You know you're a mom for sure...

Oooo, I thought of another one, that my older kids watch. Does anyone know why the obviously boy cow (his name is Otis) from Back to the Barnyard has udders? It drives me sooooo crazy that I have a hard time watching it, even though it's a cute show.

Oh I HATE that!!! It was teh same in the movie and drove me absolutely batty!

I'll chime in too- my DH always talks about Manny and Kelly getting together- and I have issues with Max and Ruby's lack of parental units....

These are all very good questions but the REAL mystery is...

WHY IS CAILLOU BALD???

Everyone else on the show has hair - his classmates, his baby sister, etc...

I love this thread!

I cannot cound the number of times per day, my 6 year old son will come to me and ask "Have you met my tools? Rusty, Squeeze, Pat, Turner, Phillipe, Dusty, Stretch and Flicker?" Handy Manny is huge in our house!

So, today I was in the kitchen making a banana pudding (low cal, trying to get these last few pounds off) for dinner tonight. My toddler was in the living room watching Handy Manny. A few minutes passed and I realized that I had been sincerely pondering if Manny and Kelly were going to get together. Manny was fixing her brother's popcorn machine and she had to meet him at the hardware. She's in bunny slippers on a Friday night.

Was that a hint to Manny that she isn't dating?

She was VERY appreciative to him for helping her brother out.

I swear, it's more intense than all the questions surrounding Bob the Builder and Wendy.

She's awfully blonde, will there be conflicts with their cultures at the wedding? Will she have to give up the hardware store when they have babies? Or will she be the modern woman who can do it all? Or maybe the grandparents can watch the babies. Will things be falling apart at their house because he is too busy fixing everyone else's stuff? Will the tools be super jealous about their relationship and try to sabotage it?

Seriously, people, I do have a life. A rich and full life.

Yet still.....

I will take it one step further into insanity and say that I think the artist girl (who paints murals and has funky hair) has her eye on Manny :rotfl: I think he should choose Kelly, who is so nice to him. What in the world are we going to do when our kids are old enough to date?

i have always wondered and been bothered by Little Bear and Emily --- they sure do seem to flirt back and forth alot and well, i guess i am a little bothered by the whole possibility of inter-species relations...

another thing that bugs me is on Franklin...now, i love the cartoon, thinks it's precious, but why does Franklin have a proper name, yet all his friends are Bear, Beaver, Goose, etc...for pete's sake, give those kids a name...

Where is the mother on Max and Ruby ? Grandma has time to drop in for tea, sweets and facials! Ruby does all of the shopping, cooking, cleaning. When does she get her turn to be the child! I am consumed.

When she's being a Bunny Scout of course -- but if I'm not mistaken she tends to want to lead that along with her friend that comes over.

Ok question....is ELMO a boy or a girl. I know it was reveled awhile ago, but I don't remember.:lmao::lmao:
Oh and how in the world is Mr. Crab's daughter Pearl, a whale? And where is her mom???????

I'm pretty sure ELMO is a boy.

Yeah, I always wondered that about Pearl!!! I know he had a thing for Mrs. Puff in one episode & we found out that Mr. Puff ended up as a lamp but who knows for Mrs. Crabs -- She *must* have been a whale?

One of my kids the other day did point out that all of Spongebob's relatives are round! His parents & his grandma. I think there is a statue of his great-grandfather (or grandfather?) that is square. I never gave it much thought but he was right. :lmao:

Although Patrick does have a pretty cool rock! It transforms all the time.

The things we ponder on kid shows! We have been known to have all sorts of discussions about such things in our household.

I've often wondered about Manny & Kelly, too. It's too funny that someone finally brought this up!

On the issue of Max & Ruby...I read thread on the Nick Jr. board every once in a while and it was mentioned there that the parents aren't shown because the author of the Max & Ruby series wanted to show how kids can get along and work things out together. Me, I'm just annoyed by Ruby & her constant ordering around of Max. He's a little bunny, let him do what he wants, not what you want him to do!

Anyone else have Wubbzy kids? One episode that got me thinking was the one where Wubbzy went to school. Wubbzy was the student, Walden the teacher and Widget wasn't in school, but working at her shop. So if Walden & Widget are "adults" why does Wubbzy, a child going to school, always hang out with them. I dunno, I gues we all think too much when we're at home with the kiddo's and watching cartoons.
:confused3 :lmao:

Yes! That artist for sure has the hots for Manny! I agree that he should choose Kelly!

Campfires and gorillas under water on Spongebob... What about Spongebob and Sandy? They seem to hit it off from the start.

Oh, and where is Christopher Robin on My Friends Tigger and Pooh? Who is Darby!!?

I just wanted to chime in about Manny and Kelly. . .I totally think Kelly is interested in Manny. I've thought that since the first episode. Just the way she says, "Hola, Manny,"--it's very flirtatious.

Have you all ever noticed on Manny's bulletin board that there is a picture of Manny, a woman, and small child together? I thought it might be his family that we never see, or it could be his sister and nephew. You all look, and let me know what you think ;).

Theatermouse: Thanks for the explanation of "Max and Ruby." I too think that the dynamic between them is unbalanced. I really didn't like the episodes when Ruby has to buy new overalls for Max and when she tries to convince max to eat eggs for breakfast: Where are the parents? Where do they get the money? Why does their family picture only show Max, Ruby, Grandma, and a grandpa? Why don't the little bunnies live with their grandparents? What is the meaning of life?!?!

LOL I find myself really "getting into" these shows. Everyone thinks I am nuts because I find the Imagination Movers are fantastic to sing when I am doing dishes or other chores!!!

Also, my sister is 14 and when she was around 2 or so, she went through this HUGE Pooh thing. She would watch it all day everyday. She would have one heck of a fit if the movie was turned off.
Anyway, fast forward to now: I just bought the movie for my kids. Haven't seen it since my sister was little. Even though it has been more than a decade since I had last seen it, I still remembered almost every line!:rotfl:

And as for Manny and Kelly they have it for each other bad. I saw that longing look she gave him this morning!!!:rotfl2:

ok, here's one... the backyardigans...
pablo is clearly a penguin, austin is a kangaroo, tyrone is a moose of some sort, tasha is a hippo.... what in the world is uniqua supposed to be? unique, i suppose, as her name implies... but the rest are identifiable so it just seems weird that she is not...

anyone with me on this?

How about Goofy and Max? Goofy is Max's dad, but where is the mom? Was Max born out of wedlock?!:goodvibes

Aesalsa--I've always thought that the picture was of Manny's sister and nephew. I think there was an episode where he was babysitting him.

And I've also wondered about Goofy's wife? Where did Max come from? Someone's got to know!

I thought maybe she might have been a salamander. I am so with you. I love heir songs though

You are so NOT alone but I probably take it to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!!!

I love to watch The Imagination Movers with my kids cause I have a crush on Mover Smitty!!! LOL:lmao:

You know you're a mom when you ponder who the best looking guy singing and dancing to children's music is! LOL

Auuggghhh is Wubbzy a boy or girl??

I literally updated my facebook status yesterday to say "Kara wonders why Rintu is always such an ****** on Kai Lan". And why is Kai Lan the only one without sharing issues and the only one who doesn't act like she is a major baby?

Don't get me started on Max and Ruby...I cannot stand her being so bossy...but I think that since they changed the person who does her voice she is a bit better.
