Lily's Devastating Diagnosis!

While waiting in a hospital room to find out what's been wrong with her, a nervous Lily can't help wishing Cane was by her side. "Despite what happened, she still really loves him," affirms Christel Khalil. "I think that in facing this latest challenge, she realizes life is too short to just give up on someone. She now believes that Cane pretended to be Jill's son because he wanted to have a family. He isn't a bad person, so Lily wants to be with him.

Colleen drops by and Lily admits how much she misses Cane and wants to be with him. Outside, Olivia approaches Lily's room with the test results and her sad expression is immediately noticed by Neil and Devon. "Lily has cancer," says Khalil. "Everyone is pretty upset. Neil tries to be strong and urges his daughter not to give up hope."

As Olivia tells Lily about the course of treatment, Lily is stunned to learn that even if she survives, she will more than likely lose all her reproductive organs. "That really hits Lily hard," notes Khalil. "She's been trying to start a family with Cane and now she finds out that she may never be able to have children at all. That's really devastating to her."

Meanwhile, Colleen informs Billy and Mac of Lily's cancer and asks Billy to find Cane. Billy refuses, so Mac decides to find Cane herself and tracks him down at the bus station, where he's just about to skip town. "Everyone is pretty much telling Cane to go," says Daniel Goddard. "Lily has given him back his wedding ring, so there's nothing left there for him. When Mac tells him that Lily needs him, he doesn't believe it. Then Mac just blurts out, 'You can't leave. Lily has cancer.'"

Cane is stunned and confused. "What do you do with that?" poses Goddard. "You find out that the love of your life has cancer and she's rejected you. There's part of you that can leave, there's part of you that can think she doesn't want you, but then there's a part of you that knows you need to make it right."

Mac manages to get Cane to at least stay in town and offers him Billy's trailer to stay in. Cane agrees, but when Mac tells him to go be with Lily, he doesn't think his presence would necessarily be the best medicine. "It's heartbreaking for him," explains Goddard.

Back at the hospital, Neil tells Lily he's taking a leave of absence from Chancellor Industries. Lily fears she must really be a goner if Neil is abandoning work. Mac stops by and brings Lily a laptop and DVD's of her favorite movies. "What she doesn't know is that Cane told Mac this would cheer her up," smiles Khalil. "Lily is really happy. She says, 'I don't know how you knew, Mac, but this is exactly what I needed.' Mac doesn't say anything about Cane being behind it."

Mac then goes back to the trailer and tells Cane about Lily's upcoming surgery. After Mac leaves, Billy shows up and is unhappy to see his faux-brother. "Cane is coming out of the shower and Billy thinks he and Mac are sleeping together," groans Goddard. "Billy kicks him out and tells Cane never to come back. Now it's a really tough time for Cane because he has nowhere to go. he isn't sure what to do, but he really wants to be there for the woman he loves."

Meanwhile, Olivia tells Lily and Neil that she managed to recruit one of the leading gynecological oncologists to perform Lily's surgery that day, but Lily refuses to go under the knife that quickly. "She wants to have her eggs harvested before the surgery," says Khalil. "Olivia says it's not a good idea because she doesn't know how advanced the cancer is, so it isn't wise to wait. But Lily says she has to do this."

Olivia and Neil pressure Lily to go ahead and get the surgery done, but when they leave the room, Lily sneaks out. "She leaves the hospital to search for Cane," says Khalil. "She still really loves him and needs to talk to him."

First, Lily drops by Jimmy's, where Mac and Billy are arguing about Cane. "Billy thinks Lily shouldn't be around Cane, but Mac is like, 'She needs him,'" says Khalil. "That's when Lily tells Billy that she does need Cane. So Billy finally realizes that Mac is right."

Billy then promises to fine Cane, but has he already driven his faux-bro out of Genoa City?

A Closer Look -- Adam

Adam's myriad manipulations come to a head this week when he sets up Mary Jane to take the fall for gaslighting Ashley and then breaks up with Rafe -- moments before Victor confronts him about being gay. Michael Muhney reflects on it all.

WEEKLY: What are you thoughts on the conniving Adam?

MUHNEY: He's a budding young Jedi puppeteer. He's trying to master his Jedi skills on his father.

WEEKLY: The week begins with Adam asking Heather for help to stop Victor from sending him to a halfway house. Why?

MUHNEY: Adam wants every effort made to keep him at the ranch. It's a necessary function of his vengeance to stay there.

WEEKLY: Adam helps his cause when he heads out to warn Mary Jane that Victor is offering a reward for her arrest. What happens?

