You know you're a mom for sure...

Since I became a SAHM and DS became interested in SS, Barney, and Playhouse Disney I've wondered a lot of the same things. I will tell DH about a cartoon and make a comment about they should just get married, or why aren't they married? He looks at me like, are you serious? It's a cartoon! I can't help it, and I'm glad I'm not alone. Manny loves Kelly, hands down.

Bob the builder is so clueless! Wendy says she's moving to the house boat and he's all ready to help that rock chick with the drums move in. Wendy was practically crying about leaving. I think the machines notice more than Bob does.

We watched Oswald for the 1st time on Noggin this morning and that wacky penguin Henry said that Oswald shouldn't rollerskate because it was too dangerous. I thought, geez... just because you can't skate doesn't mean Oswald can't. And when Oswald won the snowcone Henry said let's go to the park and relax. He might as well just said, we need to go to the park so I can breathe in a paper bag. PS - who knew Fred Savage is the voice of Oswald?

The Caillou hair (or lack of) comment was perfect. I could sing that darn song all day. If we visit my Dad he asks to fast forward the song. That just makes me sing for the rest of the night.

ok, here's one... the backyardigans...
pablo is clearly a penguin, austin is a kangaroo, tyrone is a moose of some sort, tasha is a hippo.... what in the world is uniqua supposed to be? unique, i suppose, as her name implies... but the rest are identifiable so it just seems weird that she is not...

anyone with me on this?

There actually is an answer on this one. Her species is uniqua. They wanted one little girl role model who was totally unique. They wanted her not to be in a box, with a label. Once I read about that, I thought it was pretty cool.

We :love::love: the Backyardigans. We have their music CD in our van & a lot of their DVD's. I often just burst into "I'm not an eggggggg anymore, I left my shell on the floor!" much to my older kids embarassment. They pay me back, though, by singing the Ooompa Loompa song from Willy Wonka, "What do you do if your kid is a brat? Spoiled and pampered like a Siamese cat? Who can you blame? The mothers and the fathers...."

i sang that egg song for like 2 weeks after it was on the first time!
so there is an answer... interesting... cool concept, i agree... but i still think it's a little odd that the rest are "real" animals...

really, i should spend less time thinking about this stuff :)

and willie wonka and the chocolate factory is one of the greatest movies of all time... but NOT the remake...

Ok, so how come Wubbzy wears clothes to bed but walks around naked the rest of the time???

I often wondered about Wubbzy's gender, but then if you listen to the theme song, "Wubbzy lives in a tree, he likes to play, play, play. He's got a bendy tail and he likes it that way."

Another favorite of my son's is Yo Gabba Gabba. Should we really start flaming that one? ;) Muno anyone?? :lmao::lmao:

OMG!!:lmao::lmao::lmao: My kids love that silly show!!!

I know EXACTLY where you're going with the Muno thing...LOL

And in the opening song it sounds like, "FooFa! She's FREAKIN HAPPY!"
Instead of she's "PINK and happy!"

AND...in the "scary" episode, there is this lady(who is NOT very small) in a sparkly gold leotard dancing around going,"Glitter hands...Glitter hands...Glitter hands...Gltter hands...RAZZLE DAZZLE!!!" And her bra is not so supportive as she does this. Not to mention the 80's blue eye shadow and interesting hair do.....:confused3:lmao:

I thought, however, that it was VERY appropriate that she appear on the scary episode instead of the...I don't know...DANCE...or MOVE one! LOL!!!

Aesalsa--I've always thought that the picture was of Manny's sister and nephew. I think there was an episode where he was babysitting him.

And I've also wondered about Goofy's wife? Where did Max come from? Someone's got to know!

How about Goofy and Max? Goofy is Max's dad, but where is the mom? Was Max born out of wedlock?!:goodvibes
Goofy's a widower http://allears.net/aa/aa121707.htm
Campfires and gorillas under water on Spongebob... What about Spongebob and Sandy? They seem to hit it off from the start.

