Do young teens hang out at Community Hall? is there anything there for them? Im thinking of BW pool time btwn Spoodles brkfst & late lunch at ESPN. Not sure if DS will stay at the pool the entire time Im there or not. Is Comm Hall just for the younger kids?
Would it be easier for him just to return to BC room & return?

I think you're over planning and over analyzing your trip. You seem to be planning down to every minute, which IMHO is a setup for disaster or disappointment.

That said there are video games and such at community hall. Teens your sons age? Who knows. For several years we vacationed at the same time as another family and our sons got to be WDW buddies and hung out together alot--they originally met at CH.

At any rate, rather than micor-planning like you are, maybe having some general thoughts but just taking it as you feel like it at the time might be a better approach.

I agree with Ducklite. Too much planning - IMHO. You'll figure it out when you get there. It will either be perfect for him or not. If not, plan B.

My son normally hung out at Community Hall by himself as a teenager (he's still a teenager in age but is in college now). He's the type of kid who doesn't let the ages of the other kids bother him too much so he played video games, air hockey, ping pong with whoever asked him to. He always had a fun time. Of course, his favorite place to hang out was (and still is) DisneyQuest. He could live there 24-hours a day, if ya know what I mean. ;)

If your teen doesn't mind kids of all ages, then he will probably really enjoy his time at Community Hall. I have found that the Cast Members who work there are a lot of fun and pretty good at keeping all the kids involved with whatever activity suits them (arts & crafts, video games, movies, ping pong, air hockey, etc.).

I hope you have a lovely vacation.

Ditto here...you are way over micro managing your trip...go and enjoy...

Here are a few of my photos of Community Hall from a couple years ago. I hope they help give you an idea of what might be found there: click here. I'm sure someone on the DVC Board has more recent photos to share.

DS13 is planning on some Community Hall time this week. We stay at BWV and he usually kills a little time there on our vacations. He likes it much better than the Arcade because the games are free and there are usually other kids there.

I don't think the OP is micro-planning.... I think she just asked a question. My kids played some nintendo at the CH last trip but they were 8 and 11 so not sure about a teen ager. There is an arcade at ESPN that might be a distraction for him.

Have a nice trip! :sunny:

Just as an FYI, if you read all her posts on these boards, she's got tiny little questions on every minute of her day, and it really appears that she's try to micromanage her trip.

I, and I don't think anyone else, wasn't trying to be rude to her. We just were trying to caution her that sometimes planning every day to the minute isn't always the best way to go at WDW.

ducklite,

I was a micro-planner for my first trip there (6 years ago!) and learned my lesson when the only things my kids wanted to do were: swim at the resort pool, ride the monorail and go to MK! I guess I was being sympathic to that need.
