We were at animal kingdom on Tuesday. We were just about to board the Kali River Rapids when a little girl getting off slipped and fell in the water in the loading unloading area. They scooped her out real quick but it was frightening. Once she was out they took her and her family to another area very quickly and kept everything moving.

I have to say that when we were unloading the steps were sideways and you couldn't get directly on the dock. You had to step at the biggest part about one foot over the water.

Scary.....

Poor girl. What a frightening experience that must have been.

Yikes! I would have been a mess for the rest of the day after watching that happen.

Thank goodness she's okay!

WOW tuesday must havbe been a day for accidents. I was waiting for the DD bus and a little girl ran away from her dad and tried to board a bus just as the bus driver closed the door. She got trapped and let out a horrible scream. She appeared to be OK but it was really scary. I can't imagine being a little kid and having an accident at WDW. It would scar me for life.

I was once on Kali RR when it broke down. We had to crawl over several rafts to get to an emergency exit, which was just some steps leading up the side of a rock wall. First a CM fell on the steps, very steep and wet. Then we had to try and figure out how to get from one raft to another with out falling. Again. very slippery. It was just me and my 4 yr old daughter, who obviously could not manuever from one raft to another without being held. I simply could not have done it without the help of a complete stranger, who climbed onto each raft himself, and then lifted my daughter over for me each time. We were not that close, and this was very dangerous! There were no cms, except for on the exit steps. This thread brought back the very real fear of my daughter being in that rushing water, which at that time was draining rapidly. Scary.:scared1: And if that kind angel who helped me is reading this, THANK YOU!!!

Something similar happened to my niece at Disneyland. She was about 10 years old. She was getting on Pirates of the Caribbean (I think that was the ride)...anyway she fell into the water...Well, every Cast Member was grabbing for her...What actually ended up happening was that since they were all grabbing for her they were actually pushing her back into the water....Well, fortunately she is an excellent swimmer and was able to get
herself up. Well, they immediately took her and the rest of the family to
an area where she was checked over...given all new clothes...All Disney,
of course. The rest of the family got to pick out Disney clothes. They got
a special viewing spot for the parades & fireworks and were given some sort
of passes to go to the front of any of the rides. You can imagine the
Disney went "Over Board". No pun intended!!!! :rotfl2:
My niece was very calm. Not upset at all...And fortunately she was ok!!!!