Oh, and where is Christopher Robin on My Friends Tigger and Pooh? Who is Darby!!?

Christopher Robin had to go to school and leave Pooh Corner, IIRC.

I have no kids, and the youngest little one in my family is 8-I have no excuse for knowing this stuff-LOL.

I always wonder where Max and Ruby's parents are. I mean their grandmother visits them and BunnyScout leader, but no parents.

So, today I was in the kitchen making a banana pudding (low cal, trying to get these last few pounds off) for dinner tonight. My toddler was in the living room watching Handy Manny. A few minutes passed and I realized that I had been sincerely pondering if Manny and Kelly were going to get together. Manny was fixing her brother's popcorn machine and she had to meet him at the hardware. She's in bunny slippers on a Friday night.

Was that a hint to Manny that she isn't dating?

She was VERY appreciative to him for helping her brother out.

I swear, it's more intense than all the questions surrounding Bob the Builder and Wendy.

She's awfully blonde, will there be conflicts with their cultures at the wedding? Will she have to give up the hardware store when they have babies? Or will she be the modern woman who can do it all? Or maybe the grandparents can watch the babies. Will things be falling apart at their house because he is too busy fixing everyone else's stuff? Will the tools be super jealous about their relationship and try to sabotage it?

Seriously, people, I do have a life. A rich and full life.

Yet still.....

I've always thought Manny and Kelly would end up together...as The Tools say 'Kelly always has what we need'. ;)

LOVES me some Gabba Gabba. My son has outgrown but I haven't. Reminds me of my single days, going to raves.

I too have wondered about Manny and Kelly and Bob and Wendy, but what disturbs me the most is that on Max and Ruby you never see a set of parents..Ruby takes care of Max and bosses that poor rabbit all over the place and it makes me so mad...hahaha

I also have a life and I watch soap operas (on DVR)..:rotfl2:

I so wondered about max and ruby myself. Where are the parents? They do everything themselves. LOL

This just might be the most amusing thread ever.

I love to watch The Imagination Movers with my kids cause I have a crush on Mover Smitty!!! LOL:lmao:

You know you're a mom when you ponder who the best looking guy singing and dancing to children's music is! LOL

That's funny...DH was reading some message board to me that was discussing the attractiveness of the Choo-Choo Soul guy. I didn't realize so many people put so much thought into these kid shows!

It's a good thing I don't watch this show. That would drive me crazy. My biggest pet peeve about cartoons is some animals wearing clothing and some wearing none. :confused3

Then how do you handle Disney with Mickey wearing pants and Donald only a shirt?? :scared1: !!

:lmao:

And don't forget Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie...

I think the Smurfs were guilty too...

OOOHH I hope I am not showing my age but did you also notice that Henry is the voice of Squiggy from the Laverne and Shirley days :lmao: And the other thing why does a sponge live in a pineapple??:confused3 I used to think spongebob's parents were chocolate chip cookies but I beleive they are just round sponges:rotfl::lmao::confused3:confused3

Man that show scares me anyways. There is something creepy about all the characters and how they go about things...how they move, dance, talk. The show looks like it was filmed in the late 70s or earlier 80s anyhow.

Oh he is a cutie...

That's okay. My DS (17 months) and I were watching the tail end of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse this morning. I'm not sure what exactly happened during the show, but Daisy was floating with a bunch of balloons. Mickey went up to the top of the ferris wheel to catch her foot and rescue her.

Now....wait for it..... Daisy KISSED Mickey on the cheek! I gasped! I couldn't believe it? Is that why Donald is always so tempermental and angry? How was Minnie going to react? I was waiting for Minnie to get upset. I was so shocked! None of the gang reacted at all -- Mickey did seem a little embarrassed, but frankly I thought he was embarrassed because he enjoyed it. Looked that way to me!

I missed that episode this morning.

Captain_Hook - Hi neighbor! We're in Bel Air too. :yay:

I just realized that today too! I thought it sounded like him and now I can't look at the characters the same way. I just keep waiting for the narrator from Wonder Years to pop up.
