I looked at your auctions and saw a rubber stamp Sarahsmom. Are you a rubber stamper? I used to be big into that and have tons of them! Have any sold for you before?

Good Luck Sarahsmom85!!! I would think stuff like that would be good for auctions. I have a box of about 125 craft books (cross stitch etc - you know those think folder type ones) that I bought at a garage sale. I had tried to list some on Ebay once but they didn't go that time. I have to get my act in gear & list some on mycoupons.com. I sold some there this fall and then never got a comprehensive list ready. Now at least I have some MOTIVATION!!!! The ones I sold before went for $1 each so if I could dump at least half it would help!

I was into one craft or another all the time. I sold some really nice stamps once for a good price back in 2001. I had a lot of craft books on in Sept and sold quite a few. But most went for a dollor or so and buy the time I pay ebay and pay pal, I had nothing left. I think I will group them next time.
I too have a whole bunch of kids clothing to list. I'm hoping people will be in a buying mood in January and Feb.

I would love to hear from the long-timers as to the successes (and not) during January and February. I considered not listing at all during January.

as to the successes (and not) during January and February.

Hubby and I were just talking about that as we packed some of Decembers buy's into the wee hours of the morning.

Last January, I doubled Decembers sell through. Since this December has been a banner year for us, I don't see that happening, plus we're going to Dis the middle of January, so I'll have to stop selling, so as not to have auction endings too soon to our trip, so that will put a dent in the selling. People have Christmas gift money to spend..and spend (for us) they do.

I have not left feedback yet. Neither have I replied to his email. I have three negative feedbacks of my 260 some positives. Two I just received about two weeks ago. Those two were from the same person who wanted me to combine shipping after they paid for the items through paypal. They didn't request combined shipping. Anyway, I'm really not too upset about those because I know that there are just stupid people out there that will leave negative feedback instead of using email to work something out. So, if this guy leaves me a negative that would be three in one month. I also am not too concerned about this one. I sent the item to him how the manufacturer sent it to my bil. Here is a copy of the email I have saved to send to him. What do you think?

I just spoke with my brother-in-law on this clock. He bought this from his Napa dealership. This was an item that cost the dealers $200. That wasn't even the retail price. The clock was delivered to you the exact way that he received it, except for those minor scratches that are mentioned in the auction. The clock is designed to be hung on the wall. When it is hung the chain slips out the hole. The only way you'd have to do anything to it is if you decided to hang it high enough that you would need a longer chain. Those chains would be very inexpensive at Wal-Mart or Target. I'm sorry if you spent $23 to have it fixed because it was not broken when it was shipped. If you had told me before fixing it you were unhappy, I would have given you a refund. Customer service is very important to me. I will gladly stand behind what I sell, but I can not give you a refund of $20 to fix something that was not broken.

I know that you said in your email that unless I refunded you’re the $20, you would leave negative feedback. I'm sorry you will feel the need to do this. I do not leave negative feedback, in most instances. I have not left feedback for you yet. I do not feel it would be right for you to leave me negative feedback for selling you a clock that works perfectly fine and is in excellent condition like stated.

What do you think?

DMRick: BTW, we will be in Florida from 1/17-1/23. We are staying at Pop Century Too. I think snowgod will be there for that same time.

OK, who wants to arrange a get together LOL. I vote for you!

about the clock:
I think you give him too much info. I also wouldn't threaten him back with a neg. That might make him feel he has to stick up for himself, and the neg will come sooner, I think, I'm sure he knows if he gives you one, you'll retaliate.

I would simply tell him the time to tell you the clock needed fixing would have been before he got it fixed..since you would have explained to him that the chain would have been a free fix, if he had given you a chance to explain it, or you would have arranged to have him return it.

I wouldn't tell him where the clock came from, the original cost, etc. None of his business.

Hey there - yep, both Snowgod (that's DH) and Mrs. Snowgod (that's me) will be there. We arrive late on 1/17 and stay at PC 1 night, then move over to BCV for 5 nights. I'd love to meet you folks.

Does one set these things up on the community board? I'll go check it out and report back! :)

Sorry to be so quiet lately - I've been engrossed by postings on the Sparedollar community forum. Great learning tools over there, too!

Disboards "meet and greet"....... I will be there 1/16 - 1/24 (staying off-site though)........ love to put some faces with the names!!!......P

I think you can just start a thread here..to keep it budget and on topic, you can call it "Ebay Diser's get together to compare notes!"
Pick a time and place to meet and just know you can't please everyone (but be sure to pick a time when I'm there LOL!) by whatever date or place you pick. Heck, Pop Century cafetaria is fine by me LOL..you can all tell the guard you are visiting us..or All Star Music, if I'm still over there!! It would be great..and I'd be happy to make name buttons with our dis name and "real name" with a green ribbon for the people who are going ot be there who post. I'll bring them along with me. Just let me now when and where. I would keep it to the eBay board posters.

