C.Ann, thanks for the help....curious tho, how do you go about researching things? I mean I know about looking at completed items and all, but do you just pick an item and check them out or is there another place to see various things that have sold. (Did that make sense?) I'm definatly going to research what some childrens books sell for and keep a list in my purse.
Oh boy....my life will never be the same! LOL

You're welcome!
Okay - how do I do my research? Well - in several ways..
Take children's toys for instance.. (There are SOOOO many to be had in garage sales that are like brand new - not to mention the ones my granddaughter has outgrown..) I usually search by manufacturer - such as "Fisher Price", "Playskool", etc. - unless I want to research something specific - like doll houses, games, etc..
For holiday items (Halloween, Christmas, etc.) I just search by the holiday name..
BUT where I find my
best categories is in "Collectibles".. I think many people assume that collectibles means "antiques" and nothing could be further from the truth.. People collect all sorts of things - new, old, and everything in between.. I have sold CURRENT brochures from places of interest for as much as $12 a piece! Yes - that's
$12 for
one piece of paper!!!! Also, what some people don't realize is that if you click on "Collectibles" on the left hand side of the home page and then go to the very bottom of the list of collectibles in very small print it says something like "show all categories" and if you click on THAT you could be reading for days on end!!! Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of sub-categories in collectibles!!
As an example of some things I never would have thought to "search" for are:
piggy banks
items with bank advertising on them
road maps
items with soda advertising on them
assorted pens and pencils
old AND new post cards
documents
calendars
ads
tools
sewing items
and on and on and on and on.......... It's nothing short of
amazing to go through those categories and see what YOU might have lying around that someone ELSE collects!!
Take a look - I think you'll like it!
