Youngstown, OH airport experiences?

We are leaving in one week to celebrate my son's 1st birthday. We are flying out of Youngstown, OH airport on Allegiant Air. Has anyone flown out of this airport and have any general advice, concerns or comments about your experience with this airport or Allegiant Air?

Also, I am wondering with the small size of the airport, is it really necessary to be there two hours in advance as the airline recommends?

I haven't flown out of there in a couple of yrs but I used to love to! It is so small and compact. I wouldn't think you would need 2hrs. Our Airport is about 5 times as big as Youngstown and we never allow more than about an hour. I would call directly to the airport-not the airline and ask them. This answer wasn't much help and I'm sorry but it is a very nice small airport.

We used to live 10 minutes from the Youngstown airport until we moved 8 months ago. The airport is really small. I would not get there more than 1 hour early.

You have to always be carefull when you book with a small airline(Allegiant Air). They only fly 2-3 days a week. So if there is a weather problem, or a cancelation you will not be able to catch another flight out for a few days.