Sorry, MRS. Snowgod. Forgot the most important part of that name :o I don't think you really have to set up anything on the community board for a meet. We are traveling with my DH, 2 DD, and my parents, so I don't know how much time I will have for a meet, but let me know if anything gets set up, and I'll see if I can fit it in. It would be fun to meet some of you.

Sorry, MRS. Snowgod.

No need to apologise - LOL - I hate that handle anyway... I think this is the only place I ever use the title "Mrs."... DH registered here with an old nickname (he has been a ski- and snowboard-instuctor for years), then I started posting under his ID. He eventually said, "get your own", and I thought it would be cute to use this. Oh, well, so much for cute  .

You all can just call me Joy.

So, I started a meet thread here on this board. This is it.
I even put my photo in it so you will know how to recognise me. Maybe that's why nobody replied yet! ;) ::yes:: :wave2:

Hi, Joy:

All DIS meets are to be posted on the DIS MEET BOARD. You can post it here and link it there, though.

Hope everyone is doing fine. I've been WAY too busy to post but VERY busy on eBay and school. Just popping in to say HELLO!

Oh, I just thought it would be good to meet those of you I know on the eBay board, not have a full fledged meet. I don't visit the community board, so I wouldn't know if you guys set something up anyway. I didn't realize to meet people from a certain board, it had to be a regular meet : (

Well, I have bids now on four of my auctions thank goodness. One is even up to $8 - it is the one I would have expected to go a little higher as it has a very pretty blue ornament that is kind of shaped like a flower. So hopefully all will pay promptly Sunday nite and I will make enough to at least clear the listing fees! The other 9 auctions have no bids but lots of view and one that emailed with a question. Cross your fingers for me!!!

Oh my goodness, I had an ebay nightmare last night while I was sleeping. I dreamt I got to the PO and I had a ton of packages. But none of them had addresses on them. Everyone in line got really annoyed with me and so did the postal clerks. It's pretty funny actually now that I think about it. :)

Hi Vals, and welcome to our fun little group! Congrats on the DVC add-ons... that's as addictive as eBay, no?!

I have no real experience to base this on, but IMO, if you are already paying fees for a merchants MC/Visa account, I wouldn't bother with PayPal, unless you do so with a non-fee (personal) account and use it only for people who fund with cash. You could not post the PayPal logo in your auctions in that case, but could certainly refer to it in your payment terms verbiage.

Regarding using a template, you can obtain a whole host of them via Sparedollar, and it is free for the first month you try it, then only $4.95/month afterward. You can upload your photos there and have many in your listings for just the basic listing cost, and avoid the extra 15 cents each. Several folks here have tried it, and I for one plan to continue. So many of my listings benefit from multiple photos that I have already made up my monthly fee.
Here is a link to Sparedollar.

HTH,
Joy

PS You are welcome to keep the snow in Canada - LOL ::yes::

 :hyper:

Is that a sign that you are selling a whole lot lately? Hope so! Haven't seen you posting lately... you must be busy listing! ;)

Come to think of it, that is how it felt when I mailed the package to Greece that I mentioned here a week ago. The clerk had to do a bunch of trial and error to come up with exactly the combo of features that I'd gotten for the original quote, and a line formed as I waited. :(

How's everyone doing now that we're so close to Christmas? I sold quite a bit on Thursday night but unfortunately there's some "foot dragging" going on with some of the payments.. :(

Then one person wanted to renegotiate the shipping and handling AFTER the fact and I haven't heard back from them since..

Another fella had a problem when eBay was having one of their many "glitches" in their system and was trying to bid on one of my items but it wouldn't go through.. He found another item exactly the same that was being offered by a different seller and bought with a BIN.. Later on he found that his bid on mine DID go through and he ended up winning the auction. However, he had no need for two of the exact same item so he emailed me and said that he would go ahead and pay for it because the error was his, but he did not want me to send him the item - just take the money.. I couldn't do that - not my style - so I emailed him back and told him if he wanted to reimburse me for the eBay fees that would be fine, but I didn't want to take his money and not send him the item..

Now I have a ton of auctions closing on Sunday night (I think about 35) and I mentioned in my auction that all of these items would be shipped by Priority Mail first thing Monday morning.. Well guess what? We have another major snowstorm coming in Sunday night into Monday afternoon (sheesh! Wasn't the 30" last week enough????) and if I can't get out of here (we live at the very bottom of a VERY steep hill on a dead-end road) I'm sunk!!! I have to work Tues., Wed., & Thurs. and because of the hours I work, I won't be able to get to the PO again until Friday - the 19th! :( I guess if push comes to shove, I'll have to call in late to work on Tuesday morning..

Anyhow - sales are pretty brisk - and I've been helping them along by doing about 90% of my Christmas shopping via eBay.. :) I've gotten some fantastic bargains and was able to get "hard to find" items for my DD and her husband at unbelievable prices!!

Hope everyone else is doing well.. After Sunday night I think I'm going to take a break from listing until Christmas day as I have to move all my eBay stuff out of the upstairs bedroom so my granddaughter can spend next Friday & Saturday night here with me doing our special Christmas activities..

Wishing you all lots of GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wave2:
