high, but we usually use our "Magic Wishes" from the Silver Plan or we have purchased the "Food n Fun" cards years back. (Anyone remember those old Food n Fun cards?)

Just wanted to add our vote in favor of Alfredo's.

OK, you asked: very so-so food for the price and the wait. Try Askerhaus in Norway, or Chefs de France instead. We get better Italian food in our home town in NY than we do at Alfredo's.The only reason we go there is because my MIL is pickier than a kid and will only eat at places that serve "familiar" food. Sigh. So we've been there at least 4 times, and each time was a mediocre as the first. And always sooooo crowded. We swore never again. There are too many fine places to eat at Epcot and beyond.

If people are saying olive garden is better than this place must really be bad. My cousin worked at Olive Garden and said everything is basically frozen and comes in a bag and boiled the olny fresh stuff is the salad and breadsticks (pilsbury). I have been to Rao's NYC we go to Carmine's in NYC all the time so I guess I would really be disappointed here. I may have to try it just to see how bad it really is

Just wanted to chime in. Ate here last week and it certainly isn't a place we can give high marks. The service was fine but the food just okay (at best). And the price is way out of line for what you get. I had the lasagna and my wife gnocchis. Eldest had kid's spaghetti and meatballs (she was disappointed) and youngest had, get this, chicken nuggets...she bit one and wanted nothing more. So, there isn't anything that we could ranked very high. Would definately not go back.

I've only been to Olive Garden once many years ago and that was the last time. I personally don't see the comparision of Alfredo's to the Olive Garden. I'm not saying that I'm going to compare it to Il Mulino or Da Umberto (in NYC) either but it's a very good restaurant (especially for being in an amusement park) and if you like fettucini, try it, it's very good. One of the other posts stated that you will only like Alfredos lasagna and Fettucini if you are accustomed to Stouffers frozen food. Well being Italian, with parents from Italy, we were never allowed to eat any kind of frozen food, but if Stouffers is that good I'll have to try it. Thanks for the tip!!:D

Sorry but 2 thumbs down for me too. We've given it more than one shot and there are just too many other better places to dine in Epcot. The food wasn't horrible but it wasn't very good either and we also have had long waits to get seated even with a p.s. and long waits between courses and to get our bill and so on.

You people are harsh......... LOUD hmmmm well you go to italy and guess what it is loud. So why would this place at the WS be diffrent? I think the place is great. We have been going there for along time and never had a bad meal or bad serivce. This is real italian food. coming from a italian family I think they are doing a great job. So this get a 9 in my book and I think you should give it a try.

Have gone 5 times, sharing Vacation Kingdom Lunch Vouchers. We usually get the same thing: Antipasto All'Italiana, Trittico di Pasta (once we were able to add Veal to this entree), the dessert sampler and a large bottle of San Pellegrino. If my mom is with us (making it three adults), she gets the minestrone, and samples the other things. Last trip we took my niece, and she used the kids voucher - got the minestrone, Le Originali Fettuccine All'Alfredo (child's portion), the dessert sampler and a large bottle of San Pellegrino. We all loved our food, and the waiter's loved the vouchers, encouraging you to order the most expensive items so their inclusive tip is larger.
Have a great trip!

macs4us - What types of dessert are on the dessert sampler. This isn't listed on the menu at DEB's website. How much does it cost??

We are eating here on our next trip with VKL vouchers and it sounds like a good choice for dessert!

