If that happens you're probably looking at a civil war.
My husband and son are likely both headed for layoffs now that the Big 3 have announced that they're suspending production.
The $1000 stimulus is lame. They should instead give full or as close as possible to 100% unemployment benefits for people who lose their jobs due to the situation. For the people who get laid off $1000 isn't even going to be a months worth of rent.
This is going to get bad quicker than I thought. That won't be the last factory to shut down. What happens when the Charmin plant gets a worker positive with covid? Or Kellogs? Or the dairy? Supply chain could become an issue here. Not to mention even more people out of work and broke.
I think so. I’m planning on it. I think they should reduce capacity by allowing only onsite guests. I know wishful thinking. I came across an article and I can’t remember where. It was about having virtual lines through the app.Um, can I still go to Disney next May though?

I like a proposal from another politician ( name not important right now)
Proposal Is for $2,000 per qualifying American and $1,000 for each child, each month, until people are back working again
If they qualify it, they will need to find a way to still send the money to people who didn't file taxes because they were under the threshold.
Latest article I read states that unlike the previous "stimulus" , those that qualify ( most recent I read is under $75K to qualify) , people would not have to fill out anything - including filing tax return.
Again, $75,000 was the cut-off in 2008. It's 12 yrs later, that number is far, far too low.
I can do without it, but it still annoys me. I am not well-off and my job is in danger also. But alas, it's par for the course -being single (non-married but living together) and having no kids always leaves us left behind.

I'm sorry but if you are personally making over $75,000 and you don't have kids, you don't really fit the profile of someone living paycheck to paycheck. And my understanding is it is those people that the stimulus is targeting.
