Your creative cruise fund-raising ideas!

We just recently started putting our change in a jar and have a lot of silver in there!
The other idea I had was to take my kids clothes to our resale shop. They pay you cash on the spot after looking thru and choosing what they want. I had so many clothes left after our last unsuccessful garage sale. So far I have made $90.00 and it's all in that jar. I figured it's not getting used sitting in my garage so I may as well take what I can get. I came home with a lot less clothes and more $$ than I thought they would pay me. What they didn't want I am going to take to the consignment shop where I will get paid when it sells. I hope to divide this up for spending $$ for my children. They also contribute a little as well. My daughter couldn't stand it anymore and had to count it so I think there is about $150.00 so far. Not much but we haven't been at it too long either.

I think I will check out the secret shopper as well!

I started an ebay business so that I can contribute to our Disneyworld/DCL family vacations. It's worked out really well and every cent I make goes into our vacations savings account. I've made close to $800.00 in 6 weeks, not bad for a stay-at-home mom! I've made thousands of dollars this way and I've been selling on ebay for almost 2 years. I sell clothing my children have outgrown, video tapes, toys that have never been opened, nintendo games, computer software, books, etc. Anything that's in new or excellent condition will usually sell. I even sold some pumpkin lights that were still in the box that my husband wanted to throw away! It's an ongoing internet yard sale! I love it and I feel good about helping to pay for vacations that my family will remember for a lifetime.

We do the yard sale, eBay, and saving pocket change...but here is one additional method that we use.

We use ALOT of coupons...so when I go grocery shopping I will occasionally write my check out for the "full" amount (the amount BEFORE coupons)...then I take the "coupon money" and put that towards vacation. It really adds up!!

We also do mystery shops for Focus on Service. They handle Longhorns and Bugaboo. Yum! Free and delicious!!!

Great idea about the coupons, gdulaney! I've been in the habit of writing checks/using debit card for rounded up dollar amount and collecting the change in a jar, but the coupon idea is a step better! Saving more than 70 or 80 cents a shot sounds great! Guess I'll have to go clip-happy on Sundays!