Thanks!
;) :D ,

My dd, 10, and I ate here in Dec. We had no PS as it was a kinda last miunte choice. We were seated quickly. After weaving our way through a slew of tables, we were seated in a way-back room. We were the only ones in there!! But, it did fill up. Our waitress was quite efficient. And helpful. Very nice but I had the worst time understanding her! Yes, I realize that these kids are native to that particular country. And her English was waaaay better than my Italian. It just made it hard to understand the conversation. But, I digress. My dd is a very picky eater. She had just plain pasta with butter/parm. cheese. I had the fettucine alfredo and it was quite yummy. My salad was terrific. And the bread/olive oil was, well, I could have eaten it for dessert!! My biggest problem here?? I couldn't get out!!! I got completely turned around somehow and headed for an open door. Turned out to be an employee entrance/exit. The waiters seemed to be having a good laugh at my expense. But they weren't snooty or mean about it. Vey good natured!! I'll eat there again but be sure to leave bread crumbs as I go, so I can get back out the main entrance!!

My dd loved the kids' cappuccino and the Fettuccine Afredo meal. I had the sampler meal, it was pretty good. I think we had the smallest portions for our meal served there than at anywhere else at WDW though.

My mom and I went to Alfredo's about two years ago. It was in early May. We hadn't made any plans for dinner and about 5:30 we were walking through the Italy pavilion when this gorgeous waiter with huge brown eyes named Marcello saw us looking at the menu. He came over to us and asked us if we wanted to eat, and we told him we were just about to go to the hostess to ask for a table. He shook his head "no", lead us to their patio, opened the exit door for us and seated us himself in his section. We ordered on his recommendations, and because it was two years ago I can't remember exactly what we ate, but I do remember mom and I both loved everything. When it came time for dessert, we were going to pass, but Marcello insisted on bring us the sampler, which he did not charge us for. We stuffed that down too, because who can resist?!?!? By the time we were done, we had to roll ourselves away from the table. Marcello called goodbye to us the whole time we were walking away. We were so stuffed we had to leave the park and go rest!! We still talk about that dinner to this day; it was one of our favorites. So I would say, go for it! And tell Marcello "hi!" for me!

We ate there this past Sat and loved it. My daughter (17) had eaten there earlier in the week and loved it so we tried it. Walked right in for lunch at about noon. Husband had a pork shank (22.25) and I had the Fettucinne Gamberoni (with shrimp, $18.25) and they were both delicous and very ample. My husband started off with the minestrone (6.50) and we finished with the dessert sampler which a small portoin of everything on the dessert tray (9.50). They were both great. And I had my refillable diet coke (2.00). It was one of our favorite meals of the week and we didn't have to eat again until we got wonderful airplane food that night. The service was the best of the week too. I thought the dining room, which never filled while we were there was a bit crowded (no more than some of the other restaurants we went to) but beautiful.

If you want an accurate idea of what Alfredo's "food" is like just do the following:

- go to a local pizzeria (the worst one in town)

- take the oldest, most disgusting thing out of the dumpster

- taste it

What you experience will be considerably better than anything Alfredo's kitchen can produce.

Sorry, still LOL!!:crazy2:

Goodness there sure are some haters on this thread. My DH and I loved our meal there. The bread is wonderful dipped in the oils or with just butter. I ordered the Fett. Alf. from the kids menu and still could not finish it. My DH had some sausage entree with lots of onions and peppers and he was in heaven. He also had some wine and I think our whole check was under 30$ and his meal was off the dinner menu. We also had some appetizer although I cannot remember it now..sorry!

Try it you will love it.

Plus it is so pretty inside.:earsboy:

Hate is such a strong word, but in this case it fits.

Food is so-so, and VERY expensive for the quality. Service is dicey, for every good server (never been great there) we've had a few pretty medicore ones.

There are a lot better places to eat. You could also think about leaving Epcot to eat at Spoodles at the BW.

Also, I think you might want to reconsider Teppanyaki in Japan. Basically the food is chicken, shrimp, or steak with rice. It's very good.

We've eaten at Alfredo's twice and it's been great both times. The food was hot and tastey, service was friendly and prompt and it's a fun atmosphere. The second time we went we brought my mother and brothers and they also enjoyed it.

Hi,

Mom & I went here last May. The food was just okay & so was the service!!! It was really crowded too. Wouldn't recommend!