MUHNEY: There's a moment of spontaneity as Adam is about to climb out of his window. It strikes him that if he doesn't flip his ankle monitor off, he can concoct a story and get the cops tracking him.

WEEKLY: When Gil arrives, Adam says he was chasing a woman matching Mary Jane's description. Right?

MUHNEY: Exactly. His story is that he first believed it was Victoria, but when he called out to her, she took off running. He knows his half-sister wouldn't do that. So he chased after her. Adam conveniently retreats back to the main house and says, "Hey guys, I just missed it, but guess what happened?" With his ailing eyesight, he's not going to make that good of a witness, but he'll do his best to describe who he thinks he say. What plays in his favor is the ambiguity. It sort of clears him from everything.

WEEKLY: After the police search the grounds and find Mary Jane's things, Victor decides to keep Adam at the ranch. Is Adam happy?

MUHNEY: It's an against-all-odds moment. Adam is like a cat with nine lives. Yet again, tragedy and bullets are averted. He can wipe his brow and take a deep breath.

WEEKLY: Rafe nearly runs into Heather and Adam post-lovemaking. What happens?

MUHNEY: Rafe catches on to the fact that Adam is still having relations with Heather. It's a fight-or-flight moment. Adam either has to tell Rafe the truth or keep spinning his lies and pretend everything is perfectly fine between then. Adam tells Rafe that he has real feelings for Heather. It's one of the rare moments in which Adam is regretting the webs he's been spinning. He realizes that along the way, he's actually hurting people.

WEEKLY: Adam breaks up with Rafe. What's Rafe's reaction?

MUHNEY: Rafe thinks Adam is tentative, because it's a really hard process to come out of the closet. Adam explains that he was expressing himself to Rafe in a certain way, when he really should have gone about things differently. It's his way of lessening the blow. Adam says he wants to be with Heather. He sees a future with her, and that's where his life is headed.

WEEKLY: After Rafe leaves, things get even more dicey. Victor confronts Adam about being gay. How does Adam respond?

MUHNEY: When Victor comes in, Adam feels there's some heat. With his guilty conscience, he's thinking, "Which one of the thousand lies that I've told is he about to expose?" As soon as Victor brings up the gay thing, Adam is somewhat relieved. That's the least of his problems. He tells Victor, "Let's clear this up right now. I'm not. Don't worry." But Victor insists that he knows Adam is gay, that it's out there now.

WEEKLY: Is Adam worried about Heather hearing this? And how does he feel about his father believing he's gay?

MUHNEY: It doesn't cross Adam's mind that this can get back to Heather. At this moment, he's more concerned about the issue between him and his father. He's worried about what Victor thinks of him and how he's going to be seen by his father. Is Victor going to take him in or reject him? And if his dad knows, who else might know, and how will they start treating him?

This week, Adam is one step ahead of his partner-in-crime- when he sets her up for a fall.

After Dr. Taylor tells Victor that he should keep Adam away from a "pregnant" Ashley, Victor decides to send Adam to a halfway house instead of letting him stay at the Newman Ranch. Meanwhile, Adam is afraid that a whacked-out Mary Jane (who he persuaded to dress up as the late Sabrina in order to frighten Ashley in exchange for him helping her win Jack's love) will reveal that Adam has been the one gaslighting Ashley.

After Victor tells Adam that he's sending him away, Adam is desperate and quickly concocts a plan. he heads out to the potting shed (where Mary Jane has stored her things) and warns Mary Jane that Victor wants her in arrested. As she rushes off, Adam purposely sets off his ankle monitor. When the detective arrives, Adam says he was outside because he was chasing down a woman who resembled Mary Jane.

"Mary Jane really has gotten mixed up with the wrong people," sighs Stacy Haiduk. "First, she put her trust in Victor when he brought her back to town. And then she teams up with Victor's son, who's not much better. It's sad because she doesn't really like having to do all this scheming; she just wants Jack back in her life and to have him love her. The situation has gotten very complicated for her, and she doesn't even know who to turn to, so things just keep getting worse."

Later, Adam is called a "hero" by Ashley, who is grateful. When Detective Wallace comes across Mary Jane's things in the shed, Victor hides his connection to her and tells Adam he can stay at the house after all. Meanwhile, as the police track down Mary Jane, she wanders around town trying to figure out where she can hide out.

"She's very alone," says Haiduk. "She isn't sure what to do at this point, but Mary Jane's a survivor. After everything she's been through, she's learned how to bounce back. That's part of what makes her such a great character."

