Do you all think those 2 extra days will make that much of a difference? Or do you think it matters if I end them on a Sunday or not? I have done so in the past and *thought* they did better than auctions ending on other days.

I researched an item I had to sell a few weeks ago and could definetely see a difference in ending prices in relation to the end of the auctions. Sunday evenings did much better than the rest of the week with Thursday evening coming in 2nd. The item I had was NWT and I only searched for that specific design so I know all the items were the exact same. I even took shipping prices into consideration but still the Sunday evening ones did the best no matter the cost of shipping.

Thanks for the help everyone! I think I am going to just take my time getting the listing ready and then put everything up on Sunday afternoon/evening. It seemed like I did better with 7 day auctions too instead of just the 5 day ones I did recently.

I was also wondering, what do you all think about taking CC payments thru PayPal? Do you think you make up the difference that you have to pay in transaction fees by having the CC option available?

TIA!

I just noticed that I received a second payment via Paypal on a video I sold. I want to refund the second payment, but when I go through Paypal, it says unverified member. I emailed the buyer that I would be refunding. Do I need to get from her the member email she uses for Paypal?

Thanks in advance,

Martha

Yet another question :)

I just sent out my first package--it was priority so I got free delivery confirmation

Should I send the buyer the delivery confirmation number so she can track it? Thanks!

Priority Mail gets free Delivery Confirmation? If this is correct, how do I go about doing that? Thanks, SAndy

Also I am having a heck of a time researching these old books on ebay...I really can't find anything similar. Any ideas?

Mom2smjn - check out this website for pricing your old antique books. The prices are higher than you will realize on ebay, but it is a good reference tool.

Hope that helps!

I know that many of you use an Excel Spreadsheet to keep track of sales, expenses, fees, shipping costs & other pertinent information. Is there anyone out there who would be interested in sending a blank template file to me. I don't have a clue where to begin in building one. Thanks in advance, Sandy

You need to print your shipping label from the www.usps.com site. When you do this, they include the free delivery confimation. It all prints out on the one label.

When you are on the page that you enter the shipping information....after you enter the delivery information, there is a little box where you can enter your buyers email address and then a box to check off....usps will send them a shipping notification. Saves you some time...

If you accept CC payments more than likely you will see an increase in your sales....that will help cover any extra costs. I believe people like to be able to take care of the payment fast and easy....and I do believe it does help out on "impulse" sales.
I like to take them because my turnaround time is cut way down.

WOW- I didn't know that! I was sending out an additional email and copying and pasting the DC# in the email.....:sunny:

Thanks for the great help! I am really thinking about starting to accept CC payments now and see how it goes. Do most of you accept them to a different email addy than the regular payments? Or do you pay the fees on all the transactions? Just curious how most people handle this.

I'm off to visit the Mouse first thing tomorrow morning. I'll be sure to check out the Character shops for eBay items!!

OK..now listen up...my family has decreed the laptop is to stay home (they think I need a "real" vacation. So I worked on all my eBay stuff (with plans to start them Sunday..but I haven't really decided yet because of all the BIN's I have ready to go..and with no computer to answer questions....), obviously they don't know how serious the withdrawal will be!), so I won't be able to be on the "boards"...so please, everyone wait til I get home to post so I won't have a lot of catching up to do...

OK?

LOL!

Go to your account overview page (main page when you log on) Find the payment you want to refund, click onto "details", on the page that comes up, scroll down to the bottom. You will see in blue "refund payment"....click onto that and finish your refund. It will go back to the account that it originally came from.

Maybe shopping for things to sell on ebay may help a little with the withdrawal!!!!! or not!!!! Have a great time:wave:

Back to the question of ending on Sunday. When I list clothes, I do notice a difference. They seem to sell better ending anytime on Sunday from mid afternoon on. OR-- ending any weekday later in the evening/night (for me eastern time).

It seems there are so many clothing listings. That the clothes get lost on something like page 100+ forever. I know when I am just browsing the clothes I always sort them w/ going, going, gone. Then I look at about the first 20-30 pages. So, I never see everything. There's just way too much.

Speaking of that. I had 32 auctions end this weekend, mostly clothing. I picked up a lot of $0.50-1.00 sweaters at a 1/2 price thrift store sale. Only 3 items didn't get bids. Most of the items started off at $.99. I made enough to pay for my 8 day rental car.
