We will hire a private transport from the airport to our hotel and then from the port to our hotel.

Can you please tell me what company you used and what your experience was? I've done 7 searches and have found mention of SunTransfers and AtoB, but am looking for information about who you used, what the pricing was, and whether you were pleased with the service.

Many thanks!

Barcelona Airport Transfers.

Used them twice from hotel to the Port, each time there were a few of us from our Dis Board Cruise meet thread.

Turned up on time, helpful, clean vehicles, couldn't really fault them. I know they have cars too.

Booked everything on line and I confirmed a few days beforehand, just to make sure they had the booking, which they did.

Certainly worth looking at. We will be using them this year for hotel to ship.

Kate

I just booked with Barcelona Airport transfers for our trip in August. Most of the reviews I saw for A2B were negative. Sun Transfers seems to have mostly positive reviews but not quite as highly rated as what I read for Barcelona Airport Transfers. Booking online was very easy and they responded promptly to my email about port pickup time.

Used Sun Transfers, and I give them a big "meh." We were greeted by a man holding a sign with our last name, who then took us to a taxi van. I could have gotten my own taxi van and paid half the price. It was a big disappointment to watch the meter tick to half what I paid. If I had it to do again, I'd just catch a taxi van at the airport and not worry with transfers at all. There is a long line of them waiting just outside baggage claim. We flagged taxis daily for the four days we were in Barcelona and rode all over the city. They were always nice, shiny and clean.

I see my old friends from last summer's cruise are helping you out here. Wish we were going again. We were not impressed with sun transfers. We would have saved money using a cab. The car was not what we booked and the driver kept missing her turn.

We used Barcelona Taxi for the WBTA in Sept. 2010. The driver met us outside of the luggage pick up. He was really nice. Since I didn't change our money before we left, we waited for us to go to the ATM. Also waited while I had a much needed smoke (sorry, I know its a bad habit). The price was 55 Euros not includung tip. That was for 6 bags and 2 people. He told some things about Barcy while driving us in. I would use them again. It started off our vacation on the right foot. That was what I looking for after a very long travel day.

Yes, it's a Barcelona to UK reunion here. Hey gals! Kate, I see you're going again this year. Lucky! The military discounts were not nearly as deep this year and airfare is high, so we've had to pass. We'll have to wait until the holidays to get our itch scratched.

Any chance you can post a link to this company? I type in Barcelona taxi and a lot of different sites come up. Thanks!

We used Barcelona Airport Transfers last May for ship-to-airport and then hotel-to-airport (thanks, ash cloud).

Ten of us in a van, $10 or $12.50 each (I can't remember).

Clean, on time (or early), roomy (mini-bus) service. Would definitely use them again.

We had an email with printable service confirmation form (in English) - didn't need it, however.

Thank you, everyone, for the names and for sharing your experiences. Any others had different experience? Or did anyone use someone else they'd recommend?

This is also who we used. They were great! We reached out to them ealry (and then passed their name around!:thumbsup2) Our family of 4 with 8 bags from the airport to the Praktik Rambles was 50 Euro.

The driver met us at luggage pickup with a sign with our name on it. He and another driver took all 8 of our bags and another groups out to the car. They had a child seat that was built into the van we were in - I didn't even ask for this, but it was perfect for our 6 year old. Not only was she safe in the middle, but it was raised so she could see out.

It was perfect, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again as they made getting to the hotel so easy!

From the Praktik to the Posrt we hired a bus for the group. I didn't make the reservation but if your DIS group is large enough (we were on the WBTA and had over 100 families in our group) I would suggest this. The bus picked up a group of 20ish folks from 2 hotels (Praktik Rambles and one right across the street) complete with all the luggage. I think that this was another 50 EURO for our family. It was great and the atmosphere on the bus was electric!!

I thought I had read that a taxi from the airport to a hotel in the city was only about 30-35 euro. We are a family of 3 - is there a problem with just trying to take a taxi from the airport??????? :confused3 I know I've read that a taxi is not such a good plan from the port because of the availability & lines but hadn't read of it being a problem from the airport. What have I missed?????

Wow! When I did pricing on the website for one of those companies, the price from the airport to our hotel in the Gothic quarter is 76 euros and from the port to our airport hotel is 86 euros. Ouch! I have sent emails to 2 companies asking for precise quotes. We are a family of four and we'll have 4 suitcases and a garment bag, but adding "extra luggage" didn't increase the price. The prices just seem a little high.

It sounds high but as someone in the same situation as you (except with 2 ppl) thats been the average. We found one place that is 20E per person but that still won't help you out... probably just a taxi anyway.

I'd check with your hotel and see if they offer a shuttle first. Not all do, for example ours, but it may be cheaper.

Thanks for posting this question--I was about to do it myself! I'm also looking for a reliable company to meet us at the port and take us to the airport. We have an early (10:15 am) flight, and I'm sure it's going to be a very anxious morning. :) If anyone has any suggestions as to the earliest pick up time, I would appreciate that info as well.

When I looked around the airport I was not at all shocked by the amount of people there at 9am, I am used to the Atlanta airport, so... However, I was tired (flew over night) and had 2 kids (6 and 13) and 8 suitcases, plus my laptop to corral. There was no way that I wanted to try and find a cab that could handle it all. As it was we were tight on luggage space in the van we had.

You need to remember that the typical van that you see in the states is NOT what you will get over in Spain. Barcelona, and Europe in general, have much smaller vehicles. Our taxi/van was full! there was the front seat and then a bench back seat and a small luggage area. I really didn't think it would all fit. Had we gone outsied and just grabbed a cab we would have been stuck waiting for a van, and then paying whatever the going rate was.

When I wrote to Barcelonataxivan I was quoted below what even their website had advertised. Once I was booked, and told my group what I was able to get I saw that their prices went up. Amanda and Annette (posted earlier) paid more than we did for less people and luggage.

Bottom line, yes, you certainly can get a cab there. Very easy and can be cheaper to arrange ahead of time.

I do not recommend A2B Transfers. We booked them to take us to the airport after our Med cruise in September. We pre-paid, and when we got off the boat they were not there. Apparently they only wait half hour, even though we pre-paid and they never told us they would not wait. Anyway, we had to get in line and take 2 taxis to the airport as there were 5 of us. This was no problem it was a short wait and we were at the airport with plenty of time to spare before a 10:45 flight. They did eventually refund our money, but I still would not call them reliable and would not recomment them. Have a great cruise, Karyn

Yes, our trip from our Hotel in the Gothic Quarter (Grand Hotel Central) to the ship was part of a package we purchased. It would have been to the airport, but we requested the port terminal instead.

I am a person who uses towncar service to get from MCO to WDW, and I would not reserve transfers in Barcelona again. If I remember correctly, the meter said 35 euros from the airport to the hotel. There are taxi vans lined up at the curb, almost all were Mercedes.
