my first thought - "Can I sell them on ebay?!?!?"

Went to the 2 Belz outlet stores and picked up what I hope will be some good ebay mechandise - I'll let you know. Stuck with items that were at least 50% off, most were 75% off. Also hit a flea market and picked up an unopened packaged men's barbeque apron for $0.25 - same thing is selling on ebay for $6 to $7.50 - cool!

LOL! and Welcome back Mrs. Snowgod! I agree, NOTHING gets by my eBay nose!

Question: I'm going back to Orlando for a before school starts trip with my son. Of course I'm thinking of things to get from their. I was wondering how were the deals at Belz? I planned on going to the resorts and getting some HTF things from them. Thanks!

online source for purchasing cardboard or chipboard

I mentioned this place in an earlier post:

Kelly Paper

http://www.kellypaper.com/

If you have a resale number, ask if they will sell to you wholesale...although an on line source is not the best, since it's heavy and the shipping is a lot. I get mine, as mentioned earlier, at paper shops that cater to Printers. The cost ends up being half the price or even less than Kelly's. Call any local Printer and ask where they buy their paper..tell them you are looking for chipboard. You also should think about getting the clear envy's I posted or some sort of envy that is good for old paper goods. You can photgraph right through the envy. IMO, eople prefer to buy from seller's that they think are careful in what they package in (most people who sell old paper items store them while waiting for the sale in archieval packaging). Of course, they have no idea how it was stored before that LOL!

I didn't think about how heavy and costly the chipboard would be to ship :( but I know you are right. My husband and I work opposite schedules so when I am home and able to shop I have my 3 month old infant daughter with me so I was looking at having something delivered. I work in a public library so I may be able to order from one of our supply companies. And yes I did see your post regarding the clear envy's, ClearBags.com right? I have that site bookmarked and I plan on ordering some. Thanks for the info!!!

Okay...I spent the day getting pictures of my Japanese Dolls ready

Also plowing through possible ebay items...

I swear I can't walk into a room without looking for potential sales.

;)

DMRICK I pmed you!

Question....do you guys think that Lots of kids clothing sell better than single items or single outfits??

Ok, well I finally got 13 auctions going this past weekend. I have bids on 4 things so far....not great but hey it's more than I started with, so....

My question of the week is this....if something doesn't sell the first time do you relist it right away or do you wait and do it at a later time?

Thanks for the help!!

Hi Robinrs,

The deals at Belz were great! I found many things I have purchased on previous trips to the parks, at 50% to 75% off the prices I paid at WDW. For future ebay listing, I picked up some Xmas items with no dates, but it was the 2002 stuff that was the cheapest, of course!

The Belz complex is HUGE and there are 3 malls, with a Character Premier store as well as a Character Warehouse (each in separate malls). I found that Premier had more Xmas stuff and that the Warehouse had more other good buys. I picked up a couple of minisnowglobes that were selling for #3.99 there, and I had paid $15 for the exact item in MK last January. 5 of these have sold on ebay in the past month, and there are none currently listed, so I'd better get to work putting up my listings! ;)

Yes, I'd recommend a trip to Belz, for the kids clothes, souveniers as well as future ebay merchandise!

I'm tired! Not tired of making money , but tired nonetheless.. Mailed out 12 packages today - took my elderly mother shopping - and came home to find I have 8 more packages that need to go out tomorrow!!

------------------------

I'm still having problems with the Shipping Assistant and was wondering if anyone could help me out.. This is what happens when I use it:

I get on-line and then go up to my start button, go to programs, go to Shipping Assistant - and open it up. The screen comes up for me to fill in the addy, type of shipping (parcel, media, first class, etc.), weight, the delivery confirmation I want, etc. When I get everything all filled in, I hit the "submit" button and after a few seconds I get the confirmation. I then click on the "Display label" button and the Reader opens up (over the SA screen) with the label. I think hit the print button at the top of that screen and it prints out.. This is where the problem comes in.. After it's done printing and I try to click on the "x" on the Reader screen not only does the screen that had the label on it shut down, but the whole SA screen as well.. Then I have to go back and start from scratch - opening the SA program from the start menu again, etc.

What am I doing wrong? It takes FOREVER to print out my labels that way!! I really want to continue to use this program because it's saving me a TON of money on DC, but I can't be spending several hours just to print out a few labels either..

Does anyone here have any idea what I'm talking about - and how I can correct this situation?

Thanks! ;)

I tried to mimic what you did, and when I X out of the label, my shipping assistant is still there. Sorry I'm no help : )

Thanks, Mrs. Snowgod! We leave a week from Saturday and I can't wait!

C. Ann

Mine does that sometimes too, but not all the time. I haven't figured out how to fix it yet, but I still use it. How is it that you and I keep having the same problems with this program?:p

I used it and it printed fine on regular white paper. I then took it and cut it down.

HTH!

C. Ann, could you use your toolbar on the bottom to click back on the SA box. Just leave the other label up there for the time being, do your next label and see what happens?

I am tired of going to the post office all the time to send media mail. Can you use your computer to print a media mail label?

okay,

You have all inspired me to try e-bay again. I tried it a year or so agao and didn't have much luck, but then I didn't list a lot. Do any of you know the best place to set up a checking accout that is low fee? We just got rid of a bunch of old books and now I am kicking myself..........................

Okay.. I've finally taken the plunge and listed my first item on ebay. :Pinkbounc It took me quite awhile to get the item listed, but now that I understand the process a little, it should be easier. I am hoping to earn some serious spending cash for our trip to WDW in September/ October. Thanks for encouraging us to get motivated to ebay! Have a great weekend!:D

Disneygeek, I can't say enough abt Stamps.com! You get your first month free plus a free 5 lb scale + $25 in free postage. I stay home with two little ones all day and it is hard to go to the ppost office, wait in line, etc. Stamps.com allows you to do everything from home, including media mail and delivery conf. that you can check online. After the first month, there is a small monthly fee but if you sell alot you may want to either look at it as a convenience cost or add .25 or .50 to your auction shipping costs to cover it. Check it out....it makes life easy. After you print your lables you can either put them in your mailbox, give them to your carrier or just drop them off at the PO.

Since we just drove to FL and back right after the new Harry Potter came out, we thought we'd enjoy listening to it in the car. We are readers, and haven't used audio books much at all, but this really helped pass the time. We were able to finish the whole 27 hours of CDs by the time we got home.

Now, the best part is, I have listed the set on ebay! We got it at Sam's at a very good price, and even if I don't recoup the whole amount, at least I'll get back a good part of it, and the rest was worth spending to help pass the time in the car.

So those of you driving with little ones (or even without little ones!) - see if you can get a good buy on the audio version of a new release, then sell it afterward!

Has this ever happened to you? --

I sent a package Priority Mail and Wednesday with a Delivery confirmation. When I go to look up the tracking number on the USPS website is says no record of this number found. I hope they delivered it and it didn't get scanned.

Also it seems like all my addresses are unconfirmed. So far I have only had 2 that are confirmed. Nothing but problems this week and I am a little discouraged.

Our local library has a wonderful set of many childrens books on tape, possibly at least 100 kids tapes, and almost 1000 or more adult books (well, you know what I mean) on tape.

To go really Budget, we get those for Free, and return them when we get home.

The kids have already picked which ones out...

Aww, cinlee...

The one thing in life I'm convinced of is that everything has good and bad days. In can easily get discouraging in a small business, which this IS, but you can sail through it if you realize that this TOO shall pass.

Don't be discouraged, you're a talented incredible person! Be ENcouraged!