Hmmmmm....no one thinks that kind of strange coming from blind man?:rolleyes1

Hi everyone,I am here http://www.google.com/url?url=http:...pyFdUUmQ&aq=0&oq=campl&aqi=n1g4g-s1g1g-s3g1so I have been trying to catch up on everything. I stayed up late last night trying to see what is happening here and on ATWT. Thanks for aqll the spoilers because it really helps. WE are here for a few more days....10 in all than home for a week than off to Disneyland for 7 days.

As for pauls glasses:lmao: and loved when MaryJane said to Adam "yes I have a cat but I hope that's not a problem..... he really sleeps alot :rotfl:
Part of me feels for MJ. And Victor has hit an all time low with this plot against Jack. It is starting to back fire on him. Wonder if he finally met his match.

How dare Sharon be so selfish to keep the baby a secret from Nick and tell Jack it is his. That pisses me off.

sharron's motives aren't selfish.

she truly feels that nick should be with summer and phillys and the only way to do that is to say the baby is jacks or else nick would leave phillys and want to be with sharron. he still runs to her rescue as noted yesterday when he finds out about victors wallet and went running over to the club only to be told by sharron to leave her alone.

nick is obssessed with her - can't get over the puppy love aspect that started their relationship and sharron can do no wrong in anyone's eyes apparently so she's trying to do the right thing by doing the wrong thing.

i still wonder why its going to come out that summer is really jacks. i mean come on - why else would nick take off with the results if it really was in his favour?

Classic Victor thinking he can just boss everyone around! :rotfl2: As much as the Adam storyline isn't doing it for me, I am looking forward to the day when Victor learns the truth. Should be fun tv.

I know we have been critical in the past of the "recasting" of certain characters on Y&R, but I have to say I really like the new Adam.:) I liked the old Adam too, but I think new Adam has done a really great job filling the role. I wish I could say the same for Mac:sad2:

Anyone else like the new Adam?

I also like the new Adam better, but you & I are in the minority on that recast!

I don't like the storyline either, but I do like the way the new Adam is playing his role. The story line is way to frustrating.

I like the new Adam in this role as well. It just seems to make it easier to really not like what the character is doing.

december... I agree with you about Neil. Sometimes he just really gets to me.

DVCJones....I feel the same way you do about Mac. I keep trying to like her. But it just isn't working. It seems to me like she doesn't really have any chemistry with anyone.

Got Disney.....I hope ya'll are having a wonderful time. :goodvibes

I liked the other Adam better but as far as the recasting went I think they did a good convincing job. He works for me. The story line however has gone on wayyyyyyyyy to long and I am bored with it.

Neil needs to take a step back and let Lily have some space to work this out with Cane. As mentioned she is no longer 2 years old.

As for Sharon :cutie:she is wrong no matter the reason to keep this from Nick. It is his decision to stay or go back to Phyllis not hers. She knows that this is not a secret that she can keep forever. The love she has for him and the guilt that will be had from it wont let her. So how are the men going to feel when they find out. If Jack and Nick tell her it's okay for doing that with a kiss and they tell her I will love you forever no matter what I am going to throw up! I for one however think that it will push Jack to the edge with her and it will be hard to forgive her fot that knowing how much Jacks loves her and how could she do that to him.

As for Nick well I think he will also turn his back on her. Not the baby but her and will make Phyllis and him be closer than before.

And one thing that has also thrown me is that not once did I see anyone hug Phillip and welcome him back to life. No matter the reason the moment I saw him I would have hugged him till all his skin came off. Than asked my questions. Sure your in shock but gee if your son came back from the dead what would you have done? And would you still after days still not hugged him? Looks like for Phillip things are still the same as when he left 20 years ago. Nothing has changed.

The Hilton there is nice. DH and I have stayed there just as a get away. We have also stayed at the DEl for a weekend away also. We love SD and we love that there is so much family stuff here.

"Over the line" tournaments here this week. You may have noticed lots and lots of motorhomes on Fiesta Island. Crazy this time of year on the bay.

WE camp here at Campland every year for the last 15 years. My kids are what is known as "Campland Raised". Just as sooooooooo many others have been. Campland even sells T-Shirts with that on it. My boys see the same kids every year because most everyone that comes here to camp comes the same times every year. We will again be in the same spot the next 2 year at the same time. Even the counselors that hold the events have been here for a long time.

Next time your in town give a shout out and maybe we can hook up for a breakfast or something. I know this great Mexican restaurant in PB on the boardwalk we could do lunch and have a cerveza or margarita and look at the ocean while we chat.
