Your choice of a Non Disney Movie becoming a Ride

All I remember of Robocop is a guy in a metal suit who could see stuff on his face screen and he shot people. Oh and someone fell into a vat of acid. Or am I totally confusing 2 movies together?!

My daughter and I were just discussing how we would like Doctor Who. I know it is tv show and not a movie, but we thought that would be cool.

If you had a pick of a Non- Disney movie becoming a Ride what would it be?
Im gna pick Polar Express, I think Disney would nail that as a ride.

During the Holidays, Seaworld re-themes their Wild Arctic simulator ride to The Polar Express. It's like Star Tours but it makes you feel like you're on the Polar Express. It's really cool! I know for certain Saeworld Orlando does this but I'm not sure about the other Seaworld locations.

"who framed roger rabbit" isn't a Disney movie depending on which criteria you use, can I have that?

If not then I'll go for something more off the wall Ghostbusters!

They already have a Roger Rabbit ride at DLR. I've always wondered why they never imported it into WDW.

I'd love to see a How To Train Your Dragon ride. Lots of potential for a thrill ride there.

Does it have to be a movie? Because I think a Nintendo theme park would be pretty awesome.
I've often thought that Nintendo would make a nice 'theme' for a ride or area as well. Unfortunately, may be a little late for that.

Seems like all the really great franchises aren't possible....Marvel, Harry Potter, Despicable Me, Shrek, Back to the Future, Jurassic Park, Transformers, etc....

Often thought that Family Guy would make for a great attraction, but even that fits more at that other park up the road than it does at Disney. :)

LoL they already have this ride...Roger Rabbits cartoon spin, at Disneyland Park in California.

It's not a movie, but does anyone remember the Nike commercial a few years back with Michael Vick when he played for the Falcons. It was called the Michael Vick Experience.

YouTube it. It would be awesome

I gotta 2nd Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory - except I wouldn't see this as one ride, I'd see it as multiple within a whole land! I'd see the candy fantasyworld sensory slow ride (ala Imagination or Small World), I'd see the inventing room as the 4d movie theater (ala Shrek), I'd see the nut room as the roller coaster ride as we follow Verucca down the rubbish shoot (and it would be a fun exit to "imagine":), and the tv room as the simulator ride (ala Spidey) as we get shrunk down and need to the stretched. Finish it off with the rapid elevator ride (ala Tower of Terror) after Charlie wins and you'd have an entire land of candy and chocolates and sweets waiting to be made and enjoyed...and let's not forget the very necessary HUGE candy shop with free tastings (yes Disney, you could spend a dime and give everyone a free trial of their favorite piece with a golden ticket they get when they enter...and sell the extras when people realize how awesome their piece was:)...

You're hilarious! I don't really remember that movie but the title is giving me a mental picture of something yes totally inappropriate but the fact that you want to ride it, has me stitches! Doesn't US have a Robocop show type thingy? Or maybe it's Terminator? You can tell, I wasn't into it LOL

I wish there was a ride (If there is, tell me about it, because I'm gonna schedule my next trip there!) It's not that popular of a movie, but dammit, it's my unusual favourite.

All I remember of Robocop is a guy in a metal suit who could see stuff on his face screen and he shot people. Oh and someone fell into a vat of acid. Or am I totally confusing 2 movies together?!

Nope, that was the first movie (well, other stuff happened too, LOL). Second movie starred "Nuke", an addictive street drug and an addict built into another way oversized robot suit to be Robocop's enemy. :)

The ride could be in "Robovision"! Or use the stupid jetpack from Robocop 3. ROFL.

EDIT: I just came up with it. Revamp TSMM into a Robocop shooting gallery. Perfect! :D

This isn't completely non-disney, because it's ABC. But I would turn Tom Sawyer Island into LOST island! I've never even been on TSI, or even noticed it when I'm in MK. I'm going to check it out next time. But what if you turned it into a scaled for size version of the LOST island? Build it up enough to where you can put a hatch in the middle and leads down into a replica of The Swan Station. Basically it would be a huge version of the Tom Sawyer Tree House. Pipe in Smoke Monster sounds when you are in the jungle. Play the other iconic LOST scores around various parts of the island.

My ds would LOVE it if they could turn field of dreams into an attraction. Especially if he could be on the field, playing ball.

Logan's Run (the 70s movie with Michael York and Jenny Agutter). That totally cool transparent tubular train system whizzing through the futuristic city. I would kill to ride on that! Check it out on youtube if you don't believe me.

There are a lot of cool scenes in the movie that would translate into a dark ride, such as the nursery, the carousel dance where people are bumped off, the ice cavern where runners are caught and frozen for food, the waterfalls, and the last scene where the heroes escape into the sunlight and meet the wise old man.

And the absolutely greatest thing about the movie:

NO CG effects !!!!

(but there is a cool hologram effect where Michael York tells the computer that runs his world, "THERE IS NO SANCTUARY")

Another movie that would make a great boat ride in the Canada pavilion: the classic National Film Board short movie, "The Rise and Fall of the Great Lakes".

Check it out

The Two Towers of Terror and Spaceship Middle Earth would rule...

Indiana Jones-The ride at DLR is sooooo much better than Dinosaur. Especially the queue.

LoTR deserves an entire land, bigger than Avatar.

The Princess Bride-A ride through the Fire Swamp with flame spurts, lightning sand and rodents of unusual size would be very cool. Plus, it has a Princess for instant appeal and character meet and greet opportunities. Heck. Even I'd wait in line to meet Buttercup.

Soylent Green-Might help thin out the crowds.

I would love to see a full-size, walk-through or ride-through Labyrinth attraction - head into the Labyrinth and run into animatronic creatures, out run the goblins, run for cover when Ludo calls the rocks etc

Though this one is a Disney movie, I've always thought the National Treasure movies would be a good fit for a coaster-type attraction along similar lines to Revenge of the Mummy in US - this would be a great addition for me at DHS

Love the idea of Willie Wonka and Fast and the Furious. Or maybe even a coll Wizard of Oz ride but keep it exciting
