I figured there was a history with Amber, since Lauren obviously knew her. However, I had no idea she was evil in a previous soap-life; especially since she was afraid of Shelia. I thought Shelia only targeted the good girls.

Amber was afraid of Sheila because she had a history with her. Amber first came to Beverly Hills via Sheila. She befriended her when they were waitresses together. Also, at one point Sheila wanted to break up Amber and Rick Forrester so that her DD, Erica could have him so she had Amber drugged by a guy named Lance. When that didn't work, Sheila had Amber arrested and then kidnapped her to make it look like she took off (again for her DD Erica, so she could be with Rick) but she was eventually saved by Stephanie.

Will Kevin end up saving Colleen this time around??? That would be too cool. I couldn't stand Kevin at first but he is starting to really grow on me. Maybe it is because I am so sick of Colleen's spoiled brat attitude like she is soooo perfect and has never made ANY mistakes as Gloria put it!

I doubt it but maybe someday she'll come back to B&B as the next generation villianess! Although she left as a sweet girl shocked at who her mother was.

I've been watching "Y&R" since the 70's when the Brooks sisters were the main characters. I also watched several other soaps for a few years but eventually gave them all up, except "Y&R" but you know what?

I'm seriously considering giving up "Y&R" now. I'm tired of the story lines, I'm tired of them introducing new characters and the old ones not getting much air time. I can't stand Amber, never liked her in "B&B" and now have to put up with her regularly on "Y&R?" No thanks. I hate the storyline that Katherine gave Jill's baby away. I hate the Carmen murder thing. I hate it that Ashley is gone. I hate it that Nick and Sharon divorced and he married Phyllis (gag). I hate it that John Abbott is gone. So many things I don't like about the show anymore, so why waste my time watching it?

I might watch Monday, just to see the murder thing wrapped up, but then I think I'll say goodbye.

I've been watching since it premiered as well. I remember when it was just Katharine, the Brooks and the Fosters. One of the Brooks husband's was Eric Forrester! Back then Luke (from General Hospital) made an appearance as well and David Hasselhoff (sp?). Lastly, I remember Sally Spectra (RIP) was on as Rose. Those were the days.

I could never leave it now for sentimental reasons but I'm not crazy about it right now either due to all these never ending dumb storylines. I'm not even enjoying Victor's revenge on Jack. I like when the revenge happens in the boardroom, rather than politically, and its also moving too slowly for my taste as well.

But I'll be here till the bitter end.

Back then Luke (from General Hospital) made an appearance as well and David Hasselhoff (sp?). Lastly, I remember Sally Spectra (RIP) was on as Rose. Those were the days.

I could never leave it now for sentimental reasons but I'm not crazy about it right now either due to all these never ending dumb storylines. I'm not even enjoying Victor's revenge on Jack. I like when the revenge happens in the boardroom, rather than politically, and its also moving too slowly for my taste as well.

me to...I have been there from the 70's and I also remember when Brooke was just a waitress, and they did a catering job at the forresters house! remember that? and she took a shine to Ridge.....but I would never stop watching it. I could not do it. I like Pyllis with Nick...sharon was getting to , boring.

Regarding Y&R, sorry but I can't get past how much older Phyllis is to Nick and how evil she used to be (I actually enjoyed Phyllis more when she was evil and with Michael; now they were great together!). I was hoping Nick and Sharon would be the next super couple. Maybe they still will be in the future and Phyllis is just a bump in the road. One can only hope.

Holy cow, you're old!!

I started watching it in the 80's. When I was in high school. I don't remember what was going on at that time. I do remember it when Nina's baby got stolen and when Cricket was a model. I remember Lauren with Danny and then Tracy wtih Danny. That seemed so long ago!!

I didn't watch B&B from the very start but I have seen that footage of when Brooke met Eric and Ridge. Boy did they look young!

Hey! I resemble that remark!! Actually, I was only 7 when it premiered in 1973 but I lived in China so we got the new shows 2 years later...so I was almost 10 when I watched it from the beginning!

Well all of you have been watching it a lot longer than me. I just started watching it early in '06. I jumped on the band wagon not too long before Nick and Phyllis hooked up - that whole scandal hooked me! But I still want to see Nick and Sharon back together...they were just a good fit...I could see that after only a couple months.

As someone else mentioned, I am SICK SICK SICK of Amber. Her charater really annoys me...it's like hearing nails on a chalkboard.

Isn't it funny how closely these old Y&R names resemble the B&B names Brooke and the Forrester's? (and Brooke Forrester is played by a Katharine, that one is a coincidence!)

I do know William Bell used some family names for his soaps. Lauralee, Bradley, I think even Colleen are all his kids/grandkids names and had characters named for them. Lee "Phillip" Bell was his wife. There are more I think.

I truly hope so!!! I know at one point they were talking about Sharon Case's contract being up in April- anybody know the latest on that?

OT: Remember when Victoria wanted Brad to marry Ashley (instead of Ashley marrying Victor) so her parents would get back together?? I think that was right when they brought her back to GC after her stint in Swiss Boarding school (AKA: send the 7 year old away and bring them back in 9-12 months 10 years older!!)

Another recent change I didn't go for was the last Billy (or Mackenzie for that matter). I just didn't by that actor playing him. I guess I liked the original David Thom role!!
Do you think they will ever bring Billy or Mackenzie?

I'm all for original actors rather than their replacements. I guess I'm set in my ways. So I didn't like the new Lily, Coleen, Victoria (although she doesn't bug me as much as the other two), Billy and Mack etc....

I do, however, enjoy the current Phyllis and the current Jill. They do their parts justice.

Just how Nick and Phyllis bug me due to the age difference, I also can't stand Victoria with Brad and Jack with Sharon. These people were babies not too long ago and their significant others were like parents to them!

I actually like the new Victoria- she does the part the best since Heather Thom left. Isn't this Phllyis the original Phylils? I know there was another one at one point, but I thought Michelle Stafford was the original one way back when all the Danny/Cricket/Phllyis junk began...?

Speaking of Sharon and Jack, I think they might be alluding to a Sharon/David Ciao (sp?) romance in the future (or at least testing the waters of it).

OT: Remember when Victoria and Neil were engaged for 5 minutes?????
