Your best Disney fact or insider story...

The creaks and groans of Harpers Mill play Down By The Old Mill Stream.

Along the same lines, if you play the music notes on the All Star Music Resort railings it is When You Wish Upon a Star and the music notes behind the desk at POFQ (although they're about to renovate so not sure if it will stay the same) will play When the Saints Go Marching In.

One of my favorite little details are the footprints on the way out of POTC on the moving sidewalk. There's a footprint and a peg leg print. There are also dinosaur prints on the way out of Dinosaur.

Also look at the painting by the bicycle as you cross the bridge by the IG Epcot and you'll note the painter is painting the view across the water.

I think international Gateway Area is my favorite place to hang out. France and i will stretch it to morocco, Great Britain, the bridges, and the boardwalk.

I have never noticed the painting.

The TTA uses liner induction. Magnets pull the cars along so there are no moving parts (other than the wheels on the trains). So little power is used and it emits no pollution.

Wow, so much interesting trivia in this thread! It's going to take me awhile to read through it all. I'll have to start a list of my own personal favs so I can share them with my family on our next trip :)

so glad I found this it will take awhile to get through it but fascinating and just when I thought I knew it ALL :rolleyes1

I found a picture of that! Fun!

I also stumbled on to quite a bit of artwork for the Beastly Kingdom at DAK. Amazing things were being tossed around. Fantasia was going to be highlighted there too - along with many other a myriad of other exciting creatures and mysteries.

That beastly kingdom would have been popular.

Here is a good post about the history if the beastly kingdom.

At mk look @ the color Of the handrails, gates and lamp posts. The color was specially created for Disney and is called "go away green". There was some research done what what they came up w is that this special green color is such that the human brain registers the color and then Dismisses it so that the brain can focus on the many attractions that abound the park. =]

They use go away green but its not a custom color. It's pretty standard in construction companies.

Back to HM -

The only thing that is actually IN the mansion are two identical "stretching rooms".

The rest of the ride is in the big green box warehouse. And most of it is on elevated track, beneath which is storage.

What is in the rest of the mansion?

I heard this from a CM at CSR a few weeks ago,

About 8 years ago when the HM ride stopped with people on it. A man switched his hat with the hat on the man with a dog near the end of the ride. WDW didn't know what to do so the hat remains today.

Thank you so much for this thread! It is really helping to alleviate my post WDW blues, and giving me so many fun things to look forward to on my next trip. (Only 5 more months!)

PS As I write this a WDW commercial is on TV! Thanks Disney for making me wish I were there now more than ever!

That's crazy! Don't know if it is true, but extremely fun none the less.

I can't believe there are only 289 dolls in Its A Small World. :dance3:

Also with Its A Small World it underwent a major refurbishment in 2004-2005 to restore original music and install an updated sound system. It was closed again in 2010 for something. I have no idea, but my travel companions were very disappointed.

They are returning in October with me to try again.

No changes in 2010 other than a freshening up I believe. This is also when the entrance and exit were reversed.
